Dr. Leonard T. Fazio graduated from New York University College of Dentistry, NY, New York in 1988. Shortly after graduating and working in the dental field, he began to experience myriad health problems including, irregular heartbeat, fatigue, unexplained anxiety, headaches and sensitivity to light and sound. While his physicians could offer no cause or provide any solutions, Dr. Fazio knew that something was wrong.

We are an out-of-network provider. If you have insurance coverage with an insurer or plan which allows you to go out of network, we will bill your insurance company as a courtesy to you. Ultimately, you are responsible for any charges not covered by insurance and is due at time of service.

While his physicians could offer no cause or provide any solutions, Dr. Fazio knew that something was wrong. It was not, as many suggested, 'all in your head'. Convinced that there had to be another explaination, his research led him to question whether his occupation was to blame. After attending a seminar in Colorado Springs, CO, in the fall of 1992, he finally got his answers. It was obvious then that in addition to having a mouthfull of 'silver' amalgam fillings, which are actually 50% MERCURY, and then having an occupational exposure to mercury from drilling and filling with that material,Dr. Faziowas being slowly, steadilypoisoned by Mercury !! It was at that moment that he realized that despite the prevailing notion that these so-called silver fillings were actually a problem and immediately vowed to stop using them in his practice.

After receiving a formal education and training on the proper handling of mercury-fillings, as well as the mercury-safe amalgam-removal protocols from the renowned Dr. Hal Huggins, DDS, MS, Dr. Fazio's life changed dramatically. After making some lifestyle changes his diet andchanging his diet, Dr. Fazio, slowly and steadily recovered from this Mercury toxicity. To hear him tell it, Dr, Fazio feels very fortunate to have found this important information early on in his dental career. It has allowed him to get truly healthy and his patients have benefitted as well. Dr. Fazio has been practicing mercury-free, mercury-safeand metal-free dentistry since 1993, and he is dedicated to the philosophy of holistic, integrated dentistry. Hecontinued to seek more training from Dr.Hal Huggins, DDS, and continues to expand his knowledge on this subject, as well as any and all complimentary therapies and protocols designed to promote optimal oral and overall health. As your Oral Health doctor, Dr. Fazio is well-versed in alternative and intergrative medicine, and can coordinate dental treatment with your Medical Doctor, Naturopath, Chiropractor, Acupuncturist, or other healthcare provider.

Dr. Fazio believes that continuing education is a powerful tool that allows him to provide you and your family the finest and most current state-of-the-art dental care. Each year he takes many hours of advanced continuing education courses in many areas of holistic and traditional dentistry.

Our office is conveniently located in historic Port Jefferson, NY and is easily accessed via plane (Islip's Mac Arthur Airport - ISP), train, automobile, and passenger ferry (via Bridgeport, CT).

Dr. Fazio is married to wife Jo-Ann, and together they are raising 3 healthy boys. Dr. Fazio enjoys coaching his sons in various sports including: football, basketball, lacrosse, soccer, baseball, and rugby. He is also a team trainer and medic, providing holistic emergency medical and dental treatment in cases of traumatic injury. This unique approach to injury management includes the use of homeopathy to complement traditional first-aid measures. Dr. Fazio is also a long-time (long-suffering!) New York Jets season-ticket holder. Previously, Dr. Fazio held the position of Team Dentist for the New York Lizards Lacrosse team of the MLL. Dr. Fazio's dream job would be Team dentist for the New York Rangers hockey team!

I have been a dental assistant since 2008. I was born and raised on long island. I started working with Dr.Fazio in 2015. He is an awesome dentist to work with as well as the rest of the team. I love being a dental assistant and helping patients maintain and achieve beautiful healthy smiles as well as comforting each patient during their treatment. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband. We are adventurous and love to travel. In the summer, we love to go kayaking, paddle boarding and going to concerts.

I Grew up locally in Saint James. I have been a dental hygienist for over 30 years, I am dedicated to providing comfortable and thorough treatment. I am trained to give comfortable dental injections and administer Nitrous Oxide. I have been practicing holistic dentistry for 15+ years, I also have become a Myofunctional Therapist. In addition, I have knowledge on essential oils and its use in the holistic dental practice. I am happily married for 25+ years with three children. I like to enjoy spending my free time with my family and dog. I love to spend time outdoors and relaxing by the beach.
