People please beware and communicate with your insurance company as most ins companies will pay 100% for preventative services like exam and xray. This office charged my husband and I for services that were covered at 100%. The office manager Sarah was very rude and defensive when my ins rep called to see why they were charging me . She did not listen only wanted to make her point; furthermore she is a little rough with her communicating to put it nicely. I can't understand what type of system they have in place that would generate a patient bill for a DMO insurance which they should know is paid at a capitated amount meaning the office gets one lump sum. How many other people have paid when they should not have paid? This needs to be corrected and I will do everything in my power to make sure no one else is scammed liked this. Please people dont just let this or any office tell you you owe a bill check with your insurance company ...they will give you the info you need to be educated. This will be reported to the dental board, attorney general, and the rest.

First visit to this dentist chain. Although office looks decrepit and in need of remodeling the dental service so far has been good. Present treatment not complete, hence final judgment not in. So far, so good.

I am writing this review on the "fly" so there may be misspelled words and other grammatic errors. On September 6, 2022, I arrived 15 minutes early for my 2:45 pm appointment at Aspen Dental in Mentor, Ohio. Upon my arrival, an unknown clerk did not welcome me though this was the first time seen at this location. I was then escorted to the x-ray room by the dental hygienist, and I declined having more x-rays taken since I previously sent copies of my bite wings to the Mayfield Heights location on May 14, 2022, and June 24, 2022; and bite wings to the Brooklyn location on August 16, 2022, along with a pano x-ray on August 25, 2022. The office manager in Mentor told me that they had a copy of my pano x-ray, but they would need a copy of my bite wings. I asked her to check the Mayfield Heights and Brooklyn locations, which she was reluctant to do. However, she returned to her workspace and called both places. As she spoke to an unknown Mayfield Heights/Brooklyn office representative, I could hear the content of the conversation and she was making disparaging comments about me. Eventually, the office manager returned to the x-ray room where I was patiently seated, and she repeated that my bite wings could not be located, and she asked me to have a seat in the lobby. As I was seated in the lobby, I called the Aspen Dental Corporate Office to complain about my experience thus far. As I was complaining, I was so upset that I was talking in a loud tone of voice, and the clerks peaked their heads up from behind the desk and started laughing. Ten to fifteen minutes later, the office manager stood near the clerks and said that my bite wings were located but she did not offer me an apology. Moments later, the dental hygienist returned to the doorway with a look of disgust on her face and escorted me to the examining room. She asked me to lay back in the seat so she could do measurements of my gums. I sat back in the chair and looked up and noticed the ceiling panels had water spots and one of the panels looked like it was going to collapse. I could also hear Aspen Dental staff in another room laughing and saying "Kill, kill, kill," which concerned me because I am a military veteran diagnosed with PTSD. As far as the services the dental hygienist provided, I would give her a mediocre rating because she did cut into my gums on several occasions, and dropped a few dental utensils on the floor, which I am imagining she replaced. After the dental hygienist completed the periodontal maintenance, I met with the dentist. He introduced himself and tried to engage in light conversation by asking me about my weekend. However, I was so upset about my experience at Aspen Dental, that I replied, "Not good." Had he asked me to elaborate, I would have given him a mouthful of today's experience. After the dental exam, I was told by the dental hygienist that I was done but then she asked me to recline once again because she forgot to administer the fluoride. Afterwards, the dental hygienist escorted me to the front and asked me to pay my bill. I walked over to the clerk and asked for an itemized bill, which I requested to review with a staff member. Eventually, the office manager returned with the bill and attempted to hand it to me, to which I replied, "I want to go over it with you." I walked to her desk and noticed that her workspace was in disarray and there was what appears to be either molds or replicas of people's teeth right in front of me. It was absolutely disgusting. After paying my bill, I put the receipt in my computer bag and left without saying another word. Overall, I would have given the following stars for today's experience: Licensed providers (dentist and dental hygienist): 2.5 Administrative staff: 0. Summary: Overall, I was disappointed with today's experience because it did not meet my expectations. I will not be returning! Corrective action recommended: Fire the office manager and train other clerical staff and licensed providers to obtain patient satisfaction feedback immediately.

I am a retired RN and am a patient of Aspen here in Mentor and first saw the dentist in Knoxville TN. Highly, highly recommend Aspen dentists and all the staff. So many people fear going to the dentist. I can tell you Dr V gets the work done pain free and with excellence. Make your appt. Hope to see you at my cleaning which is in September!

