Dr. Deal,originally from Statesboro, GA, graduated from MCG School of Dentistry in 1974 and returned to Augusta following a 2 year navy internship to begin his practice in 1977. He has served our community faithfully for 40 years and describes the office as his second home. Dr. Deal loves his patients and built his practice one patient and one relationship at a time. Outside the office he finds ways to give back to the Augusta community in his spare time and currently serves as the chairman of the MCG foundation. Although a lifelong golfer, you most likely won't find him on the golf course these days, but with the love of his life, Donna, and their three grandkids.
We are excited to welcome Dr. Green to our practice. Walt has been a lifetime patient of ours. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and served as an Army Blackhawk pilot for the 101st Airborne Division. After receiving his dental degree from Medical College of Georgia, Walt completed a one-year postgraduate residency at the Charlie Norwood VA Hospital for additional training in restorative treatments, implants, and prosthetics. Walt continues to practice with the VA part-time. Outside the office you may find Walt with his wife, Mary Kate, and two daughters enjoyingpreciousfamily time.
After 40 years you get the hang of things in a dental office. Originally from Virginia and a graduate for AB tech, Dot began as an assistant with Dr. Deal and has been here ever since. She is now the wizard behind the curtain and keeps everything running on a daily basis. You may find her drinking a green morning shake while cruising between rooms, managing finances, taking phones calls, and fixing equipment. If you smell some essential oils it is probably Dot who dabbles in the oil business (not Jeds black gold but the smelly kind). Dot enjoys sports, her family and has a beautiful garden full of critters and natural eats she shares with the office.
Originally from Charlotte NC, Melissa graduated from dental hygiene school at AB Tech in Ashville, NC. Melissa was a dental coordinator for an extraction clinic during school. She is a consummate professional constantly educating her patients about prevention of disease and hygiene. Melissa will help guide you back and maintain great oral health if you stick with her. You will also be entertained by her love of good music from bluegrass to rock. When she is not at work she stays busy camping, traveling, managing a music promotions company, gardening, and caring for her bees.
Natalie grew up in Evans and has been around dentistry most of her life. She is a 2009 Graduate of MCG and is a true dental professional. She takes the care and management of her patients personally. Natalie is constantly working to provide her patients with the best information for home care and disease prevention. She wont be late and keeps everyone in the office on schedule. When she is not at work she is probably out gardening or walking her three rescue dogs with her husband.
Christy joined our practice in 2004. Christy loves people and loves our patients. She brings a wealth of experience and restorative knowledge to our team. She has a huge heart and brings the love to our team. Although you would never know it, this girl can eat too! When she is not at work you may catch her with her family and friends sharing laughter and smiles across the CSRA.
Leigh Ann has been a dental assistant since 1998. She graduated from Aiken Technical College and has worked in the office for the past 20 years. This girl can do it all. She understands how to make your restorative visit comfortable and efficient. When she is not at the office, supermom is rushing around in the car trying to keep up with her active boys between practices. Like most in our office she loves the great outdoors and can be found on the Edisto or Savannah River kayaking and exploring with her boys.
