Dr. Allen was born in Hickory, NC and grew up on a horse farm. Growing up and still to this day, she has always loved playing music on any instrument she could get her hands on. She also loves sewing, wood-burning and all other types of crafts.
Around the age of 8, Dr. Allens older brother got braces, and she became fascinated with dentistry, which she considers the melding of medical care and art. From then on, she was set on becoming a dentist.
She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology in three years at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, graduating with honors. During this time, she worked as a dental assistant, learning from two wonderful general dentists. She attended dental school at the University of Maryland in Baltimore where she took in as much dental knowledge and experience as she could.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Allen had the desire to continue her education closer to home and completed a one-year Advanced General Dentistry Residency at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine in Spruce Pine, NC.
After finishing her training, Dr. Allen worked in Asheville in a small private practice. Today she leads Autumn Dental, bringing a commitment to dental health, caring relationships and customized treatment for all of her patients.

Dr. Allen and her staff are wonderful. I am beyond pleased that this practice was recommended to me. I have been a patient for nearly two years now and couldn't be happier!!

Autumn Dental bought the practice where I had previously been a patient, a couple of years ago. My experience with them from the very start has been great. Most recently had a crown, and it was first-rate work done in a single appointment. Dr. Allen and her staff are all so nice, and very professional.

This dentist is first rate. She is professional, kind, gentle and efficient.. She repaired and reattached my bridge as an emergency I had not established a dentist here. . Her office is efficient and they know what they are doing. This is my new dentist.

I needed to establish a new dentist and am so happy that I found Autumn Dental! Dr. Allen is a first rate professional and gentle too. Their dental tech, Karen performed a miraculous job cleaning my teeth which needed cleaning badly. The entire staff at Autumn Dental are efficient and quite attentive to their patients' needs. This will be my new dentist!

Do not ever use this dental practice. They show no concern for their patients in Emergency situations. Just to add this practice will not see you of you post a negative review of them. Instead of providing better customer service or correcting the issue they prefer to tell you to go somewhere else!

Dr. Allen, the owner of the practice, hired me as a full time employee in January of this year. February I got pregnant. In June, they gave the part time employee my full time position because I was pregnant and only had me work two days a week which turned out to be less than the first part time employee. In October, I had my daughter a month early. While I was out during my six weeks of recovery after having a c-section, I did not receive a courtesy call of how I was doing, but instead they called me to let me know they no longer had my position available and let me go. In conclusion, this owner was not very trustworthy and unprofessional to work for.

Would not recommend. Hygienist was very good, people handling insurance file claims incorrectly.

It had been two years since I had gone to the dentist because I'd work myself up so bad about going. Anxiety would get the best of me and I'd cancel my appointment. Finally went in and they were so kind and patient with me! Very gentle and caring and took my anxiety very well. They didn't judge me or make me feel bad for the cavities I needed repaired. I highly recommend them, Dr. Allen was very professional and kind and I'll definitely be coming back for my regular checkups now.

Every step was clear right down to little details like, "I'm about to blow some air into your mouth to dry it out." I finally needed a crown. It was taken care of in one visit with little discomfort. There knowledge and use of sophisticated equipment was extensive and well practiced. I would recommend Autumn Dental to anyone.
