After receiving his Bachelors degree in Biology and Chemistry in 1993 he obtained his Dental degree with clinical honors from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. Dr. Ofir continues to take courses in advanced dental technology and is an expert in the placement of immediate dental implants, Invisalign and the Six-Months-Smile technique.
Dr. Singh grew up in New York City. He graduated from The Institute of Dental Studies and Technologies, India in 2013 with a Bachelors degree in Dental Surgery. Having gained some work experience, he moved to Boston, where he pursued his DMD degree at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Singh actively participates in continuing education so that he can provide an exceptional dental experience with the latest techniques and technologies. He currently serves as an adviser for the Tufts Aesthetics Society, which he founded in his final year of dental school. It is his belief that patient education is necessary for a beautiful and healthy smile.
Dr. Elmekkawi is a dentist in Avalon Dental Somerville.Hegraduated as a dentist with honors from Mansoura University, Egypt, Class of 2008. He also completed post-graduate studies in Oral Surgery at Cairo University, Egypt, He contentedly worked at his familys dental clinic for years. After moving to USA, He pursued Masters Degree in Public Health from Nova South Eastern University, Florida and DMD Degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
He always seeks clinical excellence and relaxed dental experience for his patients. During his free time, Dr. EL. enjoys spending time with his family and friends. Their leisure activities include fishing, swimming and watching sports especially Celtics, Patriots, and Liverpool. He also loves to travel and enjoys eating out at various local restaurants and is always looking for recommendations!

I wouldnt go to this place if you are trying to get a crown, teeth pulled out, or just being able to smile with confidence. The main dentist is not a man of his word. If you need something to be fixed, he will only fix 80% of it. Nothing is guaranteed with him, its more of a trial and error with him. I wouldnt trust him to do any procedures

The WORST dental experience I have ever had. I do not recommend that anyone go here. I made an appointment for a dental cleaning and check-up and was treated horribly. The assistant who took my x-rays had to redo them twice because she could not correctly angle the tool used to take the x-rays. I think she was still learning, which is fine and I would normally let this go, however this just added to the horrible experience. The doctor came in and I told him honestly that I had not been to the dentist in two years due to moving around and other reasons, but I have never had any issues with my teeth. He told me that this was bad and I probably will need to have work done because of this. He cleaned my teeth and it was incredibly painful. He took no notice that he made my gums bleed excessively. After examination he proceeded to tell me that I need two crowns and three fillings immediately and the receptionist instantly came over and told me to book as soon as possible and said that everything would cost over $3000, but not to worry because my insurance would cover most of it and I still had to pay $1500 by Monday. I knew this was sketchy and I left. I immediately called a different dentist for a second opinion. When I called the office to get my records and x rays they were less than helpful and I still have not received my records despite calling and emailing them for weeks. The other dentist could see nothing wrong with my teeth and said that the dentist I went to here was just looking for money. DO NOT go here. There are better dentists elsewhere who are not looking to make a profit off of you.

I had a strange and terrible dental experience here, and think that I was being scammed. I went in for a check up and x-rays, and the entire appointment took over 2 hours. I was criticized for not having been to the dentist in ~2 years, and told that I would need a lot of work done. At the end of the exam, Dr. Elmekkawi told me that I would need 9 fillings and that I needed to get them done ASAP. He did not even go over my x-rays with me, but took other photos of my teeth and said that the small pits/scrapes were cavities that need to be filled now. I have since gotten a second and third opinion from 2 other dentists who said that I don't have any cavities. At the end of my appointment I was made to sit in a room with the customer service person, Mr. Orfir, for ~30 minutes to go over the costs of my future dental work. I had to sign a piece of paper before I left saying that I would commit to this work, and promise them that I would be back. The whole experience was very strange, I felt very pressured by them, and I have been to a variety of dentists. I am sure that they just wanted to bill as much as possible, especially because this is a new office location. I would not recommend this office to anyone.

