Let's face it - who among us looks forward to going to the dentist? I have never had a bad experience in Dr. Toland's office, even if I have to have a filling. The staff is wonderful, always upbeat and friendly and certainly very professional. I feel great when I come out too. I am so happy to have found this office because I feel like they care about me, they know about me, and they are always on top of concerns. There is no pressure to change what you don't want done to your teeth like pushing veneers, or overdoing crowns, or making you feel like your teeth are terrible. But they care about your dental maintenance and that's a good thing. It strikes me the office is a real team and a happy one at that.
Today, I had a lot of dental work done. The staff was very helpful friendly and courteous. You could tell they really enjoyed what they were doing. The staff always communicates what is going to be done and how much it will cost. Dr. Toland is very professional and detailed in her work. You don't leave unless your are satisfied with the work that was done. I believe Dr. Toland is an artist who wants you to appreciate the work she does to not only make you healthy, but happy as well. My 10-year old son also had some work done. Dr. Toland and the staff know how to make young children comfortable in what can be an uncomfortable situation.
The Hygenist Bles greeted us with that great smile & great attitude! Always on time. Front desk always remembers our names & acknowledge our presence. My son has to have some work done on his teeth & Dr. Toland explained & showed me on the screen where the work needs to be done. The treatment coordinator had my cost done in about 15 min. We found a Appt. Within 2 weeks. Very clean office. Staff is just wonderful here.
Front desk Megan's ( yes two Megan's ) are so very professional - personal and warm - always helpful and follow up with answers to my many questions - lol Have had Dr. Toland replace 3 crowns and a new one - very pleased with excellent work no problems with these replaced crowns - new one too! Today was my first teeth cleaning - very professional and did an great job - teeth feel shiny and clean - Thank You
I haven't been to the dentist for quite some time because of my insecurity about my oral health. I finally visited the dentist and I was welcomed immediately when I entered the door. They kept records of my previous visit so check in wan't a hassle at all and I waited less than 5 minutes to be seen. Christina performed my x-rays, cleaning and periodontal exam. She did an awesome job ensuring that I was comfortable and took the time to briefly explain procedures and results. They had a good selection of relaxing music keeping things calm and smooth. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Toland and she gently gave me all the bad news with the proof in x-rays. I appreciated her sincere concern about my teeth and health. After she recommended a plan, I felt better that every issue in my mouth was identified and there was a plan in place. At the front desk, the young lady clearly explained the cost and what my insurance would cover. Also, there was no pressure to get the work done. I had peace of mind. Today's visit made it clear that I can trust this team with my dental needs and that they will be professional no matter how bad my condition. Thank you!
Dr. Toland and her team are caring and helpful. I look forward to my next six month cleaning and check up. A perfect job! The people in this office are calm and always smiling. They make me feel that Im in good hands. Dr. Toland or her assistant often call me after a treatment to check how Im doing. How many dentists do we know that do that? The hygienists that work there are also very good at what they do and are helpful in explaining everything to you. Dr. Toland was born and raised just north of Boston, Massachusetts. She decided she wanted to be a dentist when she was in middle school after a great experience with her orthodontist. After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Boston College, she fulfilled her dream of attending the esteemed Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. After graduating dental school in 2012, she completed an Advanced Residency in General Dentistry at the Togus VA Maine Healthcare System in Augusta, Maine. She enjoyed her experience there so much that she stayed on for an additional year and worked as a staff dentist.
Dr. Toland met her husband, Mike,in dental school and she moved with him to San Diego in 2014 when his naval orders brought him here. They both love the San Diego lifestyle and enjoy bike riding, kayaking, trying new restaurants, and hanging out at the beach. They are also avid travelers and have been to many places in the US and around the globe including Central America, Asia, Europe, and Australia.
Dr. Tolandenjoys volunteering at the Homeless Veterans Stand Down which aims to provide basic dental services to homeless veterans. She also volunteers her time teaching a pre-dental courseat SDSU, and takes part in the Dental Lifeline Network, donating her services to qualifying patients in need. Dr. Toland values keeping up with the latest technology and research in dentistry and therefore spends many hours each year attending continuing education courses. She is always looking to expand her knowledge and skills to better treat her patients.

Megan grew up in Orange County California. She moved to San Diego in 2013 and married her high school sweetheart. Megan found her calling when she became a patient at Authentic Dental Designs. She graduated from Pima Medical Institute in January of 2016 with a degree in Dental Assisting and became a Registered Dental Assistant shortly after. In the office, you can find her both in the front and back offices, ready to help in any way that she can. In her spare time Megan loves to attend country music festivals with her husband, take her dog Wiley to the beach, and spend time at home with her family.
Originally from England, Jackie now lives in San Diego with her husband and daughter. She began her dental career in the 1980s working for a major dental insurance company, and with the knowledge and history in the dental insurance field that she gained, she is fittingly our insurance expert and can answer all of your insurance and financial questions!
Claudia was born and raised here in San Diego. She graduated from Kaplan College in 2011 and became a Registered Dental Assistant in 2013. She truly enjoys working in the dental field. The most rewarding part of her career is making patients comfortable and happy with their smiles, while forming lasting relationships with them. In her spare time, Claudia loves spending time with her husband and kids, taking their dog to the park, and going to the beach.
Bles is a meticulous, gentle hygienist and has a background in both hygiene and dentistry. Bles graduated from dental school in the Philippines and practiced dentistry there for many years. After moving to the US, she obtained her hygiene degree from San Joaquin Valley College. Her extensive education has provided her with a well-rounded understanding of dentistry, and sets her apart from other hygienists. Bles provides our patients with a thorough, comfortable, and effective visit. Not only is Bles exceedingly zealous about helping her patients achieve beautiful and healthy smiles, but she is also a believer in overall health. She is an avid hiker and kayaker, as well as a proponent of healthy eating. Sharing her healthy lifestyle and encouraging her patients to do the same has been one of her proudest accomplishments during her 25+ years in the dental field.
Rebecca was first introduced to the dental field as a teenager, when she was inspired by the opportunity to educate and help others with their overall health. Rebecca started her career in dentistry as a dental assistant and receptionist, and has advanced her training to become the caring and gentle hygienist our patients love. Rebecca received her hygiene degree at Southwestern College and is building on her passion for teaching by studying to become a hygiene professor. Rebeccas favorite part of being a hygienist is the opportunity to demonstrate to her patients the relationship between their overall daily routines (i.e., eating habits, life stresses, oral care, etc) and the health of their body. In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys going to the beach with her two daughters, trying new vegetarian restaurants, and learning to play the guitar. Her next adventure will be completing a Spartan race!
Doina was born and raised in Bucharest, Romania, and moved to San Diego with her husband and daughter over 20 years ago. Doina has dedicated her whole life to the medical field, practicing as a Registered Nurse in Romania and as a Registered Dental Assistant in the US.
