Atlanta Dentures - Prosthodontist in Marietta, GA

Dr. Thomas Van Galder, D.D.S. graduated in the very top of his class from the prestigious Emory University School of Dentistry, one of the best dental programs in the country. He then went on to take a plethora of post graduate courses.

He has over 31 years of experience and has completed many post graduate courses to enhance his tremendous expertise in extractions and dentures. The Doctors emphasis on patient comfort as well as his dedication to mastering the latest advancements in dentistry, and his determination to provide his patients with the best quality care ensure the patient has the best experience possible. A common compliment we hear often is this is the best dental office I have ever found.

Dr. Daniel Van Galder has been a Georgia resident his entire life, having been born in Atlanta and raised in Gwinnett County. After graduating from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Chemistry in 2008, he became a dental lab technician where he developed a passion for helping others. While working as a lab technician Dr. Van Galder was able to see patients smiles and lives transformed through dentistry. Through this driving force, he went on to obtain his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the Medical College of Georgia (now known as Augusta University Dental College of Georgia). Upon graduation he moved to Marietta, Georgia where he currently resides and practices.

After graduating dental school, Dr. Van Galder went on to further his education by completing a residency in IV sedation through the Academy of Medical and Dental Anesthesia. Dr. Van Galder has received advanced training in oral surgery and implantology at the Engel Institute and continues to pursue training from some of the most respected doctors around the world. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantology.

In addition to working at several other offices, Dr. Daniel Van Galder helped re-focus both the laboratory and office of his fathers practice: Atlanta Dentures. Deciding that care and comfort of his patients were his top priority, he has dedicated extensive time and effort into adding modern techniques and services to the strong foundation of his practice. He has since trained his two younger brothers, Thomas and Michael, in the art of denture fabrication from the unique paradigm of a dentist/lab technician and helped them to shift the lab from a traditional to a high tech digital laboratory.

Dr. Van Galders mission is to always be aware of all options to provide the best education and treatment he can to ensure the long-term oral health of his patients. He has brought modern treatment techniques to his office through anesthesia; bone grafting and ridge augmentation, sinus augmentation, implant placement and digital dentistry to improve the treatment available at Atlanta Dentures.

In Dr. Van Galders free time he enjoys hunting, playing guitar, being physically active and spending time traveling with his wife, Brittany. They live in Marietta where they are members of North Metro Church.

It is the Denture Patient. Even denture patients should be seen as often. Services performed are to screen for cancer or other oral diseases, to clean your denture and gums. Check the fit to see if due for a re-line or new denture.

Atlanta Dentures performs a vast array of tooth extraction procedures, including wisdom tooth removal. Wisdom teeth usually erupt during the late-teen or early-adult years, long after the rear molars form. As a result, theres no room for the teeth. We also perform extractions of permanently decayed or damaged teeth. If thats the case, we offer several replacement options, including dental implants and dentures.

Teeth serve several critical functions. First, they help hold your jawline in place and give your mouth the biting force it needs to consume various hard foods. Missing teeth can cause problems with shifting jawlines and reduce the foods you can eat. Theyre also embarrassing to many of our patients. Dental implants and dentures resolve both the functional and aesthetic concerns associated with tooth loss.

Yes. While dentures are built from sturdy materials, they can degrade over time or break. Atlanta Dentures can both repair or replace your dentures, depending on which option makes the most sense. Atlanta Dentures, however, only repairs dentures that we make in our facility. The extent of the damage is the primary determining factor. Single-tooth chips or scratches can be repaired. However, if the damage is on several teeth, its more realistic to replace your dentures entirely. Well help you make your decision.

Cosmetic dentistry is a broad category that refers to dental treatments that primarily address aesthetic concerns. Usually, we rectify things like stained, chipped, cracked, and missing teeth through an array of treatments. For instance, we offer crowns and bridges, in addition to dental implants and dentures. Cosmetic dentistry is a great way to improve your smile, especially if you remain committed to sound dental health.

Emergencies happen. Whether you lost a tooth during a pickup basketball game or a bike ride, your pain is real. Time is also of the essence. Contact us immediately, if youve lost a tooth or suspect an abscessed tooth. One important thing to note: If your tooth was dislodged or knocked out, do not touch the portion of the tooth below the gums. Place it in a protective container and cover it with your saliva. A cup or baggie will also work. You can also place it in a cup of milk. Keeping it moist makes it easier to put it back.

