We also know how scary and anxiety-provoking it can be to have dental work done. Since most patients are uneasy about visiting, our staff makes sure to provide every patient with a kind and caring attitude. We are here to discuss any of your concerns, and we do our best to tailor every treatment to your needs, wants, and desired outcome.

Dr. Steven M. Austin is a 1990 honor graduate of Appalachian State University with Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Chemistry. He received his dental and orthodontic degrees from the University of North Carolinas School of Dentistry at Chapel Hill in 1994 and 1999, respectively. Dr. Austin is board certified from the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Austin has been practicing orthodontics exclusively since 1999. He is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the NC Association of Orthodontists, the Gaston Dental Society, and the Occlusal Concepts Study Club.

Dr. Austin, along with Sherry Reinhardt of the Lincoln County Coalition Against Child Abuse, began the North Carolina Chapter of the PANDA project which stands for Preventing Abuse and Neglect through Dental Awareness. They were able to receive grant money from the Rotary Foundation in order to fund the project.

He was President of the Gaston Dental Society from 2013-2014. He was named Rotarian of the Year for the Rotary Club of Lincolnton for 2010-2011. He was President of the Lincoln County Coalition Against Child Abuse from 2012-2013.

Dr. Austin resides in Denver, NC with his wife, Shannon. In his spare time, Dr. Austin enjoys hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He and Shannon also enjoy traveling to dance competitions to support their daughter, Halle-Grace. Dr. Austin, Shannon, and Halle-Grace enjoy being on the water whenever possible.

Our goal is to treat you as if you are a member of our own family! We want to achieve a perfect result for you through efficient and comprehensive treatment. Each team member is certified in radiology, coronal polishing, CPR, dental office emergencies, and OSHA infection control. We attend classes for CPR and OSHA compliance, as well as continuing education courses on the TAP 3 sleep apnea appliance and Damon brackets. We strive to treat each of our patients with the highest level of care by staying in touch with the latest advances in orthodontic technology.

Amy is a native of Lincoln County, NC and she attended Lincolnton High School. In her spare time, Amy enjoys shopping and cooking. She also enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, daughter, and two grandchildren.

A fun fact about Amy is that she has been in the dental field since 1990! Amy has been part of the Austin Orthodontics family since February 2008. She says, I love working at Austin Orthodontics because I can help patients feel better by improving their smiles!

Julie is a native of Catawba County, NC, and she continues to live in her hometown. She attended Bandys High School, as well as Natural Touch School of Esthetics. She has been married to her husband for more than 25 years, and they have four children, a dog, and a cat. In her spare time, Julie enjoys spending time at the beach, watching her children play sports, and watching her youngest daughter dancing on stage.

A fun fact about Julie is that she has been a hair and makeup artist for over 25 years! Julie has been in the dental field for over 3 years, and joined Austin Orthodontics in February 2019. She says, I love working at Austin Orthodontics because I can help our patients and their families with scheduling, as well as with any questions they may have. Our team is the best, and we have fun making our patients smile!

Kristin is a native of Mint Hill, NC. She made Shelby, NC her home in 2015, which is where she currently lives with her husband and their three dogs. She attended UNC-Chapel Hill for college (Go Heels!), where she majored in Elementary Education. A fun fact about Kristin is that she was a teacher for 10 years before changing careers to the dental field.

In her spare time, Kristin enjoys road trips with her family and friends, attending sporting events (Go Panthers!), reading, and photography. She has been part of the Austin Orthodontics family since July 2020. She says, I love working at Austin Orthodontics because its so exciting to be there for patients as they are on a journey to a new, healthy smile! From the patients first exam to the end of his/her treatment, the incredible transformations are inspiring! Our staff works as a team to ensure that patients have the very best experience in orthodontic treatment, and I love the family atmosphere at our office!

Ashlee is a native of Charlotte, NC but has called Lincolnton, NC home for over 10 years. She attended Hickory Grove Baptist Christian School. She is married to her high school sweetheart, and they have a son. Ashlee also has a beagle named Kuechly (after the Panthers linebacker).

When Ashlee isnt at the office, she enjoys cooking, day trips, and spending time with family and friends. A fun fact about Ashlee is that she can play the piano! Ashlee has been part of the Austin Orthodontics family since November 2007. She says, I love working at Austin Orthodontics because giving people a beautiful smile is life changing. It is an awesome feeling when people are so happy and cant hold back happy tears.

