Our highly experienced doctors and surgical staff diagnoses and treats the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, from dental implants and wisdom teeth removal to facial trauma. Dr. Stuart E. Lieblich, Dr. Mark C. Fletcher, Dr. Daniel J. Gill, and Dr. Riccardo I. Ambrogio offer personalized treatment in a comfortable, safe, and calming environment. At our practice, each patient receives treatment customized to them. We use the most advanced technology, including digital 3D scanning to reduce radiation exposure and ensure an efficient and accurate diagnosis and surgical plan.

To uphold our high standards for surgical excellence, every surgeon at our practice is board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). To have all four of our surgeons uphold this honorable certification demonstrates the skill and attention to detail that they put into the patient care and experience.

The surgical staff at Avon Oral, Facial and Dental Implant Surgery are experienced, certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants who assist our surgeons in the administration of IV sedation and surgery. We also have trained registered nurses to assist in surgery. All staff members are CPR-certified and all doctors are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Our insurance department has vast experience in claims procedures and is always here to answer questions.

We have three offices located in Central Connecticut to serve our patients and referral community. You can find us on the westside of Hartford in Avon, on the southeast side of Hartford in Glastonbury, and north of the city in Enfield.

Dr. Lieblich was an avid science student and knew from an early age that he wanted to pursue a profession in the sciences. Oral Surgery seemed the perfect choice with its combination of medicine and dentistry, so he was bound for dental school. During his training, an esteemed professor and mentor inspired Dr. Lieblich to go into oral surgery to make a larger impact on improving peoples lives while utilizing a variety of hands-on skills and medical and scientific methodologies.

Dr. Lieblich is on the medical staff at Hartford Hospital, Connecticut Childrens Medical Center, St. Francis Hospital, John Dempsey Hospital (University of Connecticut Health Center), and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.

Dr. Lieblich is board-certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). He has served as a director and president of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology (ASDA) and following a 6-year term as a member of the examination committee of ABOMS (chair of the medicine and anesthesia sections), he was elected to an 8-year term of the ABOMS board of directors (President 20092010).

Dr. Lieblich has been certified by Stemodontics and proudly offers this service to his patients. After a wisdom tooth removal procedure, patients can have their stem cells harvested and stored in a laboratory where they may later be used to fight against illness or disease.

When Dr. Lieblich is not serving the patients at Avon Oral, Facial and Implant Surgery, he is dedicated to yearly medical missions to Haiti, enjoys staying very active in academics, and speaking and writing about his passion for the practice of oral surgery. He has been a contributor to over 20 textbooks and recently co-authored the textbook Anesthesia Complications in the Dental Office. He has published over 45 peer-reviewed papers and abstracts. As an invited speaker at conferences throughout the United States, he has presented his research at international scientific meetings with focuses on ambulatory anesthesia, dental implants, dentoalveolar surgery, and periapical surgery. Dr. Lieblich is on the editorial boards of the journals Anesthesia Progress; Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology (Triple O); and the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (section editor, Anesthesia/Facial Pain). He regularly reviews articles for the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and General Dentistry.

Dr. Lieblich serves on many local, state, and national committees in his specialty and currently is a member of the American Dental Associations Commission on Accreditation (oral and maxillofacial surgery) and is co-chair of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Parameters of Care Committee. He is currently a co-PI on a national multicenter study on the use of antibiotics for elective oral surgical procedures.

A Connecticut native, Dr. Fletcher was raised in Huntington and is a graduate of Fairfield Prep. From a young age, Dr. Fletcher aspired to become a surgeon so that he could have a lasting positive impact on peoples lives. Dr. Fletcher would like his Avon Oral, Facial and Dental Implant Surgery patients to know that they will always be treated like family, given every opportunity to be reassured about their treatment, and offered the respect and attention they deserve. Listening closely to the needs of our patients, as well as providing safe and excellent care, are core values that are shared by all the doctors in the practice. The privilege to provide a service that will not only help improve oral function but also to help our patients feel better about themselves is truly humbling.

Dr. Fletchers professional interests span both hospital-based and office-based surgical procedures, including reconstructive and corrective jaw surgery, oral and maxillofacial pathology, and dental implant reconstruction. He is an active member of the maxillofacial trauma team at Hartford Hospital and Connecticut Childrens Medical Center. Dr. Fletcher has authored articles and book chapters in his field and serves as an editorial reviewer for the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Dental Association and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and currently serves on the executive board of the Connecticut Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. Fletcher is a Clinical Assistant Professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and serves as the section head of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Hartford Hospital.

Dr. Fletcher is board-certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) and is a diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesia (NDBA). In 2017, Dr. Fletcher was inducted into Fellowship in the prestigious American College of Surgeons (FACS), founded in 1913 to improve the quality of care for the surgical patient by setting high standards for surgical education and practice.

Dr. Fletcher lives in West Simsbury, CT, with his wife, Jennifer, and their son, Jack. Together with his family and friends, Dr. Fletcher enjoys all the great things that New England has to offer, including sailing, skiing, and golf.

