Dr. Velazquez graduated cum laude with a Bachelor Degree in Biology in 1995 from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. In 1999, he obtained his cum laude Dental Medical Doctor degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Dentistry, where obtained honor awards and scholarships and graduated in the top five percent of his class.
In 1999, Dr. Velazquez continued a General Practice Residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center. After finishing his residency, Dr. Velazquez practiced as an associate in several offices in the Miami-Dade area before starting his own practice in Coral Gables in 2000.
Dr. Velazquez completed over 100 hours of continuing education in dental implant surgery at the Robert Morgan School and in 2004 completed 144 hours at the Miami Implant Dentistry Continuum, perfecting the specialty of Surgical Implant Placement.
Dr. Velazquez also has completed a year of Continue Education Studies at Robert Morgan School in the specialty of Endodontics (root canals). He is a Graduate from Progressive Orthodontics Seminars and a graduate from the advanced studies in Dentofacial Orthodontics. Other studies include, Cosmetic Dentistry, Veneers, Invisalign, Nitrous Oxide Conscious Sedation, Cerec Crowns, Periodontics, Botox, Sleep Dentistry.
Dr. Velazquez and his staff always work very hard to learn how to best serve their patients that call AVM Dentistry their Dental Home. He is the President and Director of AVM Dental Assistant School in Coral Gables, FL.

Thoroughly enjoyed my visits here at this Dentistry office. All of the staff from the receptionist, dental hygienist, assistant and Dr. Velazquez were very welcoming and lively. They do a diligent job of answering any and all questions I asked and easing any concerns I had. We all know getting dental work is not always the most pleasant experience but they do all they can to make you feel comfortable...I was able to select my own musical playlist which can make a huge difference when you're getting your wisdom teeth pulled. Ha! The feel of the office is very modern, clean with up-to-date equipment, as well as the precautions they take to ensure everything is sterile. Once again I thoroughly enjoyed it here, I've come here for multiple procedures ranging from X-Rays, Dental Exams, Cleanings, Fillings, and Tooth Extractions and I plan to keep coming back. Thank you and special shout-out to Raquel for being such a pleasant nice person to deal with.

This dentist was awesome. I was scared after not being to the dentist for years but after realized I had nothing to worry about. I had a chip tooth and cavities. The dentist made me feel comfortable through everything and was extremely patient with me, even with all my questions and concerns. Most importantly the finished work was perfect. A huge thanks to AVM Dentistry for making me enjoy going to the dentist again

Although dental visits are known for being dreadful, I do enjoy my visits to AVM. While I can't say I truly enjoy the entire cleaning(why do dental tools make the most frightening and ear ringing sounds?), the staff is phenomenal and so sweet. From the hygienists to the front desk, I love chatting with them. They do fantastic work and I always leave smiling for more reason than one!

Bro when I say the service and treatment is godly that's a total understatement these people are the absolute best went there for a wisdom tooth extraction literally in and out in 10 minutes with zero pain the next day I could not have asked for a better experience in my life
