Dr. Jose Chacon received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in South America, at theUniversity of the Andes, Venezuela. He moved to New York and Texas to complete his post-graduate training. A dual trainee in orofacial pain and orthodontics, Dr. Chacon graduated from theUniversity of Texas Health Science Centerat San Antonio, where he completed his three-year post-doctoral program in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. This school is considered to be one of the top dental schools in the US.
Following orthodontic graduation, Dr. Chacon became a certified dental specialist in orthodontics in the state of Illinois, where he has been practicing since 2003. He became a board-certified orthodontist in 2007.
In addition to his training in orthodontics, Dr. Chacon completed a Master of Science degree in oral sciences at theSchool of Dental Medicinein Buffalo, New York. During the time he was in New York he also completed a two-year, full-time training in orofacial pain and temporomandibular disorders.
When he is not with his patients, Dr. Chacon enjoys spending time with his family and participating in outdoor activities such as downhill skiing, tennis, and running. He has volunteered for mission trips to underserved areas in Central America, treating patients in extremely poor conditions. He has also participated in local orthodontic efforts to treat underserved patients in the Chicago community with the American Association of Orthodontists through orthodontic donated services.
Dr. Patino earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1994 at theUniversity of the Andesin Venezuela, where she was born and raised. She then moved to Buffalo, New York, for her three-year post-graduate periodontics residency program at theState University of New Yorkat Buffalo. She received her specialty certificate in periodontics from that institution in 2001, along with a masters degree in oral sciences. Dr. Patino has been practicing periodontics and living in the Chicago area for the last ten years.
Dr. Patino attends several continuing education courses during the year at the local, national, and international levels to keep abreast of the latest research and clinical advances. She strives to provide her patients with the best, most up-to-date care. Her areas of special interest include periodontal and implant-related aesthetics.
Dr. Patino is an active member of theAmerican Academy of Periodontology,American Board of Periodontology,American Dental Association,Midwest Society of Periodontology,Illinois Society of Periodontists, andIllinois State Dental Society. In 2004, Dr. Patino became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, the highest attainable academic achievement in the field of periodontics.
Dr. Chacon has provided outstanding orthodontic care through Aurora Orthodontics & Periodontics since 2013. Dr. Chacon has a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree, is a certified dental specialist in orthodontics in the state of Illinois, and is a board-certified orthodontist.

We had a very positive experience during our time with Aurora Orthodontics. We never had a bad experience at any of our appointments. The doctor and his staff were very thorough and explained everything to my daughter. She came in with teeth that I did not think could be fixed and now has a beautiful smile. We are extremely grateful.

I always get the same lady every time, and she hurts my mouth so bad. I get that braces will hurt, but I'd wince in pain and it's like she would intentionally press even harder. Sometimes I even feel like screaming out of pain. I don't know how I'm getting stuck with the same chick EVERY time. I never look forward to going because the pain hurts so bad.

We have three people we have to get braces for. So shopping around was a big task. I am also very picky when it comes to my family's medical professionals. I was impressed by the nice office area and the friendliness of the front office personnel. When Dr. Chocon came to evaluate my daughter I was impressed by his findings but even more glad to hear that my insurance would help with the cost. Since this is not our first round of braces in my family I kind of knew what to expect. They surpassed my expectations. For every question I had Doctor had a very logical and reasonable explanation. He has thought of everything. I could not believe that when I called in with a problem he came in on his day off with his three small children!! WOW!! It was his turn for child care and the whole family came in just for us. I would have never expected that and felt very badly but I was very impressed. Only a doctor who really cares would do this. When the braces came off I was even more impressed. At the end of my daughters treatment the way he does the retainer maintenance is so much better than any other doctor (we have been to 5 orthodontist). His way made so much sense. I also loved it because there is much less of a chance for the retainer to get lost or tossed out after eating lunch at school. Best of all, almost the whole office is Bilingual Spanish and English. In Aurora where the demographics are very Hispanic, that is just smart Business. I am so impressed that my other daughter is already in treatment with Dr. Chocon and my youngest who was evaluated at will be in braces in a few years. I wish we had found Dr. Chocon sooner and the others in my family would have gone there too. I am sure the treatment would have been much better. He also takes the state medical plans and can evaluate for coverage and he has a very fair payment plan. Para los Hispanohablantes: Dr. Chocon es el mejor doctor que he encontrado para mi familia. Tambien si tienen la tajeta medica el sabe decirle si la tajeta medica cubre los gastos. Si no tienen un plan de pagos muy bueno. Tengo a mis do hijas bajo su quidado y pronto ira mi hijo tambien. El Doctor es super buena gente y los asistentes tambien son muy cordiales. Hagase la evaluacion gratis para comparar con otros ortodontos.

This place waste my time. They said my insurance 4 weeks to get information about my benifits. I am educated professional and consumer. I knew my coverage. I called the insurance directly after 4 weeks. My insurance never received the paperwork. I called the office and they said the insurance has not response to them. Who lie I do not know? Dr. Chacon looks very professional but his support team did not look efficient and supporting x me. To waste your time going there.

This is very nice clean the office. Also all the staffs are very nice but Antoinette is the best. Every time me and my daughter see her she is always happy and she do her job very serious . We like her the best!

Great customer service. Very clean. Make sure they meet customers needs. If something is unknown, they try to get the information and get back to you in a timely manner. If you don't have any insurance, they are reasonably priced. Overly highly I highly recommend Aurora Orthodontist.
