Dr. Oscar Lopez is a dental artist who is dedicated to the enhancement of the health, beauty, and function of his patients' smiles. His unique expertise combines the science of dentistry with his artistic ability to create natural smiles that have helped patients from all regions of the country look and feel better.
Dr. Oscar Lopez was raised in Cliffside Park, New Jersey, where from a young age he knew that he wanted to follow in his fathers ' foot steps and become a dentist. Dr. Lopez would spend his summers working in a dental lab and assisting his father at his dental practice, and in the eighth grade he created his first denture for a science project. Dr. Oscar Lopez attended Upsala College and graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science. He continued his education and pursuit of dentistry at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
During his studies, he received the highest honors award of Clinical Restorative Dentistry in his class. In 1989, he graduated as a Doctor of Medicine Dentistry. His father had since retired from dentistry and upon graduation he took over his father's family practice, Astoria Dental in Astoria, New York. In 1993, due to demand for his services, Dr. Lopez opened a second practice, Grand Dental, in Englewood, New Jersey.
In 2000, Dr. Oscar Lopez decided to relocate to South Florida and bring 'Astoria Dental to the beach.' His Astoria Dental at the Beach practice now provides the same warm, welcoming environment of his New York practice. He serves patients from all over and he is also well known in the acting and modeling community in New York and South Florida as he provided many actors and models with their perfect smiles. Dr. Lopez is dedicated to staying on the 'cutting edge' of dentistry to provide his patients with the best and most advanced treatments.
Since Dr. Oscar Lopez's formal education, he has also completed hundreds of continued education courses in all aspects of dentistry with an emphasis on cosmetic and implant dentistry. He is also the Founding member of the Bergen County Dental Implant Club, and is currently a fellow and soon to be diplomat of the ICOI, Internal Congress of Oral implantalogy.

I came to this dentist for a root canal and crown. The procedure was extremely painful and cost about 1,800$. When it came time to actually put my permanent crown on the dentist was nowhere to be found. The dental assistant seemed too scared to go find the dentist so she just decided to put the crown on herself. The crown did not fit but she shoved it in anyway. Two months later I still can't chew on the side of the root canal and crown and am still in pain. I got X-rays done on my own to see what was going on. The X-rays show that the root canal way done completely incorrectly. The cement used to glue the crown on is being pushed into my bone and gums. The whole procedure needs to be redone so I basically threw 1,800$ down the drain. I called the office to ask for a refund and was told to come in. I waited over an hour to meet with the dentist. They refused to give me a refund and wanted to try and fix it. How can I trust them to fix it when they caused such a horrible problem in the first place? This office is below the basic standard of care.

This dental office is extremely unprofessional. While the staff at the front were helpful and friendly, the main concern is the actual dental care you receive and mine was terrible. I had one cavity that needed fixing. I sat in the chair waiting for 40 minutes and finally the dentist came with no mask, music blasting in the entire office, and proceeded to very obviously rush through the fix. He seemed very impatient, did not update me on what he was doing, did not apply topical before the lidocaine--just terrible. It was uncomfortable and painful in a way my other fillings never were before. This was a new dentist for me so I had an open mind but I proceeded to have pain in the tooth for the following 2 weeks. I decided to go to a different dentist who took a new X-ray and showed me that while doing the filling he nicked the tooth beside it (and also said the filling was done very badly). I now need the filling re-done and a second filling in the tooth beside it that this dentist nicked while rushing through. I never leave reviews but seriously do your research before going to a new dentist this guy was the worst.

I'm an exhibitor at the Miami boat show, popped a crown 1st day. Selected Astoria Dental thru Delta Dental Ins. What a find!!! Got me in last minute with their extended hours. Amazing kind staff, rock-n-rolled me right on thru. Literally, great play list! Dr. Lopez is the Best!!!

Yep. This guy is very bad. Slapped a filling onto a tooth in under 5 min. No face mask worn the entire procedure while elbow deep in my mouth. I had no pain going in to see him. Boy did it begin to hurt the next day when the anesthesia wore out. Waited for a week, pain didn't go away. Went to another dentist who found a void right under the filling that this guy just popped on top of the tooth. She fixed it. This guy's team will charge your card before they do anything to you. I was swiping the credit card with my mouth open in his chair to put that filling in where it wasn't even needed in the first place. I wanted to leave but didn't listen to that quiet voice of intuition in your head. And as some icing on the cake, a week later I still have a pending transition on my card for 200$ in addition to what I actually paid. They said on the phone - just wait, it'll clear. Lol. Good luck to everyone who enters that place! They are going to need it

Dr Lopez is the best dentist I ever had. I moved to another city and I sorely miss how knowledgeable and professional he is. He knows how to do everything and when he fixes something it stays fixed. He has years of experience and mastery. I was never over charged.

Normally I feel as if the dentist is trying to gain more money, but she took the time to break down why its in my best interest to do the things she suggested so I could better understand. I'll be back to see Leyla in 6 months.

Normally I feel as if the dentist is trying to gain more money, but she took the time to break down why its in my best interest to do the things she suggested so I could better understand. I would not recommend this dentist. He has a bizarre pricing schedule, and delayed a cleaning for 3 weeks which was already a month wait. I decided to go to another dentist which took me immediately and cost less.
