After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, Dr. Bird attended The Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry where he earned his DDS degree. Dr. Bird achieved the Fellowship Award in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2014.
Upon graduation from dental school, he completed a General Practice Residency at the Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Administration Medical Center. Dr. Bird is a member of several dental study clubs, the Academy of General Dentistry and believes strongly in continuing education.
A general dentist who is a 'Fellow' in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) has been recognized by other general dentists as a leader and an example to other dentists of the importance of quality continuing dental education to patient care. Fellows have accepted the charge to keep abreast of advances in dentistry for the benefit of patients and the betterment of dentistry. They serve as mentors and leaders to other dentists pursuing continuing dental education.
In the AGD's 60 year history (2012), only 15,343 dentists have ever earned Fellowship. This is quite a low number of qualifying dentists, especially when one breaks the numbers down to reveal on average only 4-5 dentists per state per year achieve Fellowship. Less than 5% of all dentists ever achieve Fellowship. When your dentist has achieved the Fellowship Award, you can be assured that they are dedicated to providing the finest care in general dentistry.

Love these fabulous people. I can't tell you what they have meant to me this year. Been diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in 2021. Teeth were falling apart after chemo and radiation, Dr. Alice, love her, is the only dentist in 60 years that I found that I love to go see. Just sorry it took so long to find her. What an Angel team they are!

This was the best experience ANYone could EVER ask for! Honest, helpful, clean and the staff is tops in the business! This place is amazing! I recently moved to the area and was in the market for a dentist and my family is blessed to have found this practice. Everyone's been so kind and helpful. When they are providing care they ask if I have questions or concerns and make the whole process as seamless as possible. 5 stars is not nearly enough, so I will also leave reviews on Yelp and Yellow Pages.

Dr. Bird and every member of his team deserve a 10 out of 10! Every person from the the front desk, to the hygienist to Dr. Bird himself was incredibly polite and professional. Too many dentists these days are amalgams of several dentists sharing a corporate office which treat you like a factor of production on their conveyor belt to the bank. Today I felt like I was with a team that cared out me and my dental health! Thank you Dr. Bird!