Dr. Gill was raised in New Hampshire and was interested from an early age in the workings of the human body and how disease or injury affects people physically and mentally. Going into medicine was an obvious choice for him. He became hooked on oral surgery when he found himself deeply fascinated and in awe of his UCLA dental professors lectures on the depth of skill required in the oral and maxillofacial surgery profession, and how the combined expertise of medicine and dentistry in oral surgery can completely restore form and function and change lives for the better.

Dr. Gill was a student of Drs. Lieblich and Fletcher at the University of Connecticut during his residency and was thrilled when the doctors asked him to join Avon Oral, Facial and Implant Surgery. The practice is well known in the community and at the university for its excellent patient-focused care and safe, professional environment. Dr. Gill would like his patients to know that listening to their needs is his priorityhe addresses his patients concerns directly so that they are completely comfortable with their treatment plan before any work begins. Finally, he would like to express that he truly loves his workthere is nothing more fulfilling to him than restoring smiles with a beautiful dental implant or multiple implants to replace missing or problematic teeth.

In addition to his work at the practice, Dr. Gill has recently co-authored a book chapter with Dr. Lieblich in the Atlas of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinics of North America on Orthodontic Skeletal Anchorage Applications. Dr. Gill is an active member of the Hartford Hospital and Connecticut Childrens Medical Center Maxillofacial and Craniofacial Trauma teams, where he helps people who have sustained severe injuries to obtain an optimal functional and cosmetic result.

Dr. Daniel Gill earned a BA in economics with distinction and a minor in biology from the University of Virginia in 2000. He attended UCLA School of Dentistry, graduating cum laude with a DDS degree in 2007. Dr. Gill earned his MD degree at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in 2010.

Throughout his training, Dr. Gill has been the recipient of several academic honors and scholarships. He received the AAOMS Dental Implant Student Award in 2007, as well as the Horace Wells Senior Student Award for outstanding achievement in the field of dental anesthesiology. He completed his final year in the 6-year University of Connecticut integrated oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program in June 2013, which included 2 years of general surgery residency.

Consistent with our practice philosophy, Dr. Gill maintains a strong dual interest in clinical practice and academic involvement. He became board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) in 2016. Dr. Gill is certified by Stemodontics and proudly offers stem cell services to his patients. Now, his patients can bank their stem cells today to preserve their health in the future.

Dr. Gill is a New Hampshire native. He and his wife, Christina, currently reside in West Hartford with their three young children, Addie, Elyse, and Brady. In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors: running, mountain biking, and spending time with his family.

About 4 years ago I had a plate and screws taken out of my jaw where i have tons of severe nerve damage from a severely broken mandible that was broken in 4 different places. The hardware had begun to reject and had to be removed, drilled out of my jaw bone and cut out of where I have tons of persistent pain from this severe injury and the damage associated with it (I came there already with crippling nerve pain as it was even beforehand from the trauma from the breaks and the hardware shifting in my face and mouth); was told to take Tylenol. This was not an implant or a tooth extraction. This was a re-corrective oral surgery from severely broken bones (from multiple fractures) and hardware. There's no point in not helping. There's also no point in over-helping. Find a middle ground for your patients with severe pain from oral SURGERY. This is not okay. What do you think people do in a situation like this? Well most of them; they "help" themselves. That's dangerous. I know you wouldn't do this to a family member or yourself; why is it okay to do this to a paying patient? Or you just pick and choose at your own will who you decide to properly help and properly manage their pain? I know people that have come here for lesser issues; and had their pain properly managed. So it must have been the latter since they had flat out refused to help me after pleading with them close to 5 separate times. Come here if you want to see the Hippocratic Oath broken in real time. I was in writhing pain unable to eat for close to a week, contacted them multiple times, was told the same thing each time. "Take Tylenol and ibuprofen"..... Uhm I just had surgery where I have severe nerve damage from a very serious injury.... You think someone having to go drink vodka with an underlying seizure disorder to be able to talk and sleep for a week is standard procedure? I'm not sitting at home screaming in tortuous pain. I could not even speak or sleep for nearly a week. Flat out dangerous and irresponsible on these healthcare "professionals" part. Especially after just being put under (these drugs lower the seizure threshold for anesthesia), a person with a history of seizures should never feel like their only option for pain is to walk to the corner liquor store. Not right. Not right at all.

The doctor was okay. and the dental implant procedure went okay, but the office staff are extremely inefficient and prone to making mistakes. I was charged for services for which I shouldn't have been charged, and office staff were virtually impossibile to contact when I endeavored to rectify problems wih my bill. They say they'll return your call, but they don't, or they say they're always in meetings and can't get back to you until days later. Or they say the only person who can help you is on vacation. They also hand you off to different people who have no grasp of the problem, so you have to start from scratch in explaining your issue. It's bad enough having to deal with a dental problem and the absolutely outrageous fee associated with said problem, but then come to find you also have to deal with a sub par office staff. Grrr! I just finished reading other people's reviews here and noticed office responses were boilerplate. This just goes to show they only pay lip service to customer complaints. No personalized touch.

