Our talented dentists, Dr. Dorny and Dr. Richins, will listen carefully to your individual concerns and desires to ensure that they help you maintain a beautiful, healthy smile. We welcome patients of all ages, and our staff focuses on helping young patients feel comfortable when visiting the dentist for the first time. For families, we have a childrens play room near our treatment rooms so that children can be close to their parents during treatment. When children are being treated we have a relaxing parents room with massage chair and cold beverages.
Dr. Richins and his wife have been married for 15 years and they have four children. He loves spending as much time with his family as possible. He also enjoys camping, hiking, snowboarding, mountain biking, or anything else that involves the outdoors. He is very personable and loves interacting with patients. We are sure that you will enjoy his kind demeanor, his ability to communicate with patients, and his skilled and gentle practice of dentistry.
After earning his bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Utah in 2008, Dr. Richins received his doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2012. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Utah Dental Association, and the Academy of LDS Dentists.
Dr. Richins is passionate about continuing education and staying up to date with the most recent developments in dentistry. He took advanced courses in Endodontics, Oral Diagnosis and Treatment Planning, Anesthesiology, and Implantology at the University of Pittsburgh. He received multiple scholarships while in Dental School and was at the top of his class.
He continues to pursue his education and frequently attends advanced courses that cover topics such as Endodontics, Implantology, Cosmetic Dentistry, Oral Pathology, TMJ, Sleep Apnea, and much more. He has also done humanitarian dentistry in underserved areas of Jamaica, Vanuatu, and Appalachia.
In addition to practicing dentistry, Dr. Richins spends one day a week working as a Clinical Advisor for Ultradent Products. Ultradent has been developing and manufacturing the highest quality dental products for over 40 years. Dr. Richinss role at Ultradent allows him to be involved in testing and developing the latest dental products.

I've always really loved going to Aspen Heights Dental, and have come away feeling well taken care of. However, this last visit want that way. I felt rushed. The dental tech wasn't finished when one of the dentists (not my usual Dr) came in and did a very quick look inside my mouth and said everything looked fine, and left. The tech finished with scraping around the gumline and I was looking forward to having my teeth Polished, but she only flossed, asked if I wanted the fluoride treatment to which I said yes and thought I would get that after she brushed, but she applied the fluoride and said I was done. I was really surprised because the best part of your 6-month check is leaving with that clean fresh mouth...I didn't feel like I got that. I've never left without having my teeth polished and was quite disappointed. I know it was close to 2:00pm on a Friday and everyone was anxious to leave, but I didn't have the best experience this time.

I have going to Aspen dental now for I think a full year. Maybe a little longer. Every visit is pleasant and welcoming. I'm pretty much seen on time every time. But where I think this office stands out among the rest is how much they communicate. From front desk to dentist they make sure you're aware. They send me text reminders They mention the xray machine will make a whirling noise. That I'll experience a little bit of pressure. That they're going to lean my chair back. It sounds small but it's really a big deal for me. It helps me know and understand what's happening and it reduces my stress.

I'm always well cared for by kind assistants and dentists here! I see Andrea a lot and we always catch up on what our family and kids have been up to. She's genuinely my friend and is always gentle yet thorough when cleaning my teeth. I always leave with a million dollar smile! They ask once about fluoride and don't push any services that don't apply to your visit. Happy customer!

I love Aspen Heights Dental!! As a hygienist who has worked here the past year or so, I can say the doctors genuinely care for both patients and staff, and have the highest level of care and respect. I chose to work here at Aspen Height Dental specifically because I was looking for the cream of the crop workplace. I came to fill in for Andrea and Mandy while they were gone on maternity leave and.. well.. I never left. The office is amazing! We genuinely enjoy coming to work, and we enjoy who we work together with. Honesty, patience, integrity, enjoying life, respect, empathy, positivity and having fun are some of the key words I'd use to describe the office as a whole. You can tell when someone enjoys what they do- you can just feel that good energy. Emilia cleaned my teeth and was so detail-oriented. My teeth felt great during and after the cleaning. Gum disease runs in my family and even though I brush and floss daily at home, I still rely on my perio maintenance cleanings to keep my gums stable and under control. Front desk are SO friendly and sweet and happy and willing to help. Assistants are such hard workers with great attitudes. The hygienists are all fab and highly skilled- you're in good hands with any one of them! And the doctors are wonderful. They don't recommend treatment unless they truly feel it is necessary and beneficial for the patient. They check in with the patient and listen to what their goals are. And they are skilled at what they do! Bedside manner is fab. And they are funny. Also, there is cool music. There are many great dentists and dental offices out there. If this seems to be a good fit for you, it's definitely worth a "shot." (...every pun intended. )

We've been seen by both Dr. Dorny and Dr. Gifford on multiple occasions. Both are very thorough, friendly, professional and skilled. We originally saw them to receive a 2nd opinion on treatment for my daughter, in which their plan was less aggressive which meant my daughter didn't need as much work done as a treatment plan from another dentist office. They were extremely patient and kind to my daughter through this process! The whole staff is so sweet and the hygienists are wonderful. Would definitely recommend!

My favorite dentist office ever! I just recently switched over here and they are the best. Both appointments I have been to, I have barley had to wait before they took me back. They are so quick, efficient, and friendly! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a new dentist.
