I began working in pediatric dentistry when I was in my early 20s, so the transition to orthodontics was a natural one. I have been at Aurora Orthodontics since 2006 and have varied roles in the office from accounting to human resources. I have also received Dr. Lausons treatment for TMJ dysfunction, and I am so grateful that it has resolved my pain issues. When I am not working, I love spending time with my husband and two children. I enjoy reading, hot yoga, traveling and family outings in our new camper.

I began working in the field of orthodontics in 1995 with a practice in North Carolina. Our family moved to the great state of Colorado in 2003. I began working with Dr. Lauson in 2005, and I have enjoyed serving in several capacities; in the clinic, with taking diagnostic records on patients, and in the administrative area. My time in the office is never boring! I am happily married to Todd and have two wonderful children, Claire and Kurt. We have a cat, dog and a bearded dragon. I enjoy the outdoors, various crafts, reading and spending time with my family. My life is going to be extra busy as I have recently enrolled in college courses with the goal of obtaining a degree.

Hi, my name is Jessica, and Im an Orthodontic Technician. I have been in the dental field for over 22 years. I first started in general dentistry and have been in the orthodontic field since 2009. When Im away from the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I really enjoy working with my team and patients at AOTMJ!

Brianna is originally from El Paso, Texas but has been in Colorado since she was 5 years old. Brianna started assisting in General Dentistry in 2015, however, her passion has always been Orthodontics. When she isnt working, you can find her dancing to her favorite song or playing with her dog Halle. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and football season is her favorite time of year. She loves to make others smile and loves being a part of patients treatment every step of the way.

Jolee treatment coordinates with Dr. Lauson to come up with the best treatment plans for our patients. Ever since she was little, she has always been on the go! Jolee graduated from the University of Northern Colorado (go bears!) with a Sport and Exercise Science degree where she fell in love with the human body and how it functions. After college, her passion for Disney drew her to Florida to work as a cast member at Walt Disney World to fulfill a lifelong dream. Here, she is so excited to continue to learn every day and provides the best experience for you and your children!

Leona is a Colorado native she is an avid sports lover; her favorites are the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies. She loves spending time with her boyfriend and their fur baby, Blu. They spend most of their time outdoors taking hikes and enjoying all the outdoors Colorado has to offer. Her favorite time is spent with friends and family at the lake. Leona has been in the orthodontic field for over 18 years. She assists with all orthodontics, Myobrace and TruDenta procedures and loves that she gets to meet so many awesome patients and their families.

Nichole started her career in healthcare over 20 years ago practicing neuromuscular massage and cranial sacral therapy, focusing on people who had chronic pain related to head and neck injuries. She began working with Dr. Lauson over 10 years ago at Aurora Orthodontics and TMJ with patients suffering from TMD. At that time, Nichole began continuing education in early orthodontic treatment and myofunctional therapy and a few years later assisted in the launching of NEO New Early Orthodontics. Her mission is to create an exceptional patient experience and to support Dr. Lauson and the team so they can continue to deliver exceptional care for our AOTMJ family. Alongside Dr. Lauson, Nichole participates yearly in multiple continuing education classes and summits in airway and orthodontics with leading dentists and physicians in the field. She is also a member of Associated Massage and Bodywork Professionals, the AAPMD and the American Orthodontic Association. Nichole is married with two daughters and is the step-mama to two bonus kids. Spending time with family & friends, finding fun little restaurants, traveling and hot yoga are a few of her favorite things.

I have literally lost all confidence in their practice. I would also like to add that Dr. Lauson has not periodically checked on me during my course of treatment. I saw him maybe twice after receiving my orthotic. Plus, I saw the other doctor once because of the pain I am in. I am in the last phase of treatment with clear invisilne aligners and I am in SO much more pain than I originally sought treatment. Both sides of my face hurt so bad and my teeth no longer touch in the back so I am constantly holding my jaw in its new position and be in excruciating pain or Travel back my old bite and be in excruciating pain and experience the popping and grinding of my previous TMJ disorder. Also, my jaw originally locked closed but now it is also locking open (which it never did before) when I yawn causing me even more pain. They absolutely do not care about the pain I am in.

Absolutely despicable business ethics, and a place where the dollar bill takes precedence over customer health and well being. I find it absolutely disgusting how the Aurora Orthodontics took advantage of a naive girl ,eager to boost her self esteem, until they emptied her savings until she could no longer afford the treatment, and then they discarded her like sunday trash, with the the braces brackets still glued to all her teeth!!!!! THEY WOULDNT EVEN REMOVE THE BRACES. THEY REFUSED TO SEE HER AFTER SHE COULDNT PAY AND STILL TO THIS DAY HAS BRACES THAT SHE CANT AFFORD TO BE REMOVED, LET. ALONE ADJUSTED!!!! THIS WAS 3 YEARS AGO. MY FIANCE STILL HAS BRACES ATTACHED TO HER TEETH THAT HAVNT BEEN ADJUSTED. THEY STATE THAT THEY WOULD NOT REMOVE THE BRACES UNTIL SHE PAID HER BALNCE FROM THE THE PREVIOUS VISiT, and on top of that, paid for the removal of the braces!!!! it takes 15 minutes to remove the brackets. her teeth are in far worse shape then they ever were!!! these people made her situation 10 times worse then before she ever stepped foot in that place. these abhorently, heartless robots are simply programmed to empty your pockets, then kick you to the curb and leave you high and dry.

