Dr. Mark S. Medel has become quite accomplished in the profession of oral maxillofacial surgery delivering superior care to patients with a multitude of diverse surgical problems over the last 30 years. He graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology. He completed a 1-year internship at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, Michigan, in Medical Technology and became board-certified through the American College of Clinical Pathologists. He next attended the University of Detroit School of Dentistry and obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1983. Following graduation, he attended the University of Connecticut in Farmington, Connecticut, where he completed a 3-year residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery. In 1986, he became board-certified through the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as completing his Michigan Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery the same year. From 1986-2000, he practiced oral and maxillofacial surgery in Clinton Township, Michigan, and concomitantly since 1988 has practiced full-time in Owosso, Michigan. Recently, Dr. Mark Medel has partnered with his son Dr. Nicholas Medel to proudly serve Henderson, Anderson and Navarro county.
Dr. Mark Medel has devoted his professional career to all aspects of dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery. He has served as President of the Genessee District Dental Society. He served recently as a board member for the Genessee District Dental Society, and also served on the MDA Committee on Peer Review/Dental Care.

My surgeon was scanning me up and down and kept looking at my chest while talking the whole time.He then complimented me on how he liked my shirt;and asked the female assistant to leave the room.She stuttered and asked why?He said thanks I got it and shut the .He asked would I want to be awake or asleep to have him pull out my wisdom tooth.I SAID AWAKE.He said it's better asleep.I SAID NO PLZ I WANT TO BE AWAKE.Also said I'm going to put you to sleep and take some pictures of my teeth,but the assistant already took X-ray I said.He then said im going to take them again.He said I'm going to put you to sleep!I said ok then I want my sister in here with me and he said no.So he told me I needed to pay before we started and I didn't have the money so I walked out.

Dr. Medel has wonderful bedside manner. I appreciate him taking the time to answer my questions and concerns. I had a wonderful experience. The front desk staff was awesome too!

They scheduled my daughter at 8:00 in the morning so we were here at 7:45. We were the first ones here and because we are medicaid and they messed up and over booked appointments they lied to my face and said we wasn't scheduled until 9:00. She began Lying to me about needing an approval from Medicaid when that is done a week prior to even be scheduled. I know how it works because I was a dental assistant for three years. Instead of just being honest and owning up to the mistake and giving customer service we was treated as if we didn't matter and our time isn't valuable. Horrible customer service!

I was sent here for my wisdom tooth removal on March 31st. I was extremely nervous and they were all very nice, comforting and understanding. The dr was extremely nice, made me laugh several times during my visit which helped ease my nerves alot. I would recommend them to everyone!

Dr. Medel has the best bed side manor of any Dentist or Oral Surgeon that has done work on my mouth. After going for a biopsy on a small white spot on side of my tongue which turned out to be from a sharp tooth rubbing it. i talked my Father into changing his Oral Surgeon he was not happy with and hiring Dr Medel, my Father liked him very much and my Son is a patient of the clinic as of a Month ago. I've had high anxiety when it comes to any dental work and must take the gas to keep from having a total anxious meltdown. After 4 appointments of my own and taking my Son and Father we have never had a long wait time and are always seen relatively close to our scheduled appointment times. God Bless Dr Medel and his kind staff for all they do for the community.

I am very pleased with my experience at Dr. Medel's. He was real, honest, and lightning fast getting my tooth out. He and his staff have really impressed me. I have a 90 minute drive to Athens. Well worth the drive. I recommend this doctor and his staff to everyone. Oh, and by the way, painless. Thank you Dr. Medel.

I am a person that has to be sedated so I went to have 2 teeth extracted and it was a great experience. Dr. Medel was awesome. He had great bedside manners. Very kind and eased my fears. I would definitely recommend him! His staff is kind and respectful also. It was so easy I wish I had found him sooner.

I was a patient referral from my dentist to Dr Medel's office for a tooth extraction. I had the extraction and implant done in a single procedure with zero pain afterwards. The whole experience has lessened my anxiety for visits to the dental office. Friendly and professional staff.

I was scared and uncomfortable when I had to get my wisdom teeth pulled. They made sure I was comfotable. My surgery went well and the staff were extemely nice and good at what they do. You won't find this kind of service anywhere else. Dr.Medel is an amazing surgeon and took good care of my mouth. Would definitely recommend to anyone with oral probalems.
