Dr. Jeffrey Bryant Piaskowy (Dr. Pi) was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. During childhood, Dr. Pi became interested in dentistry as a result of wearing braces for seven years. The close relationships with his dentist and orthodontist soon resulted in the decision to focus on dental/medical studies.
In addition to science courses, Dr. Pi decided to pursue his interests in other fields. In 1995, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and was accepted to Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. In 1999, Dr. Pi earned the degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and became licensed in the State of Colorado. Dr. Pi is a member of the American Dental Association and Colorado Dental Association.
While in dental school, Dr. Pi participated in many community based programs to include oral cancer screenings at local retirement homes and provision of dental care to children from low-income families in East St. Louis, Illinois. His volunteer work continues in Coloradowith the Donated Dental Services program as well as Smile-a-Bration.
After graduation, Dr. Pi started his work at a state-of-the-art practice in Greeley, Coloradowhich allowed him to gain broad experience in all disciplines of dentistry to include endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, prosthodontics, pediodontics, as well as restorative and cosmetic services. In February of 2002, Dr. Piopened his owndentalpracticeinSteamboat Springs, CO.At AvantGarde Dental, PC, Dr.Pioffers his patients a full range of preventive and restorative dental servicesforadults and children to include oral surgery and endodontics with a special emphasis on cosmetic dentistry.
Among many personal interests, Dr. Pi is fascinated with other cultures. In 1993, Dr. Pi met his wife, Ewa, who is Polish. The experience of visiting Poland and meeting people from other countries has been of great importance. Together, the Piaskowys share their love for health and outdoor activities - traveling, camping, hiking, mountaineering, skiing, and sailing. They treasure close personal relationships with their families and friends and enjoy the company of their adorable pets (Febe - German Shepherd, Katie - black cat, and Maya - Alaskan Malamute). They also like books, computers, and philosophical conversations.
As a native of Poland, Mrs. Piaskowys personal interests are reflective of two diverse cultures. It may be difficult to believe that there are many similarities between Polish and American cultures but, in fact, the differences are scarce. The same values taught by my parents, for example, respect for nature, consideration for people, honesty, and dignity, permeate the American culture. I feel extremely lucky to participate in American traditions and combine them with my Polish heritage. I am especially happy about living in Steamboat Springs as it is reminds me of my homeland. From the high regard for health taught by my parents who are medical doctors in Poland throughmy strong financial expertise, working at AvantGarde Dental, as the office manger,enables me tomeet our patients's needsfrom both perspectives.
Ewa Alicja Piaskowy was born and raised in Lubin, Poland. Since early childhood, Mrs. Piaskowy has been interested in science with the emphasis on math, statistics, physics, chemistry, and biology. After high school graduation, she moved to the United States to study international business and earned her Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Masters of Science in Accountancy from Southern Illinois University, in 1998 and 1999, respectively.
In 1999, having passed the national examination and fulfilled all the requirements prescribed by the Illinois Public Act, she was awarded the certificate of Certified Public Accountant in the State of Illinois. Subsequently, in the same year, having fulfilled all the Colorado requirements, she became certified in the State of Colorado. Mrs. Piaskowy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Mrs. Piaskowy worked for a public accounting firm in Greeley, Colorado, before moving to Steamboat Springs. For over two years, she performed audits, reviews, and compilations for profit, nonprofit, and governmental organizations as well as prepared individual, corporate, partnership, and nonprofit tax returns. Mrs. Piaskowy has beenthe office manager ofAvantGarde Dental, PC since 2002. Among her current professional interests are health care consulting, financial planning, retirement planning, investment consulting, and business valuations.
Mrs. Piaskowy enjoys all outdoor activities to include traveling, camping, hiking, mountaineering, horseback riding, skiing, scuba diving, and sailing. She also likes to read, study foreign languages and cultures, as well as spend time with her family, friends, and pets.
Darinka Tzerovski was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. After graduating from high school, she continued her education at Sofia University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biotechnology. Since moving to Colorado in 2009, Darinka has continued working in the field of healthcare as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, ABO Certified Optician, and Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. She joined Avantgarde Dental in 2011.

Are you afraid of the dentist? Fear no more. I'm a giant baby when it comes to the dentist. I have had root canals, extractions, basically everything a dentist does. I never feel pain when I see Dr. Pi. He's the best! So are the hygienists and office staff. Best dentist I've ever been to!

I'm getting kinda old and have seen many of dentists. Hands down this is the best outfit I have ever been to. I have been going to these folks for a long time and don't have 1 bad experience and my wife would say the same. I just hope they don't get too busy

So I needed an extensive amount of work done and was in pain. They told me the next available appointment wasn't until March 4, 2019. So I contacted my dentist 2000 miles away and he requested my exam records. They would not send them to him, instead telling me they would email them to me. I politely called them after waiting 2 hours after not receiving the records. Keep in mind we are building a plan back east to resolve my issue and it was imperative today to get these to my Dr. back east. So then I called back around 3 pm. Ava or Eva the receptionist told me it could take up to a week to get my xrays. At this point I was rather upset not understanding why it would take a week in a small town to send an email. I was not very nice about this, but I am in pain and needed help. So then I drove down there and she made photo copies of my records discussing my xrays in front of another coworker making remarks that I need a lot of work done. This woman is a SECRETARY!!!! Not a medical professional. In my opinion she should not have a job at this office or any medical office. She then told me the Dr. would no longer see me as a patient. I am a veteran as well and do not deserve this type of treatment. I was embarrassed, felt that I was being mocked and poked fun at. All I wanted was my records emailed to me today and here we are at 5pm and still no dental records.

I have been a patient at Avantgarde dental for over a decade and had nothing but ideal care. As a medical doctor, it is very difficult to always give every patient the time they need to talk about their concerns. With Dr. Pi, he not only has always taken the time to explain all the complex treatment I have needed but has been able to keep my mouth healthy with exceptional technical skill. The front office staff has always treated me with the upmost professionalism and been there to help navigate the difficulties of dental insurance. This is the smoothest running office I have ever seen and I have been in the medical field for over 20 years. After reading the few reviews of Avantgarde dental, I felt compelled to write my own review. I don't know what these bad reviews are talking about--they appear to be a competitor trying to bash the best dentist and dental office out there. These bad reviewers appear to be the same person (by name and content) which makes it very suspect because from where I have been sitting for over a decade with Dr. Pi, those reviews are simply NOT TRUE!!

I am one of the most "scaredy-cat" dental patients in the world. Dr Pi worked around that and fixed my whole mouth. He is so kind and patient I am so thankful to have found him!

Excellent Dentist, Excellent Staff. I had a fear of dentists but from the moment I walked in the door, everyone was warm and welcoming and reassured me about the procedure. I had a root canal and felt no pain whatsoever. I barely even felt the Novocaine injections. Dr. Piaskowy and his entire team are true professionals. Highly recommended!
