As a cosmetic dentist with more than twenty-nine years of experience, Dr. Michael Hutchison quickly reached the pinnacle of his career by becoming an accredited member of the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) in April 2001, as one of only 250 members worldwide.
Dr. Hutchison practices dentistry based on one primary goal: to provide excellence in dental services and overall care to his patients. Dr. Hutchison graduated from Loyola Universitys Dental School where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1987. Upon completion of dental school he practiced in LaGrange, Illinois for 10 years.
Moving to the Traverse City area with his family in 1997, he quickly established a thriving dental practice that has progressed into one of the areas most quality-driven practices for both general and cosmetic dentistry in the Northern Michigan region and beyond. Outside of serving as one of the top family and cosmetic dentists in Traverse City, Dr. Hutchison enjoys spending time with his family, boating, playing golf and using computers. His dental interests focus on cosmetic dentistry, implants, pain management (TMJ), and sleep disorders.
Dr. Hayley Popp grew up in Harrison Township, MI and began her education at Michigan State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Package Engineering with a specialization in Health Promotions in 2014. She worked as a Packaging Engineer at Materne North America in Traverse City for two years before deciding to return to school. Dr. Popp received a Master of Science in Basic Medical Sciences from Wayne State University in 2018 before going on to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree at the University of Michigan in 2022. She is passionate about organized dentistry and a proud member of the Michigan Dental Association, Michigan Academy of General Dentistry, and Delta Sigma Delta, just to name a few. Dr. Popp also enjoys volunteering in the community and providing dentistry to underserved populations. In her free time, she enjoys reading while surrounded by her four cats, spending time outdoors with her family, and cheering on the Michigan State Spartans.
I have been working at Associates in Family Dentistry since 1999. I graduated from Central Michigan University in 1997 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. Shortly thereafter I discovered my love for dentistry! I thoroughly enjoy working in this industry and am proud to say I work at Associates in Family Dentistry.
I love warm weather and, with living in Northern Michigan, it is known that summertime is my absolute favorite time of year. I enjoy fishing on many of the beautiful lakes with my husband and children. I also like playing sports and most any game in general.
I am originally from Mid-Michigan, where I graduated from Delta College with a degree in Dental Assisting in 2010. I decided to further my education and received my degree in Dental Hygiene from Mott Community College in 2015 and worked for a private practice in Clarkston. I had been visiting Traverse City every year since I was an infant and dreamed of one day living here. That dream became a reality in May 2020 when my family decided to make the move up here. I am proud to work at Associates in Family Dentistry and look forward to increasing my knowledge; learning each day.
My husband and I have two young children, who take up much of my time, however, in the free time I do have, I enjoy baking, traveling, golfing, being outdoors, and of course spending as much time as I can with my family.
Graduating from Ferris State University in spring 2020 with my degree in Dental Hygiene, I pursued my dental career in the Traverse City area where I was raised. Although I am new to dental hygiene, my enthusiasm and fun-loving attitude is what will keep you coming back! I am proud to be a member of the Associates in Family Dentistry team.
I grew up a native of the area and graduated from Northwestern Michigan College dental assisting program in 2016 with my RDA license. I spent the first few years of my assisting career working in Mid-Michigan. My husband and I welcomed our son in December 2018. We knew we wanted to raise him in Northern Michigan, so we moved back to the area. I joined the team at Associates in Family Dentistry in May 2019. I look forward to furthering my dental career here! I love all things our beautiful state has to offer. In my free time, I like to go hiking with my dogs and enjoy spending family time with my husband and son.

Recently moved to TC from Virginia where had sdd as me dentist for decades. Called Family Dentistry and was pleasantly and professionally scheduled for first visit. Hayley Popp DDS could not have been more accommodating nor more professional. First rate experience. Had second experience today. Ditto previous comments

My husband and I have been patients here at Associates in Family Dentistry for many years. We have always found the hygienists and the dentist to be very professional . They have taken very good care of our teeth and we are very grateful for their knowledge and expertise.

Associates in family dentistry is the place to go!!! The staff is excellent! Dr popp is amazing. She whitened my teeth using a new method and it only took 30 minutes! She is incredible and I will definitely be coming back

First time here and the staff made it so easy. They made sure I was comfortable and any worries were gone by the time I left. I recommend Associates in Family Dentistry for anyone who is nervous or worried about their teeth. These folks are the best!!

This was an emergency visit for my friend - we were on vacation and her temporary crown fell out! Called Associates in Family Dentistry and within a few minutes we got her a same day appointment. Everyone was helpful, professional and kind! My friend was extremely impressed and said if she lived here, this would be her dentist office! Highly recommend!

After moving to Northern Michigan, we found dental offices to be a bit archaic, until we found Associates in Family Dentistry. Dr. Popp is the Bono of the dental world! Cutting edge technology wrapped in the friendly culture we love about Northern Michigan. The team at Associates in Family Dentistry are helpful, competent and caring. Holly made sure I understood the process and Dr. Popp made sure I understood my treatment plan. 5-stars at every level. I can't wait to go back....OK, that is a lie , but I sure wouldn't want to go anywhere else for dental care.

I really can't think of any reason to give Associates in Family Dentistry anything less than five stars. I had made a cleaning appointment and this was my first visit here. I have a pretty good knowledge of how computers have benefited many different fields of work but I didn't have any idea how much the technology has advanced denistry. All of their equipment is state of the art and computerized. Not only was I impressed by the technology being used but also in how highly trained my hygienist had to be to use it. I can highly recommend Associates in Family Dentistry.

The best dentist and staff I've ever worked with - they go way above and beyond. They have taken excellent care of my family - from cleanings, to Invisalign, to tooth extractions. I really like the hygienists. Super friendly and my toddlers asked when can they go to the dentist again to see them. The ladies at the front desk are really nice, easy to schedule appointments with, and great at informing me with reminders for my family's upcoming appointments. The dentist is also extremely knowledgeable and he even does question and answer sessions on the local radio. He has a very friendly and caring personality. My dental health is way better since I found this place, and no longer avoid the dentist! And you can't beat the views overlooking the west bay...
