Dr. Gitron was born in Argentina and in 1999 graduated from the National University of Rosario. After finishing her AEGD (Advanced Education of general Dentistry) at Argentinian Dental Association, she moved to Israel and became licensed to practice Dentistry in that country.
After practicing in Israel, she decided to attend an Advanced Endodontic program at Columbia University in New York, where she became proficient in root canal treatments. She graduated from University of Pennsylvania School of dentistry in 2008 with a Degree as a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD).
Dr. Gitron considers whole body dentistry vital to the pursuit of overall health and often sees fit to discuss the well being of her patients with their other health care providers such as dental specialists. She prides herself on patient education and making a positive and lasting impression on her patients.
I believe that every person deserves not only a beautiful but a healthy smile. As your dentist, it is my job to help you achieve this. Think of me more than your dentist I am your partner and I am passionate about forming long-lasting partnerships with my clients that lead to long-lasting dental health results.
My other passion is educating my clients about the powerful positive effects that excellent dental health has been proven to have on their overall health and well-being. And as my team and I here Aventura Dental Associations like to say A healthy mouth is contagious!.
My passion for dentistry had withstood the test of time. Ive been a practicing dentist for almost 40 years(!). I completed my dental education at the University of Maryland, School of Dentistry in 1975. I continue my professional education and stay on top of the newest developments in dentistry. I am a long-standing member of the South Florida District Dental Society, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Intracoastal Dental Study Club, and the Dental Compendium Study Club. I am also a Board Member of Broward Dental Research Clinic at Broward College and past-President of the North Dade Dental Society.
When I am not helping my clients, I like to spend my time with my lovely wife Kathy, to whom Ive been married for over 20 years. I am an avid musician and play with several local band ranging from jazz to blues to classic and international rock where I play the drums. As a retired Lt Colonel USAF reservist, I volunteer my time and my professional expertise by providing pro bono dental care to vets through the United Way non-profit program. I also stay active in my local community by volunteering my time and expertise as a dentist in the Donated Dental Services pro bono program.
My patients know me as a compassionate, trustworthy dentist, who truly cares about them and their dental health. I take time to talk with each patient and we determine together what is best for them, and their individual circumstances. My goal is that each and every patient that comes to Aventura Dental Associates has a truly pleasant experience and feels that theyve been truly heard by me and my team.

Dr. Mel and his team were courteous and efficient from the start. I got a cleaning and a consultation. Dr. Mel was extremely informative on what I need to do to keep my teeth looking good.

I love this place. Everyone cares and it's so rare! The receptionist helped me out so much and worked around my insurance . The doctor and his assistant are so patient and nice. I didn't have a feeling that they were trying to make money by prescribing useless things. I did enjoy their way of doing things.

Dr. Melvin Weinberg was wonderful all the way through my procedure . From the time I walk through the office door to the chair the whole staff treats you like family. Make you feel welcome just not a patient, the hygienist was great did a wonderful job gentle was thorough and quick. While holding conversations as I can be a talker!! I highly recommend Aventura Dental Associates to anyone looking for the routine cleaning to major dental work.

I have never felt so welcomed & @ home as I did there , my first visit was an amazing experience very friendly & professional staff & the workmanship, can not even tell that I had work done if u didn't know me, but those who know me wanted to know who my dentist is, I got so many compliments & ended up passing out Dr. Gitron's business cards m very satisfied with the end results

Could NOT of gone better , remember we're talking "going to the dentist " , like how dogs feel at the Vet. Every visit has been great , the question is , can we as the patients be as good ? So a 10 is given for services received by the Team effort , that is Aventura Dental Associates . Mark

Before I even got there I can tell you they are great. I called with insurance questions, and Renita the office manager jumped through hoops to help me out! She went above and beyond and I'm a brand new patient. I see why they have 5 stars. If this is any indication of their work ethic and bedside manor then we are in good hands here.

Having recently moved to the area I relied heavily on the numerous reviews that I had read for local dental practices. I was very impressed with the number of very positive reviews for Aventura Dental Associates. I left a message after hours inquiring if they were taking new patients and wanted confirmation that they accepted my insurance plan. Renita, their receptionist, promptly returned my call first thing the next morning and took the time to get to know me, tell me about the practice and the doctors and answered all my questions. Renita made me feel very comfortable and welcome as a new patient. Today I had my initial consultation and could not be more pleased. When I arrived at the office I was seen promptly. Renita assisted me with completing the new patient information form. Barbara, the dental assistant, got me settled in the examination room and reviewed all the info I had provided to ensure that I had communicated everything necessary and that they understood my needs. After a very thorough set of X-rays were taken Dr. Gitron-Beer introduced herself and patiently explained what her assessment was and reviewed the X-rays with me so that I could "see" what she was describing. Together we developed a plan of treatment and discussed the sequence and scheduling of the treatments and the associated costs. She emphasized that if I experience any discomfort in between visits to please let her know and we would address that immediately and then resume the planned treatment schedule. It was abundantly clear that my comfort is priority number one while following the treatment plan. I am so grateful to have discovered Aventura Dental Associates. They have given me hope and confidence that they can get me back on the road to proper dental health.
