Dr. Asuncion has been practicing general dentistry for over 20 years and started his own practice in Frederick 18 years ago. His easy smile and gentle manner give his patients that perfect combination of quiet confidence and relaxation, knowing they are in good hands. He brings a conservative and caring approach to the practice.
Very well known in the community, he is recent past President of the Frederick County Dental Society, where he chaired its Peer Review Committee. In addition to caring for his own patients, he also volunteers for the Mission of Mercy, a mobile health service based in Frederick, and works with Donated Dental Services for the disabled in Maryland.
Dr. Asuncion is a Graduate of the University of Maryland Dental School where he also held the position of Chief Resident in the advanced general dentistry residency program. He received his Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology from the University of Maryland Medical School.
In 2005, he merged his practice with Dr. Robert Broadrup, who retired after practicing dentistry in Frederick for over 30 years. Dr. Broadrups service to the community is legendary, and Dr. Asuncion is deeply honored to be entrusted with the continuing care of Dr. Broadrups patients.
Dr. Asuncion is a member of the American Dental Associationand the Maryland State Dental Association. Originally from the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC, Dr. Asuncion now lives in the Frederick area.
Dr. Bhatia has been trained at leading centers in the world, including USA, England, and India. He completed his Residency training and Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from The Brooklyn Hospital Center and associated Cornell School of Medical Sciences, New York. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Loma Linda University, California.
He is a Member American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Academy of Osseointegration, International Simplant Academy, and is a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Dr. Talwar specializes in Cosmetic and Reconstructive Dentistry. She is a Diplomate of American Academy of Prosthodontics. Prosthodontics is a Dental specialty that requires 3 years of additional training after one has completed dental training. She specializes in complex cosmetic and reconstructive Dentistry, like full mouth reconstruction with worn dentition, multiple missing teeth, or cosmetic designing for existing teeth. She brings many years of experience in Cosmetic and Reconstructive Dentistry especially in full mouth complex reconstruction and implant reconstruction with an emphasis on cosmetics and function.
She has been trained at leading centers in the world, including the USA, England, and India. She completed her Prosthodontic Residency certification and Masters in Science from the University of Maryland. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Loma Linda University Dental School, California.
Jamilyn has been a team member of Asuncion Dental Group since 2011. She serves as the office manager of the practice. Her role involves greeting patients, caring for patients treatment scheduling, financial matters, and phone queries. She is passionate about learning about each patient making sure they have an excellent experience on each office visit. Jamilyn is a graduate of Shepherd University with a B.A. in Health and Human Service. She is a native of Leesburg, VA, but she has made West Virginia her home for the last 17 years. She and her husband enjoy watching and cheering on their 3 children in their respective sports.
April serves as the administrative assistant of the practice. Her role includes confirming patients and keeping the schedule full and keeping an inventory of supplies. She has been in the dental field for over 30 years and is qualified as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant. She also holds an associate degree from Hagerstown Community College. She was born and raised in Hagerstown, Maryland. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family, son, and Pomeranian named Winston.
Amy is a Registered Dental Hygienist and obtained her training from Hagerstown Community College. She serves as a hygienist in the practice and as such she spearheads hygiene education and getting patients back to optimal periodontal health. She credits her desire to pursue a career in dental hygiene to her childhood experience of spending quite a bit of time in the dental chair. This has helped her understand the importance of being empathetic to her patients needs. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and their favorite place to go is the beach. She loves animals and in her spare time hikes and draws.
Tessa is a Registered Dental Hygienist and obtained her training from Allegany College. She serves as a hygienist in the practice and as such she spearheads hygiene education and getting patients back to optimal periodontal health. She enjoys spending time with her husband, their newborn daughter, and two dogs. Their favorite place to vacation is South Carolina.
Ashley is an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant and obtained her training at Frederick Community college. Her main duties involve assisting Dr. Asuncion with dental procedures. Prior to working in the dental field, she was a CNA for 4 years but decided upon a dental assisting career so she could expand her desire to engage and care for her patients. Ashley likes to go on hikes in her free time and spending time with her son.
