Dr. Avery has been in the Waukegan community since 2011. She has established a dental practice that is patient centered and dedicated to patient care and comfort. She wants every patient to feel as though they are part of the family. Avery Family Dentistry delivers high quality dentistry in a safe and welcoming atmosphere.
Dr. Avery attended DePaul University in Chicago, IL and graduated with Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology. After graduating from DePaul, she remained in Chicago and worked as a social worker for six years. Although she enjoyed her experience in social work, she maintained aspirations for a career in healthcare, which led her to eventually pursue dentistry.
Dr. Avery graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry with her Doctor of Dental Surgery. Dr. Avery enjoys being active in the profession and is a member of several professional and community organizations. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Greater Milwaukee Dental Association, including serving as President. Dr. Avery serves as Co-Chair of the mentorship program sponsored by the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the Wisconsin Dental Association and Marquette University School of Dentistry. She has also organized multiple Give Kids A Smile Day and Head Start Dental Day, which provide free dental screenings and treatment for underserved children in the Milwaukee area. Dr. Avery is serving as Wisconsin Dental Association Trustee, representing the greater Milwaukee area. Most recently, Dr. Avery was appointed to serve on the American Dental Associations Council on Dental Education and Licensure. Dr. Avery stays up to date with the profession and takes various continuing education courses throughout the year. She is an elected member of the Milwaukee Dental Forum, Milwaukees oldest dental study club.

My name is Denise and I have been a member of the Avery Family Dentistry team since March of 2014. I was born and raised in Waukegan I am bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish. I enjoy working in the dental profession and getting to know our family of patients here at Avery Family Dentistry. I attended DeVry University in Gurnee, IL and the College of Lake County in Grayslake, IL in pursuit of my Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources.
I have been a member of the Avery Family Dentistry team since January of 2021. I have worked as a Dental Assistant for over 2 years and realized that I have a great passion for the profession. I have decided to continue my education part time and plan to pursue a career as a dental hygienist. I love meeting patients at Avery Family Dentistry and hearing their stories.
I have been a member of Avery Family Dentistry since July of 2021. I have been assisting for two years and I love what I do. My favorite part of my job is coming in and learning something new everyday. I also enjoy interacting with all of the great patients we have. In my free time I enjoy working out, and hanging out with my friends and family.
I have been a member of the Avery Family Dentistry team since August of 2021. I completed my Bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene at Southern Illinois University. I enjoy working in dentistry and love helping everyone get shiny teeth after their cleanings! I am bilingual in both English and Spanish, I am also trying to learn French or Italian. In my free time I love working out and trying to go on hiking trails. I also love going to new restaurants. I also like going to museums and love reptiles!

I am very happy that I chose Avery Family Dentistry for my dental care. The office is state of the art, modern, and very clean. The staff are friendly, greet you by name when you walk in, even on the first visit. The exam was thorough and the doctor sat down with me in a separate room where I could sit at a consultation table with her & view my x-rays and pictures on the computer screen. She explained the work that needed to be done and why it was important and constructed a plan for completion of the work. She was respectful of the expenses and what insurance covers & gave me clear information on what charges to expect before any work was done. The cleaning that was done on my second visit was the best I've ever received. I had fillings and a crown done today, and while I can't say it was pleasant, I can say they did all they could to make it as comfortable as possible. I absolutely recommend Dr. Avery & her staff!

My experience: was excellent from the moment I walked in the door, I felt comfortable as if I had been to this facility for years and it was my first time. I felt they really took care of my needs, I left feeling like smiling all day. I will definitely recommend my friends and family, very professional to say the least!!!!!

Dr. Avery is top shelf. I've had 2 visits. Her staff are amazing. I never thought I could learn so much more about my teeth. I was giving a complete plan of action. Denise in the front office is great! Chelsea did my cleaning, very thorough, I appreciated all the info she gave. Thank you!

I've been going to Dr.Avery for over 5yrs. I can genuinely say she's the BEST dentist I've ever gone to. Dr.Avery & her friendly staff from the receptionist to the dental techs are amazing. Very clean & professional atmosphere. The staff's communication is very detailed & understandable. Dr. Avery is a great dentist . She and her team are kind, considerate, friendly, and helpful. I had some extensive work done, and Dr. Avery was genuinely concerned to the point that she had consulted with my other health care providers. I gave her 5 stars because her work was pain-free and excellent. Her follow-up phone call was informative and reassuring. I recommend Dr Avery to anyone who needs dental care!

I recently got my teeth cleaned at this location. It was the best experience I've had in any dental office. Everyone is always smiling and friendly, especially Giselle, she was very helpful and informative with any question I asked. She was the best dental assistant, she provided service with a smile. I would recommend to a friend/family. I'll definitely be back for my next appointment.
