Our treatment team consists of Expanded Functions Certified Assistants who graduated from the Academy of Orthodontic Assisting. All members of our team have years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the very latest in technology and advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars such as CPR, OSHA and annual re-certification through the American Association of Orthodontists.

Melissa joined Austin Orthodontics in 2011. She has over 30 years of experience in the dental field. Melissa is the office manager and financial coordinator at Austin Orthodontics. She does a remarkable job making sure the patients and families get the maximum insurance benefits. Melissa can help answer all of your questions about orthodontics, treatment options, and financial responsibilities. She is dedicated to making our patients experience in our office a positive one! Melissa enjoys traveling, and enjoying the company of her family and friends.

Holly is a certified dental assistant who started as an intern with Dr. Austin after graduating from OTC . Over her 10 years at Austin Orthodontics she has worn many hats. Hollys favorite part of her job is that no two days are ever the same, and no two patients are ever the same. You may see Holly at the front desk, assisting Dr. Austin with patients, working on the imaging computer, or helping in the lab. When Holly is not at the office she enjoys vacationing with her husband, Chris, and experiencing life through the eyes of her two daughters; Willow & Lilah.

Whitney is a Certified Dental Assistant at Austin Orthodontics. She has been with Austin Orthodontics since 2010 and in the dental field for over 12 years. Her main roles in the office are assisting Dr. Austin on patient procedures and ordering the supplies for the office. Whitney has been interested in orthodontics ever since she was a teenager and had braces. Braces helped boost her self-confidence, and she is so happy to now be helping patients love their smiles. One of the things Whitney enjoys most about her job is building relationships with the patients and families. Making a difference in patients lives makes her job so fulfilling. She feels blessed to literally be helping people smile on a daily basis.

Brittany Bergman is an expanded functions Certified Dental Assistant. Brittany graduated from the Dental Assisting Program at OTC in 2014 and has been at Austin Orthodontics since the fall of 2014. Being an orthodontic assistant has been Brittanys dream job since she had braces as a teenager. Her favorite thing about her job is getting to remove patients braces. She loves seeing the joy and confidence that a beautiful, straight smile brings to our patients. When she is not at the office, Brittany loves spending time with her husband, Andrew, and being a dog mom to their three fur children; Millee, Oaklee, and Remi. Her favorite things to do are making crafts, going antiquing, fishing, and being at the river. Brittany is a brain cancer survivor and feels that her struggles have made her a more compassionate dental assistant and person in general. Brittany believes that life can either make you bitter or it can make you better. You should choose better.

Mary Jo has worked in the Orthodontic field since 2012 when she earned a certificate in Orthodontic Assisting while obtaining an Associate degree in Allied Science. She became a part of the Austin Orthodontic family in 2015 and continues to work along side Dr. Austin, assisting and making new patients feel welcome during their initial exam. Mary Jo has also gained the responsibility as AOs in-house laboratory technician. Her favorite part of the day is encouraging our patients throughout the treatment process and revealing their new smile by removing their braces at the end of treatment. As Dr. Wayne Dyer said, Once you see a childs self-image begin to improve, you will see a significant gain in achievement areas, but even more important, you will see a child who is beginning to enjoy life more. Through her experience, Mary Jo has learned that a beautiful smile is one of many stepping stones toward a positive self-image.

Brittany D, (aka BRITT) started working at Austin Orthodontics in 2018 and is a Certified Orthodontic assistant. She has been working in the dental field since 2009, with a majority of that time in pediatrics. She loves watching her patient 's confidence grow with the changing of their smile. In her free time, she enjoys being with friends and family and doing anything outdoors. Britts favorite quote is; 'A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.

Lindsay is a Certified Dental Assistant with expanded functions. She graduated in 2014 from OTC and has been in the orthodontic field for 5 years. She enjoys helping patients on their journey to a beautiful smile as well as learning from Dr. Austin. In Lindsays free time she enjoys spending time with family. Jaclyn Bradshaw, Certified Orthodontic Assistant. Jaclyn has worked in the dental profession since 2016. She has a professional background in retail pharmacy and has earned degrees in Biological Clinical Science and Dental Assisting. Jaclyn plays many roles in the office from placing to removing braces, sterilizing instruments, making retainers, and instructing patients how to care for their teeth. Her favorite part of working in orthodontics is seeing the phases of excitement and confidence that patients go through, throughout treatment, from getting braces on, to the anticipation of seeing their smile for the first time after the braces are removed. She also enjoys fabricating appliances in the lab, which allows her to create something useful from nothing. Jaclyn believes that transforming a persons smile, has the potential to change their life. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, traveling, gardening, and spoiling her many animals. Jaclyns favorite quote bu J.K. Kara has come full circle at Austin Orthodontics. Kara was a patient at Austin Orthodontics when she was in high school. Then, she was an intern while she was attending assisting school at OTC. Now she is a Certified Orthodontic Assistant. Karas favorite part of working at Austin Orthodontics is seeing patient transformations. She loves watching patients see their new smile for the first time when they get their braces off.

When Kara is not at the office she enjoys spending time with her husband and son. She loves going to the lake, park, or the pool. As long as she is outside she is happy! Her favorite quote is Whatever you are, be a good one!

Hilary has bachelor degrees in both biology and dental hygiene, but feels her best work is encouraging others. Hilary has been in the dental profession since 2001. Although she is not chairside anymore, Hilary works best behind the scenes, making sure everyone at Austin Orthodontics is happy, having fun, and smiling. Hilary works on accounts payable, social media, designing & creating monthly patient contests, volunteering at our local schools, teaching dental health education, planning celebrations for the Austin Orthodontic Team, and she is the errand runner for the office. Hilary believes that challenges make life interesting, but overcoming those challenges makes life meaningful. In her spare time she loves spending time with Kevin and their boys, volunteering at school and with Care to Learn. Hilary is also a board member for the Smile Center.

Sams favorite thing about working at Austin Orthodontics is the close knit atmosphere between her co-workers. She loves that every employee puts the patient first. When she is not at the office, she loves to spend time on any type of water; floating, being poolside, or being at the lake.
