Dr. Lopez is a graduate of Northwestern University Dental School and then went on to specialize in Periodontics at the University of Southern California. A graduate from the University of California San Diego, with a bachelor of science and his D.M.D. degree from Boston University in Boston, MA. Dr. Nakano then completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center and Lincoln Hospital Cornell University.

All while the office help, the nurses, assistants, and even the doctor are very professional and nice, I say buyer beware. This office/doctor is supposed to be a provider for Delta dental, but does not follow the agreed upon charges. The patient is expected to pay half of what the expected charges would be (charges that cost much more than what they agreed with Delta on) and if after the insurance is paid and they find that you are to be refunded, they claim they will send you a refund check. I have been trying to be refunded my money for 3 months and finally had to file a grievance with Delta Delta to help me get my money refunded. The office offered me half of what I am owed. What a way to ruin a good business with that type of practice. I will never go back to this office and do not recommend anyone else to either unless they want to spend their precious time hunting down money that is rightfully owed to you.

Went to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out with Dr Portnoff She did a phenomenal job I was out like a light and I'm in very minimal discomfort she did an amazing job Not to mention all the front desk ladies were so sweet and professional <3 I got to meet Olivia, joy, Sherri, and Amanda great ladies they were wonderful <33 And in the operating room the assistants were awesome Steve was so funny and eased my nerves Trisha was nice and quick :) And maricella was so sweet in the recovery room I had such a good experience for getting 4 extractions lol. Shout out to AV dental surgery you guys rock I definitely recommend coming here

At 72 I've seen a lot of oral surgeons but Dr. Lopez and his staff were impressive. I was treated professionally and with kindness by all. Dr. Lopez spent at least an hour explaining my x-rays and my options, no rush. He gave me a referral and a copy of x-rays .The bill was unbelievably low. I would not hesitate to refer Dr. Lopez to anyone needing his type of dental assistance and guidance.

If you want to have your appointment moved several times then you can come here. My appointment has been moved several times, not only is this extremely unprofessional but it continues to disrupt my schedule. They called me once more to reschedule my appointment and decided not to reschedule it anymore. These people do not respect your time I'm not going back

AV Dental Surgery accommodated my husband on an emergency basis to remove roots (& a bit of instrument) his dentist could not extract. (Stubborn tooth indeed.) The doctor, nurses & staff are kind, thoughtful professionals, with a good sense of humor. Love & appreciate the nurse who took care if him. So kind. Definitely would recommend & if neccessary see again.

The oral surgeon was rushed and didn't explain until after the surgery what the recovery would be like for my situation. Came in twice with post-op issues, the doctor on duty was dismissive and condescending about the issues I was having, stating that's just the way it is, although I had read about the possibility of packing a dry socket. Office staff are nice.

The staff at AV Dental Surgery Center are top notch! They go above and beyond. From the texts I received to prepare for my visit, the very short wait time to be asked to a room, to Dr Nakano doing an amazing job on a difficult extraction. It was over before I knew it. It is our first visit to this office, we were also referred by another friend. Their pre admission system is very organized. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Dr A. Lopez was very informative and seems very knowledgeable about his craft. I would highly recommend AV Dental Surgery Center

My husband was referred to AV Dental Surgery for consultation and possible extraction of 4 teeth. From the first day I called the office staff was very professional. They set aside time for consultation and explained that they would go over the treatment plan and finances and if we decided to do the treatment they would do it that day. They advised no eating or drinking prior to the appointment. This worked great as we live about an hour away. Dr. Nakano was very good and explained everything and stepped out so that Sherry could come in and discuss insurance and co-pay. There was no pressure to do anything but gave us two options. We went for it. Treatment took about 30 minutes and the surgical assistant went over instructions. From start to finish the office was spectacular. I particularly liked the way your receptionist answered the phone. I like to know who I'm speaking to. Not only did she say her name but the next sentence was a great addition. "How can I make you smile today?" Loved it. Thanks for the great service. Oh, and my husband is doing great tonight! If you are reading this review and need to see an Oral Surgeon. This is definitely the place. Definitely 5 Lorri