On the way, I called to see where I should have my previously taken x-rays sent for them to get them. They told us no, they don't import x-rays from other dentists, they have to take their own. I should've stopped there. So I got there and they take me back for x-rays, and the lady who did my x-rays was super nice. But then I met the doctor. He was very rude and condescending. For background: I've been told I need crowns on my four front teeth and that this place does sedation for that. So I talk to the doctor and he says that the oral surgeon (the only one who does sedation) is a "specialist" and can't do crowns. Then he looks at my teeth and says the x-rays are taken from the front and that I might need root canals. He said he needs to remove all the decay and then decide whether it's crowns or root canals. When I ask why he can't figure it out before he starts work, he pulls out a pen and paper and explains the anatomy of a tooth. When I mention that I've been to about 6 dentists looking for someone who will sedate for crowns, he says that there are private dentists that do it. I ask him who, and he says, and I quote, "You have Google on your phone, right?" So I Google "sedation dentistry" and this place is the 3rd result, which I show him, and he says, "Yes we do sedation for wisdom teeth and extractions." I also heard a scream come from the oral surgeons office, then they closed the door. I left the place fuming. Don't ask the doctor questions. Update: They are now charging us for the x-rays they said were free.

I have gone here for years. Never felt like a personable friendly environment. Set an appointment recently. Called to reschedule, for the following Friday. Set the appointment, they called back to reschedule me as the hygenist isnt there on Fridays. Show up to my re-reschduled appointment set by them and the doors were locked. No sign in the window saying they were closed, no phones being answered. Called and left multiple messages, no call back. Called in after hearing from no-one to be told they were closed that day and I should have received a call... i didnt have any heads up there closing last minute on the day of my appt that was rescheduled by them. Waited on hold for 20 minutes for the office manager to see how they would like to resolve this and take care of there customer. Instead was hung up on after a 20 minute hold. Professionalism and customer service don't seem to be a priority to them. This experience had me schedule an appointment elsewhere.

Dentist , sales rep , staff in general are all amazing !!!! I have a huge fear of going to the dentist and I honestly can say that all the staff at mentor Ohio aspen are amazing ! Very friendly , gentle & caring of your needs . I recently had to do full mouth dentures which I really did not want to considering I'm only 24 years old . Best experience I could ask / imagine for . Got my 4 wisdom teeth removed here a year ago. Read this whole book if you wanna know why I'm leaving a review now, instead of then. The whole experience was awkward, seeing as I thought I just needed a ride to and from due to anesthesia. Now I don't remember if I knew this ahead of time or not, but they want your ride to stay in the parking lot the duration of your surgery. My friend had left to go do errands, and I had to wait for her to turn around and come back before they'd even take me back. This is a really weird rule because 1) if something happens to me under anesthesia, my ride is of no help. That's 911. 2) people often don't have friends who can stop their lives to sit in a parking lot for an hour. An Uber driver could do the same thing. Now, my friend left anyway, so when I came to im getting scolded by the nurse and how I'm now holding up the next appointment, but I just CAN'T go wait in the lobby. Again. Weird rule. Friend pulls up shortly, and even tho I am 100% coherent, this lady nurse who, I felt like she was a foot shorter than me, is literally pulling down on my arm trying to "walk" me to my car. Again. Awkward as HELL. I was practically playing tug-o-war with this woman lmfao. The healing? They gave me more drugs for the discomfort than post surgery!! But who wants to be the person calling for more pills. I just dealt with it by breaking the pills in half and eating them with ibuprofen. NOW FOR THE FUN UPDATE AS TO WHY I'M EVEN WRITING THIS! They FU%&ED my back molar up. Until today I thought I had a nasty cavity that was the result of the impacted tooth, but there is no decay, these people CRACKED MY BACK MOLAR NEARLY IN H A L F!! And said nothing! Just sent me on my way, no wonder that side hurt so much worse! I'll never suggest this office. Weird rules, weird employees and flat out bad work.

I'd rate 0 stars if I could!!! I needed a simple teeth cleaning. So I called, gave them my insurance info and confirmed the visit (only availability was 3 weeks away on a Saturday at 8 am). I arrive. They start running tests and taking Xrays. I asked about the cleaning. The dental assistant said the dentist (who was a different name than who I was even scheduled with) didn't have time today. I told her I was scheduled for a cleaning, why wouldn't a dentist have time??? The assistant said He might have time but couldn't make any guarantees. I said I'd like to know because I was scheduled for a cleaning. She said maybe and they continued racking up the tests and Xrays. I finally get to the dentist chair where I was seen by 3 different people, all who gave me general info about oral care and then got up and left. The assistant comes back, I ask her about the cleaning. She said that they recommend a "procedure" that was $2,700 (out of pocket) and they can't do a cleaning today. So they basically lied to me, racked up as many billable services they could and then denied me what I was scheduled for in the first place. A total joke of a scam. I feel taken advantage of. I will never be back.
