Dr. Elenis educational credentials are extensive. She has several degrees, all from Columbia University in the city of New York. After finishing her undergraduate degree there, she went on to complete dental school, earning her DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree as well as an MPH (Master of Public Health). She then completed a rigorous three-year residency program after dental school, which earned her a second masters degree as well as a certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.

Dr. Elenis insatiable curiosity led her to become involved in scientific research throughout her entire education and professional training. She has been invited to present her research findings at several dental and medical conferences around the nation and has published her work in many well-respected scientific journals. Her research has covered several areas of health ranging from public health to dermatology. She discovered several genes that are responsible for abnormal tooth development and contribute to the overall scientific understanding of why and how teeth are formed. Dr. Eleni also investigated treatments for tuberculosis and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). She also searched for (and found) genetic underpinnings of a dermatological disease.

Dr. Eleni is certainly a distinguished professional, but she is most proud of having received the most important honor of all the recommendation of her patients. She was recently voted one of the Favorite Docs and Healthcare Professionals in Hudson Valley Parent Magazine. That means that her patients trust and like her, and would recommend her to others.

Dr. Eleni is not just an orthodontist; she is a dynamic and well-rounded woman. She is a dancer and was a member of a dance company for many years. She is also a certified kickboxing instructor and loves to exercise. She enjoys cooking, reading, traveling and spending time with her family, and loves to take advantage of the incredible resources that New York City has to offer.

Dr. Abraham is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, an accomplishment attained by only a small group of practicing orthodontists across the country. He also received the Award of Excellence from the American Student Dental Association.

Dr. Abraham also received several honors related to research work. His research findings from his thesis project were not only published in but featured on the front cover of the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics, a well-respected scientific publication. He presented research at both Columbia University and SUNY Stony Brook. The American Board of Orthodontics selected Dr. Abrahams board cases to exhibit at their annual meeting.

Dr. Abraham has demonstrated his compassion through his involvement in many outreach organizations to underserved communities. One of the highlights of this service was a two-week dental mission to Jamaica. On this trip, he treated children and adults in schools and churches across the country who otherwise would not have had access to dental care. This was a transformative and enriching experience.

Dr. Abraham was also his dental school chapters Vice President of the Smile Train, an organization that raises funds for surgeons who repair cleft lips and palates in underserved communities around the world.

He is currently the Vice President of Columbia Universitys College of Dental Medicine Alumni Executive Committee. Additionally, he is a Social Ambassador for Columbia University College of Dental Medicines Giving Day and was also the co-founder of a student-run clinic that provided free dental services to underserved communities.

Dr. Abraham loves orthodontics, but he also loves other aspects of his life. He grew up in a small town in Washington state, but now enjoys the vibrant life of New York City. He likes to play basketball and tennis. He also enjoys cooking and spending time with his family. His relationships with his patients are an important part of his life, and he enjoys getting to know all of the people who walk through the door of Avenue Orthodontics. I am a lifelong learner constantly seeking to expand my understanding, knowledge, and skills. Orthodontics is a field that involves continual developments in materials, techniques, and technologies. I spend in excess of 100 hours a year on continuing education. By staying abreast of the changes, I am able to ensure that my patients receive the highest level and quality of care possible.

Im originally from Oceanside, Long Island, and have called Port Washington home for nearly 20 years. Away from work, I am most often found with my wife Karen, and children, Nina and Ethan, as well as our dog, Dexter. Being with my family and friends is important to me. I also enjoy working out, meditation, and restoring antiques.