I have received excellent care and service at Aurora Orthodontics & TMJ (AOTMJ) / Dr. Lauson. I had interference with my bite, Dr. Lauson recommended spreading my upper jaw and then straightening with Invisalign., 2 yrs. 8 months later I am extremely pleased with my bite, smile, and as an added bonus from widening upper jaw I breath and sleep better (vastly reduced my snoring). The entire staff is excellent, and I want to thank Leona specifically for her awesomeness / professionalism, attention to detail, and overall assistance when I had an issue. The individuals are friendly & kind when it comes to service, however it seems that very few people are familiar with the plans put in place for patients. I have had several experiences where I have been told one thing, then something completely different the next time, it's been challenging to get clear answers. Most recently, when I opted to pick up in person a replacement item, they mailed it instead delaying it by an extra 2 days unnecessarily, and when I got the replacement there are issues with it that need to be corrected.

My daughter and I started treatment with Dr. Lauson in 2016. He told us both we would be in treatment for 2 years. We had beautiful teeth before we started however, he said he could help with my teeth grinding and my daughters small airway. My daughter was going to be moving to Europe and Dr. Lauson and staff assured us that he could do her Invisalign treatment long distance by Skype. That never happened 1 time! After being in treatment 4 1/2 years, there wasn't a dentist who would do the implants Dr. Lauson recommended because of the over jet of my upper teeth. They said there was no way my bite would ever be right and informed me that I had 12 cracked teeth from my bite being off for so long and my teeth hitting in the wrong place. During this time, Dr. Lauson changed the treatment plan for my daughter without informing us and what a disaster. Her teeth were all over the place in her mouth. After flying her home from Europe to get a solution, I took my daughter to the dentist Dr. Lauson recommended to see what she thought and she too was horrified by what she saw on my 24 year-old daughter. I then set up a meeting with the dentist, Dr. Lauson and our family and he admitted that he was at fault and he was confused between my treatment plan and my daughters!! We stopped treatment July 2020 and asked for him to reimburse us for treatment and travel expenses for my daughter (two trips back from Europe to Colorado) and he did nothing...except hire an attorney to drag his feet with my complaint to DORA (Colorado Dental Board) so he doesn't lose his dental license. Fast forward 6+ years and my daughter and I are still in treatment with another orthodontist trying to fix the mess Dr. Lauson and his staff created in our mouthes. I have a lisp now and a crooked smile. Please know that during all this time "the staff" kept telling us to trust the process however, after seeing 4 dentists and 3 other orthodontists who could not comprehend his "treatment plan" we had no choice but to leave his practice. Further none of them would take my case I'm sure for liability reasons. I was lucky to finally find Dr. Lauson's former orthodontist business partner whot took my case. Feel free to reach out to me if you want to see the horrific pictures of our teeth during that time. I highly recommend you do your research before choosing this practice for your orthodontic care.

I've been going to them for 4 years to fix the extensive wreck that is my mouth (had unneccessary teeth pulled, severe TMJ dysfunction, still need to finish up my dental implants, it's been a really rough time) and from start to finish they've only been amazing. Even with the large staff change compared to when I started, I have been consistently cared for and listened to. I'm also no longer in the horrible pain from TMJ dysfunction, and can breathe through my nose again! I am so thankful to have found this team. I will always recommend Aurora Orthodontics.

You won't find a better ortho team anywhere else! The front desk, the entire staff and doctors run an extremely well oiled machine, they genuinely care about their patient's progress and you will never feel like a number is here. I thought I was destined to be in jaw pain for my whole life and was anticipating tmj surgery down the road. They guided me into the path of significantly less pain and I will be forever grateful- if you have jaw pain, you know. It's a no brainer for me- they're the best!

Very good service and advice, and the treatment has a lot of bonuses that usually you have to pay for individually.

Before I found AO, I had visited other orthodontists and had been referred to an oral surgeon who told me I needed/qualified for jaw surgery and how the procedure would work all in less than 5 minutes. When I met Dr. Lauson and team as a last resort before scheduling surgery my entire perspective changed. I spent more time discussing my symptoms and having Dr .Lauson explain the reasons behind my pain and how he could help than I had with all the prior experts combined! I felt like the team instantly understood my troubles and how to help! Best part is no surgery with results I could feel in as little as 3 months. My symptoms that were all extremely painful and ruling my life were gone in 3 months once my jaw was used to being positioned where is it's meant to be!!! My life is forever changed and I could not write a higher recommendation for AO. Please at least give the opportunity for a consultation!

AOTMJ has been amazing! The staff is always so warm and welcoming. I love to go to my appointments because it is just like catching up with old friends! AOTMJ is professional beyond measure and really sets the bar for other orthodontists in the region. Dr. Lausen really pays attention to detail and listens closely to his clients' symptoms. When I went to AOTMJ we weren't sure what was going on with me at first. The team did extensive research before very clearly presenting their findings to me. When I was diagnosed with TMJ, not only was I given lifestyle tips to improve my jaw pain, but AOTMJ went over textbook information with me that really laid out the structural causes. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