My experience at Atlanta Dentures has been an unpleasant one. And unfortunately, it's not over yet. I started a consultation in mid-March of 2022. They had planned my upper teeth surgery for new dentures in early April. But then they said my temporary dentures were not yet ready, so I didn't have my surgery until June 1. The dentist stated the reason for the long delay was the lab work in building the new dentures. After that, Atlanta Dentures started crown work on my lower teeth. I would be getting 8 new crowns. It took weeks before the crowns were completed by the lab. When I went in to get the crown installed, the dentist stated that the lab had made a mistake on the crown work. The lab had designed the crowns similar to a denture where all 8 crowns were connected together in 1 continuous piece. But I had requested 8 separate crowns for 8 teeth. Now the new crowns are being ordered again from the lab. It will take approximately 10 more days before they are ready. It's hard to know where the source of these problems lays. Is it the dentist office or the lab that they use? But whichever it is, it has been, and still is an unpleasant experience for me.

Wonderful people! Jason is super nice and very informative. Excellent experience and I'm going back next week to start the process. Highly recommend!! UPDATE: I had my top dentures put in today and I feel like I have my life back. They fit beautifully! Earlier this year I had a horrible experience at a different dental practice and had teeth missing for months. I was so sad and embarrassed...until today!! I'm so happy I found Atlanta Dentures. You all are the absolute BEST!!

Squeezed me in for an emergency appointment 20 min after my call. No fuss, no muss, x-rayed and extracted in under 90 min. Dr was excellent and the office staff amazing!

Exceeded my expectations. It was my first time getting any sort of teeth extraction. I was pleasantly surprised at how great and painless the procedure went for my top wisdom teeth removal. Great staff, great dentist and unbeatable price for the service. I can't thank them enough for the experience. 10 stars if I could.

My experience was awful. Please go elsewhere for your dental and denture needs. Their techs lack both the empathy and compassion to work with any patient, let alone an elderly patient. They'll probably leave their standard insincere response to this review which is just an insult to injury. There are so many great options in the area these days for dentures that patients will be happier spending their money elsewhere.

Many thanks to Dr Van Galder and the entire staff for their professional and personal approach to making me feel much better about going to the dentist. So glad they were referred to me for the extractions. A reason to not fear going to the dentist!

Well, I spent the first 30 years of my life in a Dental Chair... Between being the youngest of 8 Boys, I was prone to getting hurt...I played sports including football, baseball, Martial arts and riding motorcycles... Now, that I am 60 years old and a Grandfather to 5 Grandsons, I needed to have some older work restored... My first three visits were for consultation, impressions, then extractions and a partial made for the teeth that were removed...I had No Bleeding, No Swelling or No Pain ... Atlanta Dentures is in a class of their own ... Really Thorough with a 24 hour text support...I am % Satisfied with the Staff, Service and the End Results... Thanks for restoring My Faith in Dentistry and Making Me Smile again... Shout-out to Mel, Tommy and Ragan... You All Rock!!!

The whole office is very nice and extremely professional which is hard to come by now a days. I went in for an xray and was expecting the appointment for an extraction 2 months out (like most places at this point). Well Dr Van Galder actually pulled my tooth about 30 minutes after the xray. He talked me through the whole process (which was comforting eventhough I've had teeth pulled before) If I need any other teeth pulled I will definitely go back. I hope I don't need to.. but if I do I know who to go to. Thank you again.

I had saved money for several years. I thought I had chosen wisely. Worst mistake I could have made. I chose the most expensive so they would look good. The dentures NEVER worked. From the altered change around my face (I immediately had deep lines around my lips. I look much older, they tried something above my lip that didn't work and a basic fit that never happened. The before and after pictures really show the difference. It's embarrassing. My family has asked me what happened. It's mortifying really) but a basic fit it my mouth never happened. Different family members would come in to explain in a condescending manner how my expectations were too high. I was told and had planned to get the implants on the bottom. But The top NEVER had suction!!! Not ever. I wore dentures for several years prior these that worked. I know it can be done. But not by these guys who even made me pay for a recline. The whole thing became ridiculous. The office chairs are ripped. Not a class operation as the reviews would have you believe. I'm now out over $5000. The emotional toll and challenges in intimate relationships are worth more than anything when it comes to teeth. It is the challenge of my life. I explained this in detail at my first appointment. They seem ill equipped to understand such things. This experience has had a huge impact on my emotional and physical health. I am saddened above all with my experience with Atlanta dentures

The dentist is absolutely the best! The staff on the other hand could use some customer service skills. Had an issue over a payment and felt very disrespected and embarrassed as there were other patients. Almost a year ago when I first came I would of highly recommend this place but not now. After my last appointment in June I'll be finding another dentist .
