Atlanta Family Dentistry is led by the mother-and-daughter team of Dr. Helen Cheng and Dr. Lily Liu. Dr. Helen Cheng is committed to practicing comprehensive dentistry with kindness and care, and brings over 25 years of experience in the field. She is a believer in preventive care and total wellness through patient education. With her many years of dental science training and clinical experience, she provides the highest standard of care in cosmetic dentistry, root canal treatment, crowns, dentures, implant dentistry and dental extractions.
Dr. Cheng received her DDS and masters in oral medicine at one of Chinas top dental schools, Jiaotong University School of Stomatology in Shanghai. She completed postdoctoral training at the University of North Carolina, and after numerous publications there she went on to the University of Pennsylvania, where she completed her DMD. She moved to the Atlanta area in 2008 and started Atlanta Family Dentistry shortly after.
Dr. Lily Liu welcomes patients regardless of whether they love or hate going to the dentist. Whether youre embarrassed of your smile or are a dedicated brusher and flosser, she would be delighted to meet you. She enjoys helping people of all backgrounds, especially those with a history of dental anxiety, become happy and healthy patients.
Dr. Liu earned her B.S. in Biomedical Science at The Ohio State University. She completed her DMD at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and went on to complete the NYU Langone Health Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Fenway Health. Afterward, she worked for several years in the greater Boston area before moving to Atlanta. She is certified in Invisalign and SureSmile clear aligner therapy.
While at Harvard, her work developing a student dental clinic for low-income children earned her membership in the Paul Ambrose Scholars Program as well as the Harvard Community Service Award. She speaks Spanish, Mandarin, and Portuguese. She lives in Marietta with her husband and 2 children, and enjoys doing calligraphy and hiking in her free time.
Charlotte is the first friendly face youll see when you come into our office. She was originally born in Chicago, but grew up in Kentucky as part of a military family. She completed her dental assistant training at the Everest Institute in 2007 and now primarily manages our front desk. She is an insurance expert and will help you make sure you get every dollar from your benefits. Her favorite part of her job is making a difference in peoples smiles. In her spare time, she loves hanging out with her husband and kids, who are 7, 6, and 1 and going out with friends.
Ambra moved to the Atlanta area from her hometown of Boynton Beach, Florida. She has been with Atlanta Family Dentistry for 6 years and is a graduate of the Georgia Medical Institute school of dental assisting. She loves seeing the look on patients faces when they see their new teeth in the mirror for the first time. She is a rockstar clinical assistant who helps all our treatments run smoothly and keeps all our clinic spotless and organized. She most enjoys assisting for surgeries and helping patients with emergencies. In her free time, she loves napping, eating Italian food, and spending time with her 12 year old daughter and her baby son, born October 2019.
Olympia moved to the Atlanta area from Tallahassee, Florida. She received her associates in dental assisting from Fortis College and continuously strives to keep learning to be a better and better assistant. She loves the passion of our team as we work together to help our patients achieve healthy and beautiful smiles. Olympia enjoys spending time with her heart and joy, her 5-year-old son Josiah. They have a Pomeranian named Ms. Foxy and a Yorkshire Terrier named Shiloh. Olympia likes walking trails, exploring nature, playing basketball with Josiah, and reading.
