I had recently moved over 200 miles up here to the wisconsin rapids area, and shortly after the move I cracked a molar clean in half and began experiencing excruciating pain from the exposed nerve. Riverview Dental was just 1 of the 10+ dental offices I visited trying to seek treatment for my broken tooth, however I was originally told I would have to wait to be seen as there was a waiting list for adults and it went out 9 months. I put my name on the list like I did with every other dental office i visited. A few weeks later I was on the phone with Hillary their receptionist scheduling an appointment for my daughter when she shocked the hell out of me by remembering me and the pain I was in when i stopped in weeks before. She asked how the pain was and when I told her how bad it had gotten she immediately put me on hold and spoke to the dentist Dr. Randall Wood. When she returned to the line I was amazed to hear her say they could get me in later that same day!! Unfortunately I couldn't make it as I had prior obligations with my daughter's school, but incredibly, when i told her that she told me they would find a way to squeeze me in the following morning!!! I couldnt believe they were so willing to help me, as every dentist I had been to begging for an emergency extraction basically all told me they were too busy and none really seemed the least bit interested in actually HELPING me. FINALLY there was somebody willing to do whatever needed to be done to get me in and get the help I desperately needed. The next morning when I showed up the dentist immediately went to work looking at the problem but he could only prescribe antibiotics and wait til the infection cleared. Which after a week it did and again Hillary called and squeezed me in the following morning. Dr. Wood numbed my mouth and started trying to extract the tooth, however after 30 minutes he determined it needed to be surgically removed. 5 more shots to get the stubborn nerves completely numbed up and again he started in on my tooth, sawing and drilling it into small enough pieces and then busting them out. Dr. Wood spent another hours surgically removing my tooth!! He had every justification to refer me to an oral surgeon, but knowing the pain I was in he didnt want to make me wait any longer and did the surgical extraction himself!! A couple days later i noticed a large chunk of tooth protruding from the extraction site. That same day I was at Wal-Mart and ran into Dr. Wood there, where he noticed me from quite a distance and came over to ask me how I was feeling and if the pain was better etc etc. When I told him of the large chunk of tooth left behind he told me to just come in the next day and he would take care of it. No appointment, no waiting, no phone call. I just showed up like he said and to my amazement AGAIN Dr. Wood numbed me up and spent another 30 minutes removing that last stubborn piece of root. Dr. Wood and the entire staff at Riverview Dental are some of the greatest and kindest people ive ever met, and I am so thankful for every extra step they took when it came to helping me with all the pain and tooth issues I was experiencing.
