Our dental practice has been providing dental care to families in the Greater Hartford area and beyond, for more than thirty years. We take pride in building lifelong relationships with our patients. Our entire team puts an emphasis on preventive dental care and education. We strive to provide our patients with the information necessary to reach their optimal dental health. The objective being to inform them of the important relationship between oral and overall health. Our goal is to provide quality, conservative dental treatment tailored to meet individual needs. At Avon Village Family Dentistry our dedicated team delivers compassionate and comprehensive care. This practice utilizes state of the art technologies in a clean and comfortable environment. Our staff is committed to providing our patients with personalized care and service, therefore making visits as pleasant as possible.
Sam is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. She has a passion for general dentistry with a special focus on restorative and esthetic procedures. During dental school, Dr. Weston participated in a service trip to the Galapagos Islands where she helped provide much needed dental care to the residents of Isabela Island. She looks forward to participating in more service trips as her career continues. Upon graduation, Dr. Weston received the Academy of General Dentistrys Senior Student Dental Award, as well as recognition by the American Academy of Implant Dentistry for excellence in implant dentistry. She was also awarded the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistrys Student Award of Merit.
Dr. Weston was raised in Farmington with her twin sister. She completed her undergraduate degree at University of Connecticut, earning a Bachelors Degree in biological sciences. Sam now lives in West Hartford. In her free time, Dr. Weston enjoys cooking, baking, and spending time with family and friends. She also takes every opportunity to travel, with her favorite destinations including Iceland and South Africa.

At my age I have been to 6 different Dentist and never experiences such a warm and caring group of professional. Every appointment I found everyone, from the front office, to the Doctors, to be very professional, caring individuals and always concerned with how I am doing, during as well as after the appointment. Thank you all for caring. It's hard to believe I actually look forward to going to Avon Village Family Dentistry, Why because I get treated like a human being, not a number, and they all care about my well being. The Doctors are always checking on how I am doing after a tooth extraction. Yes, Avon Village Family Dentistry is a wonderful experience. Thank you for all that you do for your patients. Mark

I have been coming to this practice for as long as I can remember. I think it's the only dental practice I have ever used. Probably one reason I have never been terrified of the dentist is because I have never had a bad experience. Even when I moved further away it has always been worth the drive and staying with this practice (which reminds me I'm overdue to make an appointment haha). I've seen the office change so much over the years-people have left, new people arrived, office has upgraded and renovated. One thing that hasn't changed, is the quality of work and standard of care they provide to all patients. I have referred a couple of people here over the years for bonding and some other dental work other offices had done a poor job with and they couldn't have been more thrilled with the results after Dr Mentasti worked her magic. Every dental hygienist has been great when I've come in for a cleaning. Dr Sagalyn I have known since I needed my first cleaning and was the person who repaired my front tooth the first time I cracked it in half on a kayak oar one summer as a kid. Always so kind. Dr Mentasti fixed a few small issues with my teeth years back (when she was new to the office I believe, which says just how long I've been going to this office) and went above and beyond providing me with stellar results that overall made my teeth look better from a cosmetic standpoint too. Gaps in teeth I had she worked magic with and gave me an even better smile. Since then I've had some extensive work done to my teeth from an incident where I sustained several fractures/cracks to upper and bottom teeth. Dr Weston got me into the office one Saturday (a day later) to do a temporary repair since I had a couple of large fractures to front teeth and had work Monday. Forever grateful. Dr Mentasti has since done further work on my teeth and I frankly don't think I could ever trust anyone else to do bonding, etc. She understood concerns I had and truly cared about me wanting to feel good about how my teeth looked and felt. After the traumatic incident that damaged my teeth I didn't think my teeth would look the same again. Thanks to her, I am not afraid to smile again and get compliments on how nice my teeth look (if only people knew just how much bonding was holding things together haha).Since then she's fixed a couple of minor things, but honestly has truly been a life saver. She gave me my smile and some confidence back after a truly traumatizing incident. Everyone in the office has always been helpful and accommodating with appointments. Nick in billing helped me immensely awhile back with some documents I needed and went above and beyond. I've never once had an issue or complaint. Highly recommend Avon Village Family Dentistry for your dental needs.

The AVFD practice went above and beyond recently to accommodate my needs. They provided or arranged the treatment for my dental problem in a professional, timely, caring manner. I was seen by AVFD the same day I called with tooth pain, the office then arranged for me to see the endodontist that afternoon. This was lifesaving as it was a Friday and I didn't have to wait days before getting my pain treated. Unfortunately it was discovered the type of fracture I had meant the tooth required extraction. I was evaluated by a local oral surgeon the next week, their office said the next available date was 2 months away! A month later the pain returned, Dr Weston attempted to have the original oral surgeon schedule an urgent appointment. When that was not accommodated Dr Weston was able to arrange an extraction with Dr Emily King that day. I would also give a 5 ***** rating to Dr Kings' West Hartford Oral Surgery practice !
