The past few years I have suffered through painful cleanings and a few fillings. Majority of staff are rude and incompetent. The last two appointments were so awful I left crying and angry.

They mislead me into thinking my son was having a cleaning instead it was a consultation... In all my years i've never done a consultation before a CLEANING. The Dentist was throwing gloves at the workers horrible experience will not return ever!

I had a great experience at this Aspen Dental office in Portage, MI. The front desk representative was very kind and answered all my questions and checked me in quickly on my first visit. The technician that did all my X-rays, 3D imaging was very kind and was informative before each process that was about to be done. The Dentist and the technician were both great while I was getting my teeth checked and very easy to talk with and I learned about something new that is mainly only in Michigan and I just moved here last October. I find that when a technician, a Dentist or a Doctor are easy to talk with, informative, knowledgeable and we can have conversations about things other than the visit, that makes me feel more comfortable with them. I wish I remembered their names but they are the reason I'll be coming back to this Dental Office. So I suggest if you want to have a great dental team working on your dental care visit Aspen Dental in Portage, MI. I also just want to thank everyone who had seen me this morning for giving me a wonderful experience.

Yesterday I was considered a new patient since I hadn't been there in 7 years. I was told to be early to fill out new patient forms. I was 15 minutes early and had the paperwork filled out in that amount of time. During my wait in the lobby other patients checked in and were called back that had same appointment time as I. Once it was 45 minutes of waiting and not any acknowledgement of me sitting alone for the last half an hour while I waited in lobby. My being there wasn't important to the dentist. I realized that I would probably be waiting longer once they called me. If they did. I was scheduled for a teeth cleaning but I will be going somewhere else. I walked out and was super disappointed but figured I was making the right choice. Don't accept new patients if there isn't time for them.

Employees at this location need some customer service training. Walked in with a smile on my face and got a whole lot of attitude back. And i was not the only customer in there with this experience the other day. I witness many people who kept there mouth shut when they should have not.

This place is horrid!!! The staff at the Westnedge location are really rude and mean. The care was horrible. I had a tooth extraction and they tore my jaw up to where it looks like they pulled 3 teeth instead of 1. Will never return!

Appointment was a big disappointment. I let the staff know up front that I had not been to the dentist in several years due to COVID-19, so had not had a cleaning, etc. Receptionist was very friendly, but that was the only positive aspect. They took a ton of x-rays and gum charting, but nothing else. No cleaning. Neither dentist nor hygienist asked me what treatments I had undergone in the past for periodontal disease. Came up with expensive treatment plan but hygienist did not discuss this with me (by expensive, I mean $4 k out of my pocket). No questions about treatments I may have had in past. Yes, I have been treated for periodontal disease in past, and my gum charting was actually pretty good compared to past. None of this was discussed with me. Hygienist did not ask about my flossing, use of Water Pik, what toothpaste or oral rinse I was using at home, how often I brush. Nor what treatments I have been through in past for periodontal disease. Nothing. Other dentists and hygienists have asked me these questions in past. As an RN I know that this is a good health history to obtain. She was actually borderline rude and unfriendly. All these questions would have been good places to start. I was quite surprised at how expensive the treatment plan was, and frequently she wanted to see me, because she did not discuss any of this with me. Plus, she wanted me to use an electric toothbrush, which I have tried in past and found ineffective and did not like. I have been through scaling and deep cleaning, oral antibiotics, antibiotics inserted into my gums, prescription toothpaste, Peridex solution, all of which did not work. However, it sounded like the treatment plan, for $4k, included most, if not all, of these. Why pay $4k for treatment that did not work in the first place? Again, she did not ask me any of this. When checking out I was asked about getting financing from outside source, which I refused. A good place to start, on my first appt with office, would have been a cleaning. But no cleaning today. Very disappointed with this office and will not return in future. I would not recommend this office to anyone. I hate to say this, but this comes across as a money-grubbing operation--how much money can we squeeze out of each new patient on the first visit without doing things the rest of us have to do in other health clinics--come up with the most cost effective and simple solutions to see if they work before going on to more expensive and complicated alternatives if the simpler, cheaper interventions do not work first. I plan to call corporate and file a formal complaint as well. This was one of the most unprofessional dental appts I have ever had.

I think the team at Aspen Dental in Battle Creek My. are fantastic. I had an awful experience with Aspen Dental in Kalamazoo Mich. So went to Battle Creek it was the best decision ever. Everyone from the receptionist to the great financial assistant. Was very nice and helpful by the way and had a great smile. The doctor who seen me and his assistant were amazing. I can't say enough how nice and comfortable they made me feel. I would recommend them to anyone you won't be disappointed they are fantastic. Thanks Aspen Dental

Staff friendly! Got me in for cleaning right away! My husband got impressions on the spot for dentures! Cleaning was a bit painful but could be because it had been a year! Overall good experience!

They were very helpful and I feel the whole team there did a great job! I didn't have an appointment but after a couple of hours they worked me in and I had my needed small repair done on one of my teeth, then I was on my way. Very pleased with this location in Portage, Michigan. Thanks
