Gum disease is one of the leading causes of tooth loss. Gum disease has two primary stages. If diagnosed and treated in the first stage, the condition can be reversed and tooth loss can usually be prevented. In order to prevent gum disease, practice good oral hygiene and visit your dentist for cleanings and check-ups twice a year.

This stage only affects the soft tissue of the gums, and the patient may not experience any discomfort. Although the symptoms may be very mild, it is important to diagnose gum disease in this early stage before it progresses to periodontitis.

Periodontitis is the name for more advanced periodontal disease and if permitted to progress to this point, not only the gums are affected but the bone structures supporting the teeth will be compromised.

A build-up of bacteria causes Gingivitis. In its early stages, inflammation around the gums is observable, with gum tissues appearing red and swollen. Gums that are easily irritated or that bleed during tooth brushing indicate the presence of Gingivitis. Removal of the plaque buildup is necessary to prevent the development of gum disease.

As the gums become more inflamed, they start to pull away from the teeth, forming spaces known as periodontal pockets. Food, bacteria, and plaque begin to collect in the pockets, leading to infection. The surrounding bone becomes damaged both by bacterial toxins and by the immune systemsresponse to infection.

Maintaining oral health includes good home care and regular visits to our office for preventive care, which includes oral examinations and cleanings. Even with excellent care, however, teeth and gums can be susceptible to disease, infection, cavities, cracks, or other forms of damage.

Comprehensive examinations of the mouth, teeth, surrounding gum tissues, and supporting bone structures help with early detection and treatment of problematic conditions.Restorative dentistry is the aspect of dentistry that helps maintain oral and overall health even when the health of one or more teeth or the surrounding areas is compromised.

Restorative dentistry helps preserve natural teeth. The goal of restorative dentistry is to restore the function and integrity of the tooth structure, function, and health, while maintaining a natural appearance.

Our office also specializes in cosmetic dentistry. This means that we not only pay attention to the health and function of your teeth, but we also pay close attention to aesthetics. We want you to maintain great oral health but we also want you to have a beautiful smile and the confidence to smile often!

The dentists at Aurora Dental are wonderful. My experience was totally pain free. The staff are very friendly. My only complaint is a financial one. At my last visit I was informed I had a credit on my account but they were holding it in case something serious cropped up. I waited a little over a year and called the office to get refunded. It was verified I did have a (sizable) credit and she would let the office manager know I requested the refund. Several weeks passed and I heard nothing so I called and lo and behold my credit was gone. Instead a couple of "adjustments" had been made to my account so I was at a zero balance. I requested an explanation of these adjustments and have heard NOTHING from them. For that reason I cannot recommend them.

Cancelled an old appointment because my new insurance was out of network, received a call from the office assuring me they were in network, and today I receive a bill for 363$ that I can't afford. Would recommend you to avoid. To add, when I called to try to resolve this issue I was informed of their collection policy with 0 flexibility.

It was our first time at this dental office and it was easily our best dentist experience ever. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and compassionate to us. We felt valued from the moment we walked in the door! We will recommend everyone we meet to this facility. Thank you for the such a positive experience!

Sent an email about my tooth aching pretty good. No one emailed or called me back. I called them back and got in. Dr. gave me Amoxicillin. Again, No one called me to see how I was doing afterwards. The amoxicillin did not help. Went back to the office with increased pain. His associate then asked me if anyone told me that I had a cracked tooth? I said no. The pain was evermore increasing and I left the office without an alternative antibiotic. Again, no one bothered to check on me. Last weekend the pain traveled from my upper right gum to my face and now I was experiencing severe headaches. I nearly ended up in the hospital. I finally found Great Dental care elsewhere. Now I have people who really care about me. I get texts, emails and phone calls. What a difference it is when your given the attention you need when your in severe pain. Also, Dr. Caputo needs to quit addressing his aging patients as "Young Lady" as he did with me. I've sent an email much like this one to their office. Again, No Reply! Shocking!

I recently started using this Dental Practice and couldn't be more pleased. The staff is so inviting and considerate. I went because of pain in my mouth and was told that I had an old filling on the bottom right that had fallen out and I needed a filling and the pain in the rest of my mouth was recessed gums. They filled the tooth and gave me some ointment for my gums. My previous Dental Practice told me I needed 2,000.00 worth of Dental work. I am also very hard of hearing and they were patient and kind explaining things multiple times Aurora Dental is who my Family and I will see from now on and will refer friends and family

I had been battling severe tooth pain for several days. I finally called as I work close to this office. They were able to get me in quick and resolved the issue. Friendly staff, took the time to explain the process and why I needed a different scan instead of just the regular X ray. It's a beautiful office with new equipment, completely different than my old dentist. Would recommend!

I would not recommend this office to anyone with decent morals and any kind of human compassion. Unfortunately the office manager Marilyn condones racial and homophobic slurs to be said in her presence and also contributes to these demeaning conversations as well. Anyone with a decent moral compass will stay far far away!

The office manager Marilyn is the most unprofessional person you could have running this location. Good luck in the future as you will need it with her. Don't worry about a response as I'm sure you will only offer excuses. I would give zero stars if possible. I guess racial and homophobic terminology is part of their office culture. Don't support these terrible people.
