In order to become an orthodontist, I attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, where I attained my DMD. I then graduated from the Medical College of Virginia with my Masters Degree and Orthodontic Certificate.

Because orthodontics is continually changing with new technology and methods, I know how important continuing education is to providing the highest quality treatments for my patients. As a part of my continuing studies, I am a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Maine Dental Association, The York County Dental Society and the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists. I am currently president of the York County Dental Society.

I am able to use my education, knowledge and skills to help each patient attain a smile that is beautiful and healthy. Every person is different, and each treatment I provide is unique. This makes my job both challenging and incredibly rewarding.

As their smiles change, I can see my patients become more self-confident and happier. I love making personal connections with each person who comes to visit, and they all become part of the Atlantic Orthodontic family. After more than ten years in practice, I have been lucky enough to make some wonderful friendships with people in our community.

I am proud of what I do, and happy to say our patients have a good time here! Kids love our orthobucks rewards program, and adult patients appreciate our kind and gentle nature. Whole families often come in for treatment, and though everyone has a different experience, I can see how much they enjoy coming to see us!

I grew up in Andover, MA, and have lived in Kennebunk since 2001. I love being part of such a wonderful community! I have three sons named Kai, Berk and Graem, my husband and I enjoy spending time outdoorswith them. I love snowboarding, skiing, running, practicing yoga and participating in triathlons. I also love to sail vintage sailboats around coastal Maine! I care about our community, and regularly volunteer at a community dental clinic in Biddeford.

Hi there! I work for Dr. Glidden as a clinical assistant, and my duties include placing and removing appliances and teaching each patient how to properly clean and take care of their teeth while in orthodontic treatment. I also make retainers in our lab. The best part of my job is meeting and getting to know so many different people who come in to visit us. I love hearing about their lives and families, and getting to know them personally.

Hi, its nice to meet you! I am a clinical assistant. I change wires, adjust braces, place appliances, and make retainers and other orthodontic appliances for our patients. I also help educate our patients on proper home care for their appliances. I enjoy learning about our patients' lives and activities, and appreciate the cohesive and friendly team approach in our office. Our team gets along well, and we love to share laughs with our patients!

As the clinical coordinator, I help make sure our patients have a wonderful orthodontic experience. I remove and replace wires, help educate each patient on proper home care, and ensure that our practice runs smoothly and efficiently. My favorite part of my job is getting to know all our wonderful patients while also working with a great doctor and wonderful co-workers!

Hi there! I am a clinical assistant and lab technician in our practice. I help keep all instruments sterile, pour dental models and make retainers for our patients. My favorite part of my job is seeing the different transformations with our patients throughout their treatments. I also enjoy working with such an awesome team! Dr. Glidden is passionate about her patients, and I love to watch her make a difference in their lives by creating beautiful smiles. Outside the office, I love spending time with my husband and our wonderful daughter, Meggan.

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.

Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!

Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.
