In the summer of 2013, I celebratedmy 30th year at Associates for Family Dentistry. I grew up as a patient of AFD, and could not be prouder to have practiced my entire career here. I feel honored to have developed many long-term, professional relationships with my patients and staff.

My satisfaction comes from being able to provide high-quality treatment to my patients, and I truly value their trust in me. I realize most patients would rather be elsewhere than the dental office, but I do the best I can to have fun and make my patients as comfortable as possible during all procedures.

Our practice is unique to dentistry because we work in a group environment. With six dentists, seven hygienists, and several specialists, we are able to collaborate and discuss treatments for the success of patient outcomes. This improves the quality of care, and enables me to provide the best treatment at all times. These aspects of our practice, along with my artistic abilities, help achieve the best dental aesthetics, longevity, affordability, and comfort in a caring, professional practice.

Continuing education is very important to me. I attend many dental meetings, conventions, and seminars every year. I enjoy continuously learning new techniques and facets of dentistry. I combine new technologies and techniques with my experience in order to provide the highest quality of care. Iregularly attendthe world-renowned Gordon Christensen CRA seminars, and the annual American Dental Association mid wInter meetings.

I have lived in the Midwest my entire life, most of it in Lake County. I have a wife and two children, and we are very active together. Some of our favorite hobbies are tennis, sailing, skiing, woodworking, and photography. I am quite proud to be an Eagle Scout, as is my son, and am a member of the National Ski Patrol.

What I love most about dentistry arethe relationshipsI have built over the years with my patients. We have shared many happy, and even not-so-happy stories, which happened in our lives. I have seen kids that were in kindergarten grow up and are now graduating from college.

I enjoy practicing all aspects of general dentistry and believe that every patient deserves a beautiful smile and healthy teeth. I understand that each patient has individual needs and desires, and I work hard to accomplish the goal that the patient has entrusted withme.

Communication with my patients is a big priority of mine. I want to make sure that they allunderstand the treatment presented to them and have their questions answered before we begin treatment. One of my goals is to provide pain-free treatment in an enjoyable and relaxed environment where the patients can achieve their goals.

I graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1995 with my Doctorate of Dental Surgery. I worked at a few practices before I joined Associates for Family Dentistry in 1998. I am so happy to have found a place where I can provide quality dentistry to my patients without any compromise. I am lucky to work with a group of dentists who have the same goals and philosophy in treating patients as I do.

Dr. Dennis Dobrin started his dental career in his teenage years as a dental assistant to his father, Dr. William Dobrin. This was when he learned the importance of providing the highest level of care while keeping his patients relaxed and comfortable. He saw the great relationships his father had developed with his patients, and he saw how fulfilling a dental career could be.

Dr. Dobrin received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2001 from the University of Illinois-Chicago, where he was honored with the Senior Student Award for Outstanding Clinical Care, the Academy of General Dentistry Senior Student Award, and the Public Health Award for volunteering his time to public health dentistry.

He also volunteered his time at the Northwestern Universityspediatric clinic for low-income children. He regularly takes many more continuing education classes thanrequired, including classes from some of the most well-known dental educators in the world.

Dr. Dobrin's passion is the advancement of digital dentistry. He feels this haschanged dentistry for the better, and will continue to do so. From taking digital scans for 3D printed models to CAD/CAM (CEREC) dentistry, he has a renewed excitement for the future of dentistry.

Our patients are amazed at the beautiful results that can be achieved in one visit through the use ofthis technology. Dr. Dobrinuses digital scanning to replace conventional impressions, as well as the newest aids for patient comfort.

The technology is not only more efficient and more comfortable for patients, but also improves the quality of dentistry. Dr. Dobrin will be happy to discuss any options to ensure his patients are relaxed and pain-free during these procedures.