Dr. Shadi is the BEST DENTIST ever! Knowledgeable and professional, he doesn't make you question the quality of work that is being done in your mouth! My anxiety levels immediately depleted the moment I got to know him. I truly trust him, and he does have a certain way about him that cuts to the chase but at the same time makes you feel so calm and so confident in him. I cannot say enough good things about this dentist. I had TONS of work done. All very stressful and not fun - But Avalon made it all worth it. Honestly the whole team, including the other dentists, the hygienists, as well as receptionists, etc - are wonderful, friendly, and knowledgeable! Don't go anywhere else!!

Dr. Singh is excellent. I am a longtime patient and recently needed two fillings filled and his staff fit me in with very little notice and I was patched up and on my way in less than an hour. The Dr. Singh was great and the experience was pretty painless. Thank you Adrienne for helping me scheduling last minute appointment!

We just moved to Everett, Massachusetts and I started looking for the family dentist near Everett or Somerville. I picked this dental due to local area and good reviews. My two-year-old son had here his first dental appointment and it was great! As a parent you are scared and nervous to choose and go to doctors but we had the best experience at Avalon Dental Center. The receptionist and dental assistant were very nice and lovely very pleasant and respectful. They made my son's first time visit very wonderful. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family. Thank you!

My family had the most amazing experience, Dr. David Mendelovitz is so patient, professional, knowledgeable and caring. I recommend this office to all who are looking for a really good family dentistry. They don't use silver fillings, only white fillings (the better for you). They have Digital X-Rays, comfortable seating area, very clean and super modern. Dr. Mendelovitz did a great job for my kids, the quality of work is super and like no other. A MUST see for yourself! The staff and office manager Adrienne are fantastic.

Good oral care but bad "customer service". I received texts, postcards & e-mails right after my first consultation to make me come back. I asked for my X-Rays through e-mails several time and never obtained them. The only file I received was the diagnosis, which said I denied pain at the time, even though I specifically came for toothache.

Dr. Singh is awesome. Even when he drilling or scraping or doing usual unpleasant dental work, he makes it as easy as possible. And as amazing as that is, that's not the first reason I'm Team Singh. The first reason is how much he cares. He demonstrates this by taking his time when talking to you. He's not pushing patients through like on some Dental Assembly Line. He explains what he's doing while he's doing it. He googles images and visual aides to help explain what he's talking about. He makes you feel like he genuinely cares for you and your teeth. Patient for life. P.S. Oh yeah, and the facility is nice with great (free) parking and all those logistical things.

Dr Singh is wonderful and his clinic is the best I've ever been to. Dr Singh is gentle, personable, and loves to educate his patients. The staff is incredible and very caring, always brightening my day. I have been beyond pleased with my treatment. I would recommend anyone to visit their clinic if they are seeking exceptional dental care!

I have being coming to Dr.Singh for a couple of years now and he is the only dentist I trust . He is very patient and understanding. I have had bad experiences with dentist before and he always puts my fears at ease. I highly recommend him and Avalon Dental Center on Assembly.

Best dentist ever! I had a wisdom tooth that had to come out (I was procrastinating big time due to my fear of dentist). Dr. Singh was very professional, I didn't feel a thing during the entire process. He walked me through it all. Since then, I have had all my fillings replaced as well as some minor dental work. I totally recommend him! His staff is really nice too! Thank you Avalon Dental!

Dr. Singh is such a great dentist. I will not go anywhere else. My husband and kids love him. No pain after any major work done. I did two crowns st Avalon Dental Office in Assembly. Dr.Singh knows what he's doing and is fast! Very clean office and respectable staff. He's super friendly and I highly recommend you coming here for any of your dentist needs.

I found Dr. Ofir through great yelp reviews. He and his office do not disappoint. I really needed to get work done for a receding gum problem I have in the upper and lower sides of my teeth. He has worked on both of my upper sides and they look amazing. I am so happy with the results, it feels like I have a new set of teeth already. I still have more work to be done and am excited to see a smile I've always wanted.
