Dr. Eric Axelrode received his B.A. in economics from U.C. Santa Cruz. He received his DDS from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco. Dr. Eric completed a year of general practice residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Portland Oregon, treating medically compromised patients. He practiced general dentistry in Oakland and San Pablo for three years prior to completing his orthodontic residency at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco. During his residency he earned his certificate and Master of Science in Dentistry. Dr. Eric brings a unique approach in delivering excellent orthodontic care while understanding first hand the needs of the general dentist.
Dr. Eric and his wife, Monica, have two children, Jean-Luc and Leah. He is a native of Orinda and graduated from Miramonte High School. After studying in various places, he wanted to return to his roots to raise a family. Dr. Eric and his family live in Moraga, and enjoy being part of the community both personally and professionally. He enjoys spending time with his family, mountain biking, skiing and traveling.
Dr. Mark Axelrode received his B.A. in biology from U.C. San Diego. He received his DDS from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco where he was elected to the dental honor society, and attended UCLA for his orthodontic residency where he earned his certificate and Master of Science in Oral Biology. Dr. Mark has been practicing orthodontics since 1994, and enjoys providing outstanding care to his patients.
Please join us in welcoming Dr Niousha Sagafi to our practice. Dr. Saghafis educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in General Biology with a minor in Psychology from the University of California at San Diego. Following graduation she worked at a research laboratory in San Diego studying neuron regeneration before starting her dental training. Dr. Saghafi earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UCSF School of Dentistry is San Francisco. She then moved to Seattle to complete her orthodontic residency at the University of Washington where she earned a Certificate in Orthodontics and Masters of Science in Dentistry. After her residency, Dr. Saghafi successfully completed the American Board of Orthodontics certification exam. She practiced orthodontics in Oregon before making her way back to the Bay Area. Dr. Saghafi has extensive knowledge in treating patients using both traditional braces and Invisalign. She stays current on the latest dental procedures and technology through continuing education programs and scientific journals. In her spare time Dr. Saghafi enjoys reading both fiction and nonfiction books, cooking, baking, and traveling.

Great service - from the front desk to the orthodontists and everywhere in between. They do a good job of explaining everything to both the parent and child.

Horrible experience at this place. You never know which doctor your going to get. Marc says one thing and his brother Eric says another. Too make matters worse, I lost a child and this heartless office wouldnt be patient with me. In the end I paid almost 6k for Invisalign, which is at the very high end, they refunded me 1k and now I have to pay a new Ortho 1800 dollars to open a case just to make me a retainer. Go to Dr. Campbell on H street in Benicia or Chun Ortho on Military. I wished I had listened to all the local Benicians and chose one of those Orthos. They do exceptional work and have done everyone of my friends and family members. Also if you are adament about invisalign, many dentists, including Carquinez dental can do them for much less and will treat you like family. If you want metal braces, Dr. Campbell is exceptional and about 2k cheaper. They have recently opened an office in Benicia where my family has lived for 50 years. Too bad, we dont need a lousy business like this taking up Jerry Reed's old office on Main Street. See the similar complaints on Yelp. Rude, dont listen, etc.

Update - Since Drs. Axelrode and Dr. Rocha have stepped into Dr. Freer's location, I've been very impressed with the transition. All 3 Docs are professional, on time and do great work. The Invisalign services have been impressive too. I highly recommend Axelrode Orthodontics in Vallejo. First Review from 2013: Dr. Freer does great work.
