Many people often wake up tired. They feel grouchy and out of sorts. Being tired throughout the day is a common but dismal disfunction. We can sometimes have trouble on the job or fall asleep when we should be working. Worse, some drive exhausted, which, as we all know, is worse than driving under the influence of alcohol and can cause accidents. Sleep deprivation can also lead to depression, where some people find themselves on pills for the first time.
We think we've slept through the night but never get into a solid REM sleep cycle so our body can repair itself. Night after night, our body struggles to breathe. It is forced to forgo much-needed daily repair and gets suffocated.
Hi! I 'm Howard J. Hoffman, D.D.S. Actually, my patients and even friends call me Doc H. You may remember hearing me talking about conscious sedation on the radio, which earned me another nickname, 'Miami 's original sedation dentist.' I am a member of the American Academy of Physiological Medicine and Dentistry (AAPMD).
I, too, started out as a big-time snorer! Like most people, I didn't know anything about sleep apnea until I was introduced to it at a TMJ course in 1997. I started treatment and was amazed when it made me feel better. I had more energy, could think more clearly, and felt more positive.
My wife, Judy and I are the proud grandparents of four amazing grandchildren. They are the stars in our eyes! The oldest is beginning middle school and the youngest has just turned one. At the ages of 11, 7, 3 and 1, they keep us busy.

It is a challenge to express the full extent of my high regard for Dr. Hoffman and his practice. As a patient of twelve years I have never received less than uniformly excellent care, treatment and service. Dr Hoffman is a consummate practitioner, always meticulous, considerate, accessible and professional. I consider Dr. Hoffman to be the Frank Sinatra of dentistry, i.e. the Super Star of his profession.

Dr. Hoffman is the best! No one enjoys dental procedures, but Dr. Hoffman made me feel comfortable and secure! No more phobia about the dentist! I now have the smile I've always wanted! VF

The work done on my teeth was fantastic - I didn't think it was possible for teeth like mine to end up looking so good. I was worried when I went in that I would be an impossible case but after seeing before and after pictures of his work I decided to go forward and I am glad I did. One thing that I really liked was that I didn't feel rushed.
