Dentistry has been a lifelong interest for Dr. Austin. He says, I was fascinated with dentistry the very first time I went to a dentist, and when I was finishing college it was the profession I most wanted to pursue. Dr. Austin left his home in Santa Paula, California to attend Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. While there he married his wife Nancy and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. They moved to Iowa City to attend the University of Iowa School of Dentistry. Dr. Austin achieved high honors in dental school and was inducted into the National Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, for outstanding academic and clinical achievement. He completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and also obtained the degree of Doctor of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Family LifeAccording to Dr. Austin, much of his success can be attributed to his wonderful, supportive wife Nancy. They have been married since 1980 and have four children and several grandchildren. He enjoys fishing, gardening, baseball, serving his church and spending time with his family. As for his black belt in Taekwondo? He says, I obtained that to protect myself from my three sons who also enjoy the martial arts.

Why I do what I do?Dr. Austin looks forward to coming to work every day because he feels the profession of oral surgery is a wonderful combination of science and art. I love how dentistry and my specialty, in particular, combine facial form and function with the beauty of a smile. Dr. Austin has had the opportunity to serve on medical/dental missions to Honduras and Mexico.

A Mesa native, Dr. Boyse was inspired to pursue dentistry by a sense of community. Growing up, I was surrounded by excellent dentists who were able to serve their communities. Through their influence, I decided that dentistry would give me the opportunity to serve the people of the community where I grew up. He graduated with honors from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, where he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency in Rochester, New York. He became Board Certified in 2005 through the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Family LifeDr. Boyse and his wife Tracy, also an Arizona native, live in Gilbert with their five children. The family stays busy with a number of activities, including sports, camping, and water sports. Dr. Boyse says, When we are home, our interests revolve around getting our children to their sporting events, music lessons, and serving in our church. Dr. Boyse has a passion for implant dentistry, and much of his time out of the office is spent on continuing education both as a participant and as a lecturer. He is a respected speaker, lecturing for Biomet 3i and helping to educate dentists across the nation on topics ranging from dental implants to providing exceptional patient care.

Why I do what I do?Dr. Boyse loves his profession because it gives him the opportunity to improve peoples lives and be involved in the dental community. We have a community of great dentists in the Phoenix area, and it is a pleasure to be a part of their dental team. When I see people who are so embarrassed of their teeth that they avoid smiling, it gives me joy to help them regain their confidence to smile, laugh, and eat the foods they love.

Dr. Romneys determination to use his skills to help others and his dedication to advancement through education are perfectly suited to AZ Maxs mission to provide unsurpassed service and care to our patients.

A Mesa native, Dr. Romney graduated from the Valleys very own Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health at A.T. Still University in 2010, and was the first graduate of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency program at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital the first such program offered in the state of Arizona. After completing his residency, Dr. Romney stayed on as an attending doctor, instructing residents and dental students in all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Romney recalls being awakened at 3 a.m. when he was 16 years old by his father, who said Greg, I know that you love people and I think that you will be happiest if you work in something that will allow you to helpmake sure you educate yourself so that you can always be a help to those around you. This encouragement (especially at 3 a.m.) greatly affected the young Dr. Romney.

Dr. Romney knows that it can be difficult for people to seek surgical care. He heeds his fathers advice to help those around him by working with his team to make every effort to help patients feel comfortable.

As a young man growing up in Provo, Utah, Dr. Bradley Porter was first introduced to the practice of oral surgery during a visit to his best friends uncle. He says, After observing his practice, I knew it was what I wanted to do. His determination to become an oral surgeon remained with him through his undergraduate years at Brigham Young University and helped him excel in his studies at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society. He remained at the University of Iowa to complete his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Family LifeDr. Porter and his wife Jan were married in 1980. They have five children and several grandchildren. Their family has enjoyed traveling together to Hawaii, Ireland, and Australia. Dr. Porter is also an accomplished athlete, having completed numerous Ironman triathlons, including the World Championship in Hawaii as well as the Boston Marathon. He also enjoys mountaineering and has climbed some of the tallest mountains in the world.

Why I do what I do?Dr. Porter explains, I love oral surgery because of the variety of procedures I am able to perform from minor surgical procedures to major reconstructive cases. I get a lot of satisfaction from changing patients lives for the better.

Dr. Porter has held Board Certification since 1993 through the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. For him, Oral surgery is not just a job I cant imagine myself doing anything other than being an oral surgeon. Even at home he has been called upon to stitch up cuts for the neighborhood children. Once, he came to the rescue of a neighbors dog that had been hit by a car. He says, People trust me and know I have their best interests at heart.

So far so good... They haven't done anything yet, just a consultation but they did extract a tooth two years ago and I didn't die, so that's good right? Very professional and the experience is very good especially if you don't do well with tooth extractions. I'd recommend them every day ending in Y.

This place is pretty good. My boyfriend got his wisdom teeth removed, it went well and even added an extra tooth to extraction right before he went into surgery, But we had some hiccups, he went to the initial appointment, laid out his concerns, was assured it wouldn't be a problem, fast forward to the day of removal, we go in and because they couldnt get a hold of him, because they had his parents info, we dont know why, the anesthesiologist said she wasn't comfortable anesthetizing him due to aforementioned concerns and we had to do it in a hospital instead. Which tacked on a huge bill. And a good month or two added to the wait. Overall though, he got all the teeth removed and is healing well. We ultimately will recommend Dr. Romney to anyone we know who needs oral surgery because he is good at what he does and is very personable even though the miscommunication set our timeline back we got it done, and although they did mildly harass me for this review, we still like them. But regardless of all that I wanna give a huge shout out to Jen grant who is also incredible, her communication is fantastic, she gets back quickly and with answers. She gets the job done and does it we'll. Makes you feel she's prioritizing you with her actions not just her words. If she says she's gonna call you by the end of the day, she does. If she can't she lets you know. All around wonderful.