Judy is a native of Virginia, and currently lives in Crouse, NC with her husband. When Judy is not working, she enjoys gardening, as well as traveling to Virginia to visit her son, daughter, and six grandchildren.

A fun fact about Judy is that she has 30+ years of experience in the orthodontic field, and spent the first part of her career working in Virginia! Judy has been part of the Austin Orthodontics family since February 2013 (three days before her third grandson was born), and she says, I love working at Austin Orthodontics because my love for orthodontics keeps every day exciting for me!

Tiffany is a native of Catawba County, NC, where she lives with her husband (married May 2020) and two blue heelers (Luke and Jojo). She attended Bandys High School, and earned an associate degree in photography from CVCC. She also earned her dental assisting degree from Lake Norman Dental Assisting School.

When shes not at work, Tiffany is likely exploring the outdoors while riding RZRs with her husband and friends, or capturing special moments with her camera. Tiffany has been part of the Austin Orthodontics family since February 2015 (over 5 years)! She was even a patient here when she was younger! Tiffany says, I love working at Austin Orthodontics because I love seeing happy, smiling faces when patients get their braces off!

Chanel is a native of Pace, Florida, but now calls Denver, NC home. She attended the University of West Florida, where she majored in psychology. She has two children; a daughter in nursing school at UNCW, and a son at North Lincoln High School. Chanels hobbies include traveling and going on mission trips. The beach is constantly calling, as Chanel grew up in a beach town!

Her favorite verse is from Proverbs 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all ways, submit to Him and He will make your paths straight. Chanel has been part of the Austin Orthodontics family for over five years, and says, I love working at Austin Orthodontics because of the family atmosphere and all the fun! Chanel is well known for the jokes and pranks that she has played on Dr. Austin be sure to check out those moments on Facebook and Instagram!

Kaley is a native of Iron Station, NC and currently lives in Denver, NC with her husband. She attended East Lincoln High School, as well as Lake Norman Dental Assisting School. Kaleys hobbies include trying new foods and new restaurants, going to the mountains, watching shows and movies, and spending time with family. Her favorite team is the New York Yankees! A fun fact about Kaley is that she was a patient at Austin Orthodontics when she was in 5th grade!

Her favorite quote comes from Winnie the Pooh, who says, Wear a smile, whatever the weather! Kaley has been part of the Austin Orthodontics family since January 2020, and she says, I love working at Austin Orthodontics because it is fun, and I love seeing smiles transform!

Cali is a native of Lincolnton, NC and she attended Lincolnton High School. She earned an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from CVCC. In her spare time, Cali enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, as well as going to the beach and shopping.

A fun fact about Cali is that she worked at a dental office before joining our team, and she is great with younger patients! Cali has been in the dental field for three years, and has been part of the Austin Orthodontics family since February 2021. She says, I love working at Austin Orthodontics because of the fun atmosphere and seeing our patients transformations!

Holly is a native of Charlotte, NC and currently lives in Lincoln County with her husband, son, and two rescue boxers (Luke and Eli). She attended Independence High School. Since then, she has taken specialty courses related to dental care, orthodontic care, and lab. Hollys hobbies include everything from gardening to crafts (such as embroidery, vinyl, and resin). A fun fact about Holly is that she works with Carolina Boxer Rescue; from transporting dogs to other destinations, to fostering, to adopting, and to contributing to fundraisers, this organization holds a very special place in Hollys heart! Holly has been part of the Austin Orthodontics family since November 2020, and she says, I love working at Austin Orthodontics because of the friendly staff! In fact, I have previously worked with three of the employees. I also love that I can continue to do what Ive specialized in for 22 years!

Maggie is a native of Claremont, NC and she attended Bunker Hill High School. She completed her Dental Assisting certification in April 2021. In her spare time, Maggie enjoys shopping and learning all about her cricut machine. Maggie also enjoyed spending time with her fianc (recently engaged to her high school sweetheart in April) and with her dog, Remi.

A fun fact about Maggie is that she is extremely superstitious and knows all about conspiracy theories. She has been in the dental field since high school, where she interned for an orthodontist. Maggie has been part of the Austin Orthodontics family since May 2021. She says, I love working at Austin Orthodontics because Im finally doing what I have always wanted to do, and I enjoy all of my co-workers!
