Dr. Abbas Fazel is a 1977 graduate of the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in England where he earned his degree in Dental Surgery. He practiced in London, England for 8 years before moving to Arizona in 1985. After acquiring his DDS and license to practice in Arizona, he took over a practice in Mesa in January of 1986 where he practiced until 2006, when he sold that practice to focus on his second practice in Scottsdale, which he opened in 1989. He sold his Scottsdale practice in 2012 to dedicate his time to the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in East Mesa as adjunct faculty.
In 2015, he was hired as the Site and Clinical Director of The BrighterWay Dental Institute in downtown Phoenix where he supervised the fourth-year dental students on clinical rotation during their fourth year of Dental School. He also mentored dental graduates who pursued their Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) under his supervision at this Institute.
Dr. Fazel developed a keen interest in the field of implant dentistry early in his dental career. He first attended the International joint meeting of the British Dental Implant Association and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry at the Royal Society of Medicine in London, England in 1988. In 2008/2009, he completed an executive residency program at the University of Southern Californias Comprehensive Surgical and Restorative Implant Training Program. In the past ten years, Dr. Fazel has placed over 1500 dental implants.
Dr. Fazel is an active board member of two Arizona-based non-profit foundations. He is a long-standing member of the K2 Adventures Foundation, whose mission is to care for children, adults and families with special needs and/or life-changing medical and financial circumstances. K2 Adventures Foundation also supports and funds local and international educational and medical enrichment programs. He also serves on the board of Global Smiles for All, whose mission is to provide comprehensive dental care to the underserved, both locally and abroad. One of his prime accomplishments is establishing a dental clinic at the Mwereni School for the Blind and Orphanage located in the town of Moshi, Tanzania. The clinic services the dental needs of local children, many of whom are medically compromised and/or orphaned.
Dr. Fazel has been happily married to Valerie for the last 39 years and has three grown children Nadia is a dentist, Natasha is a physician, and Aaron completes his Earth and Environmental Studies degree Spring 2020 at ASU. Dr. Fazel enjoys the outdoors, travel, and plays tennis three to four days per week.

A truly wonderful Dental Clinic. They are really forward thinking when it comes to biological dentistry and it's so nice that they are not just trying to make money out of you. A breath of fresh air compared to others in the area who are only out to make money and upsell everything you don't need. Very friendly staff.

Arizona Dental Board Complaint filed. One year ago I had a root canal and two crowns performed by AZ Dental Lounge. The teeth did not feel right from the beginning but I thought they just needed time to heal. On and off over the past year the teeth would hurt then feel better. Then about a month ago they started to hurt and continued to get worse so I went back to AZ Dental to have them checked. The dentist took an x-ray and said she had no explanation for the pain and charged me for the visit. I felt unsatisfied with the consultation and called asking to speak with someone in charge. No one called back. The next day I went to another dentist. He found gaps in both crowns resulting in food and bacteria getting trapped and decaying the teeth under the crowns. I am now forced to have the crowns replaced or depending on the amount of decay, have the teeth removed and implants put in costing thousands. I have called AZ Dental multiple times with no response back. My construction contractor warranties his work for two years shouldn't my dentist.

AZ Dental Lounge I have been going to since 2014 excellent cleanings etc. for myself snd my daughter. The Staff is great and it is nice to have been able to stay going to the same dentist now for 7 years.

The staff is very friendly and efficient. I showed up at my appointed time and was in the chair in two minutes. Pain free dentistry. Their pricing is very fair and consistent with the market.

Absolutely one of the best dental experiences I have had. Each and every staff is attentive, friendly and actually cares about your overall experience, oh and they listen. This was my first time going to see them and they made me feel like I've been seeing them for years. Setting and environment is great. Very calming and welcoming. The best cleaning I have had and with zero pain and zero discomfort. The best thing is the Dr. he actually loves his profession and you can see it the minute you meet him and the best part, He believes in the adage of "if It isn't broken, don't fix it". I've been to many dentists, where after the first visit I walk out with a list of issues I should be tending to. Not here. They focused in on my actual dental health and gave great suggestions. Far different than any other experience. If you hate going to the dentist like I DID, give this team a try. They are great. You will not be disappointed.
