Astoria Dental Broadway - General dentist in Astoria, NY

Dr. Jeanne Helbig is a general and cosmetic dentist based in Astoria, NY. She received her dental degree from Temple University. She then went on to complete a two year residency in general and prosthetic dentistry at New York Presbyterian Queens. Dr. Helbig provides a wide range of treatment individualized to each patients needs, including crowns, veneers, implants, fillings, root canals, and preventative treatment.

At Astoria Dental Broadway, we provide clear braces throughout the Astoria area. Straight teeth are important for your overall oral health. When teeth are crooked, they can become stained and infected more easily. By straightening teeth, we can improve your appearance and decrease the risk of getting cavities at the same time. We can also address issues that you may have with your jaw by aligning your bite. Clear braces are truly a comprehensive way and discreet way to address oral health concerns.

We understand that while many people want to have straighter teeth, many teens and adults are uncomfortable with the traditional metal braces on their teeth for more than one year. While they are not as discreet as people wish, metal braces are an effective tool for straightening teeth. The procedure works by placing a metal bracket onto the surface of each tooth and running a wire through those brackets. It is impossible not to notice when someone is wearing traditional metal braces. While the treatment works, it can also negatively impact a persons' appearance while doing so. This has led many people to seek out a better option, one that we provide.

At Astoria Dental Broadway, we offer clear alternatives for adults and teens the greater Astoria area. We can straighten teeth and move them into the perfect position so the patient has a beautiful and radiant straight smile. If you have crooked teeth, unsightly gaps between your teeth or a misaligned bite, then we can help to correct these issues and more. Clear braces work just as effectively as metal braces but with some major improvements. Clear braces are much more difficult to notice, making them ideal for busy professionals, teens and those that do not want to negatively impact their current appearance during the process.

There are several types of clear and barely visible options to choose. One operates similarly to traditional metal braces where we place a bracket onto each tooth and thread a wire between the brackets. The difference is that instead of being made out of metal, the brackets for clear braces consists of a tooth-colored resin that blends in with the natural tooth. The wire is also tooth-colored so that the braces themselves are almost invisible and difficult to see. We find that this solution works well for teens and adults that are able to practice proper dental hygiene with the clear braces. Otherwise, food can stain the brackets. This solution is an excellent alternative to traditional braces and is just as effective at addressing all oral health concerns.

Clear braces also come in the form of aligners. Clear aligners look like a full retainer that surrounds the teeth and are worn on the upper and lower teeth. Aligners are more convenient to wear than metal braces since patients can remove them when necessary. One of the major concerns that people have with wearing braces is that they do not come off until the treatment is complete. If, for example, you get braces then decide to get married, you will either have braces in your wedding pictures or need to pay to remove them and reinstall them after. Simultaneously, if you have a big presentation at work and want to impress a client, your braces cannot come off for the meeting. This leaves many adults apprehensive about committing to a two-year treatment plan. We understand that appearance is important for more than vanity. It impacts your ability to create a professional image and retain your own self-image. As a Astoria provider of clear braces and aligners, we make it so that you do not have to compromise your appearance or lifestyle while straightening teeth; aligners are a key component of that.

We treat both teens and adults and understand that both can benefit from similar treatment options. While children may not be able to wear clear braces, teens can wear clear braces if they take proper care of them. The main difference between clear braces for teens and adult braces, is that teens may need to use their aligners for a longer period of time. With such a busy schedule, we expect teens to remove their aligners more frequently to do things like play sports.

Whether you are an adult or a teenager, a clear aligner might be just the thing if you and your dentist decide that you only need a minimal alignment or straightening of your teeth. Clear aligners are designed especially for minimal alignment issues and can help give you back your confidence and beautiful smile.Clear aligners

Are you wondering if invisible braces are the right choice for you? No matter your age, if you want to have straight teeth that make for a pleasant smile, then looking into which option will work best for you and your particular situation is a great idea. If your teeth are minimally crooked and you

Those who are looking for a way to straighten teeth may consider Invisalign. It is a great option for people, particularly adults who want to fix their smile subtly. Because the aligners are clear and removable, the treatment is more discreet than traditional braces. When using Invisalign to straighten teeth, it may take a little

People who get veneers generally do not need any time to recover, because numbing agents are not typically required. These tooth-colored shells will look and feel just like natural tooth enamel. However, they still need to be properly cared for to allow them to last as long as possible. Take a look at these tips

This dental office is a total scam. I was never provided with my retainer trays that they billed my insurance company for. The dentist does not even have his license and was jailed for insurance fraud. Do your due diligence before visiting this 'dentist'.

Crooks. I scheduled an appointment for an emergency and they couldn't fit me in til a week later which i accepted in case i couldnt find anywhere sooner. I was able to obviously find someone else before and called to cancel my appointment and was greeted by someone who hung up on me when i told them. A month later im receiving an invoice for breaking my appointment. Avoid at all costs

I couldn't have been more at ease when visiting this office for my first time. Brand new modern equipment and very helpful stuff. The dentist took the time to show and educate me on my issue and it was a breath of fresh air. Looking forward to returning.

Had a great experience again. I had a short wait like my first time and a great interaction with the dentist. Appreciate our time spent together and looking forward to my next appointment in 6 months. Feel comfortable coming here.

Happy to be a new patient to this office located right in Astoria. Dr Helbig really cared about my comfort and health. I wanted to wait until my second visit for my filling to leave this review just to make sure everything went well. And I'm glad it did. It was very painless and the visit was very pleasant. Thank you.

TL;DR: DON'T COME HERE. Terrible front desk service. I made sure during my new-patient appointment to ask if the x-rays would be covered fully by insurance (as they could have just called my previous to acquire the images), was told by the receptionist lady that they would be. Tell me, why I am getting a bill from my insurance for x-rays? So when I call, the same lady said that the x-ray tech took more x-rays than needed? How would I know to stop the x-ray tech to avoid the charges? Absolutely ridiculous. And she is super rude and just straight-up incompetent. The young dentist is fine - she doesn't force you into awkward conversations and is quick about the cleaning/examination. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE.

I had a broken tooth while in NY so I did a Google search to find a dentist. Astoria Dental Broadway was like winning the lottery! I was seen within an hour and the staff were friendly, professional, and pleasant. I was treated by a kind, patient, and thorough dentist. It was an amazing experience, especially since I was in such severe pain. I'd easily recommend this office to anyone.

(Translated by Google) TERRIBLE customer service!!!! Absolutely I will not return even if the work is free, the "dr." Totally, very unprofessional. Yelling at me as if I were a girl, imposing myself on what I desire as a client. The way she handled her work team seemed like she didn't know what she was doing. I had to literally walk out of that place without the job done. With water on my face for him Carelessness and mishandling of instruments, did not want to finish the job! And then they keep calling for you to come back... very annoying !!! Fortunately, there was a dentist nearby who had room to see me as an emergency and took care of me. I returned for my x-rays to this place to be seen at the other dentist and in revenge they charged me for giving me the documentation that they did not want to give me even paying. In addition, nobody manages the correct prices in the place and they always want to charge you for what is not in your insurance. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT FOR ANYTHING. They make claims to your insurance for things that you do not approve of and they do not even tell you, they only charge extra things. In front of this place there is another dentist, better go there at once. Don't lose your peace by visiting this place.

They charge your insurance company for appointments you never went to. I'm talking full X-rays, medications, procedures. This is a fraudulent practice by ALL means.

The doctor was very careless and spilled water all over my face. They also charged me for a recent scheduled appointment that I already canceled, I never went there but I receive claims from my insurance.
