The son, and first child, of a school Principal, Sherlo Shively, and a Kindergarten Teacher, Ila Shively, David was born and raised in Bakersfield with his two sisters, Karen Blockley and Diane McConnell.Gaining his primary education from the schools of Horrace Mann Elementary, Harding Elementary, Compton Junior High, and East Bakersfield High School. After high school, David moved to La Verne to attend college where he received his Bachelor of Science degree from The University of La Verne before moving to San Francisco. Knowing dentistry was what he enjoyed, David chose The University of the Pacific School of Dentistry where he completed his studies to earn the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery or D.D.S. Dr. David D. Shively D.D.S. returned to his home town of Bakersfield, CA and began practicing dentistry.
First born in a family of two, Roger was raised in Paris, France where he spent the majority of his childhood. His parents, Chieu Pham and Hieng Te, were immigrants looking for a better life for their children. Roger has one brother who is also studying to be a dentist. Roger grew up speaking French and completed his education in France where he attained his certification before moving to the United States. There, he completed his primary education at Westminster High School in Orange County. After high school, Roger obtained his Bachelor of Science at the California State University in Long Beach. After contemplating the health field for a while, Roger set his course upon Dentistry where he knew his love for art could also be combined with his knowledge of science in order to help others get healthier and simultaneously feel better about themselves. Roger chose to attend the prestigious University of Southern California 's Ostrow School of Dentistry, where he became a Trojan and where he also earned his degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery. Roger also completed a year of Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the University of California, San Francisco in order to be more proficient in treating his patients.In his spare time, Roger enjoys reading books, spending time with his fianc, watching movies, and staying active working out and playing volleyball. I decided to switch dentists when my dentist moved even further across town. Auburn Dental Center is in NE Bakersfield just 5 minutes from my house so I decided to try it on the recommendation by a neighbor. Last week I had my first 2 appointments there and I was very pleased! The technician took a full set of x-rays and she was so professional and friendly. Dr Pham examined my teeth a even made a bite adjustment I needed for a poor-fitting crown. He was very gentle and skilled. I felt totally relaxed with him. Two days later the dental hygienist Laura cleaned my teeth and did a great job. She was very gentle also. The two receptionists are friendly and efficient. The office is exceptionally clean. I highly recommend Auburn Dental Center and Dr Pham!!

This is a fantastic dental office. Dr Pham has an outstanding disposition and his work is first rate state of the art. He fixed a tooth that had been bothering me for years with a crown he made in a single office visit. It fit perfectly and solved my problem in less than 3 hours. My previous dentist was unable to resolve what Dr Pham did quickly with some of the best communication I have ever experienced from a doctor or dentist. I highly recommend Auburn Dental.

Our family has been with Dr Shively and staff for over 40 years... His service and professionalism has never wavered! My sister who is a patient and is Special Needs has been treated with kindness and compassion always! So grateful for this Dentist office!

I have been a patient of Auburn Dentist for almost 25 years. I am a big fan of Dr, Shivley because he has done great work with my smile but more importantly you know he cares for you. His staff is absolutely wonderful. Now that he has retiring Dr. Pham has become a major part of the team and I believe he is the right dentist to care for us. Dr. Pham has already shown he is very caring and knowledgeable. I look forward to my continual visit to Auburn Dental. BTW I have the best hygienist, Lynette.

I've been going to Auburn Dental for over 45.years. I saw Dr Shively for most of that time. I saw the same hygienist for just as long. They were consistantly professional and competent. When Dr Shively decided to slow down, I was moved to Dr Pham, I didn't know what to expect, but I have been just as happy with my care as I have always been. I have many other health issues and they have always been compassionate and have worked with me to accommodate my issues. Even Cindy at the front desk has been there as long as I can remember and is very friendly and knowledgeable. My hygienist is Lynette and she is very experienced, and is like a friend to me, I've known her for so long. If your looking for a dental group, I highly recommend them. Ill never leave.

I'm new to Auburn Dental and Dr Roger but am so far quite impressed with the office, Doctor and staff. The hygienists I've seen were both very gentle and thorough. Dr Roger is attentive to my questions and explains clearly. I am very pleased with this office.