Never did i ever think having a 7 year old little girls tooth out would be so wonderful. Every single one of the many staff members in the room for her anesthesia, etc were amazing. They took me out for five min during the actual procedure and afterward made my little girl waking up etc so peaceful. They were nice. Sweet. Knew what to do for a little person. The doctor was flawless. There's no place to go but here for oral surgery procedures. A+++++

I had a similar issue to another patient who gave a 1 star review. I was informed that my insurance was accepted but never told it would be out-of-network. I paid a hefty amount the day of the procedure. The person at front desk told me they didn't know how much my insurance would cover but that I would receive a refund if I overpaid (mind you I made the appointment a month in advance). Then received a bill in the mail 4 months later for an even higher amount because my out-of-network benefits were basically non-existent. If I had known this office was not in network I would not have gone through with the visit. However, I must give credit to the very kind staff who performed the extractions and who patiently answered my questions post-procedure.

Dr. Fletcher and his assistants are excellent in performing a tooth implant on me. I was anxious in the beginning and they made me feel as comfortable as circumstances allowed. Anesthesia was administered locally and there was no pain in the process. Recovery, as they predicted, was quite manageable - salt water rinse, antibiotics, OTC painkillers, etc. Today is day 2 and I am almost back to normal. It will take time for the bone growth process but so far so good. Thank you for the expert care, Dr. Fletcher & Team.

They sent us a bill a year after I paid for everything in cash. Then refused to talk to us about the bill, and sent us to collections! Don't go here unless you like your credit being held hostage by a bunch of greedy dentist!

I referred myself to Avon Oral Surgery's office after the amazing experience my son had with his impacted wisdom teeth removal. He loved the staff, barely bled, and had a fast recovery. But I am the world's biggest baby when it comes to dental work. I get nightmares over a simple cleaning (People: do NOT allow your children to watch the 1996 horror movie "The Dentist"). So, you can imagine the drama when an ancient root canal suddenly erupted into a full-blown infection causing my face to blow up like a cabbage patch kid underwater. I didn't know pain could hurt so bad! I dialed Avon Oral Surgery like it was 911. They immediately called in a prescription of amoxicillin which dulled the pain overnight and managed to get me in early the next business day. They probably saved my life. Dr. Fletcher extracted the tooth, repaired my missing jaw bone, and cleared up my infection. He made me feel comfortable, patiently explained the entire process to me, and told me to hurry back for an implant. After my successful healing, the gaping hole (the ghost of tooth #14) haunted me for nearly 2 years before I finally went back to Dr. Fletcher to schedule a dental implant. Even though I trusted Avon Oral's office, it's easy to put off having a screw twisted up through your gums into your jaw bone. I was PETRIFIED of getting an implant - all of the horror stories I'd read online were playing on repeat in my head as I sat down in the chair for my surgery. I fell asleep and minutes later woke up with a shiny new screw in my jaw. I went home and waited for the pain. And waited. And waited. But I never felt pain! I weened myself off the Tylenol within 24 hours and still felt nothing. I NEVER. FELT. A. THING. How is this even possible? Magic, I tell you. In the months following, I felt the strength in my jaw return as the bone fused around the screw. My only regret is not having it done sooner. Losing a tooth is a traumatic experience--But going to Avon Oral Surgery's office turned a tragedy into a 5-star review. If I could collect every star in the universe I would give them ALL of the stars. The staff are professional and patient. The office is clean and cheerful. They made me feel like they genuinely cared about me. I felt like a child being soothed by a parent. I was eating a salad the other day and broke a plastic fork with my molars. The sound jolted me, and I thought to myself "You probably just cracked a tooth, you're gonna end up losing this one too and getting another implant." Then I shrugged and thought "Oh well - I'll just go back to Avon Oral Surgery and get it fixed." It was then that I knew I was cured of all my childhood fear. Thank you, Dr. Fletcher and company. I am so grateful for everything you have done for me!!

Dr Gill did my wisdom tooth surgery in 2018 and he did such an amazing job, not even any swelling and pain whatsoever. He was very good at explaining the procedure and helping me feel less nervous. Highly recommend him to anyone getting their wisdom teeth out!

Dr. Mark Fletcher was very busy with our family this year, as my wife needed a dental implant and both my sons needed wisdom teeth extracted. They were all great experience all around: the office is professional, warm and friendly, the surgeries went extremely well, and the recovery time was brief. We obviously did our homework selecting an Oral Maxillofacial surgeon, and glad we chose Dr. Mark Fletcher.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! Dr Gill and his staff were very professional and caring! Both of my children (15 and 17) had all 4 wisdom teeth removed at the same time, with back to back appointments. Dr Gill explained everything and was very patient. His staff stayed w one of my children the whole time after their procedure, while the other one went next. I'm extremely happy that I found this office. I would recommend them to anyone that asks! Thank you Dr Gill and staff. I appreciate everything you did for my children!!! You are all amazing!!!

Amazing people running a great practice. From the front desk staff to the nurses and the doctors, you feel like part of the family from the first phone call. Procedure was explained well and was executed with efficiency and compassion. Take home care was explained well and followed up with well written orders in case you forget. Follow up phone calls just to check in with the patient really show their level of care. Avon Oral, Facial and Dental Implant Surgery is an a safe, clean, and caring facility that I would bring myself or anyone in my care to again.
