Wow the Dentist didn't get all the tooth during the extraction! Then when it got infected he refused to call me back and so I have to get another dentist to do emergency work on the tooth! And obviously I have to file a malpractice claim and go to court all over a $400. Dollar tooth pull! I seriously can't explain what's going on at this office! They seem nice on the surface but the sales are aggressive and they just don't do what they say or seem to actually care or be genuine about customer health! I do not recommend dealing with them! Thanks for the infection guys! I should add they also don't use a protective vest for X-rays! And sell unneeded services! They also messed up the can't seem to get billing right and haven't given me my records as required by law! They also blackballed me when I went to BBB and lied about the issues to the BBB! They also messed up the prescription and a bunch of other stuff and just don't care at all!

I was not happy with this place. I had to switch dentists due to insurance change and Aspen was in my network so I decided to try it. During x-rays they never put the lead apron on. Was very rushed feeling in general. They diagnosed me with periodontal disease. I found this very odd due to the fact that I had been going to the dentist regularly for my entire life and have never been told that this disease is of concern or that my gums are unhealthy. I brush and floss per the normal recommendations. I do not have any issues with my gums at all. They never bleed during brushing or flossing. The one thing I didn't realize at first was the "ambushing" that happened when I was being told I have this disease that does irreversible damage. The hygienist, the dentist, and the front desk secretary came and talked to me about in the chair. I did manage to ask "How does this happen?". I was told some people are just prone to it even if their gums and teeth are healthy like mine. No cavities and no gum issues and yet I am supposed to believe I have a disease that causes irreversible bone damage. At first I was going to do the treatment. I told myself "Even if you don't have this disease there is no harm in having a treatment that does deeper cleaning.". Then, I looked up the dentist online and found horrible reviews across the board. I looked up the disease online to learn more about it and found I have zero symptoms. Not a single symptom. I also found it is the most heavily diagnosed dental disease. So, I canceled everything for that dentist and decided I will get a second opinion from another dentist. One that feels more "right" and if I am diagnosed from that place, I'll feel more comfortable dishing out over $1k to them.

The X-ray Tech, the doctor and the hygienist were very nice. I like the diversity of cultures that work there that is a big thing for me. The only thing I did not like about this clinic is there is no privacy when discussing treatment plans and how much procedures are going to cost. There's people in the waiting area then not too far away you have the front desk lady talking loud about your sensitive information and even your child's. Most dentists I have been to have a private office where they discuss sensitive matters. Otherwise this dental office is okay.

Was completely and utterly scammed by aspen dental. I came in with a broken tooth. They told me I had "periodontal disease" and cleaned half of my mouth. They gave me no indication that they would not be fixing my tooth that day. They cleaned half my mouth and sent me on my way, leaving me with 2000 dollars in debt and still with a broken tooth. Do not go here. They care about money, not about you. There is some serious malpractice going on at Aspen Dental

Short review: My treatment plan was highly padded with unnecessary procedures and costs. I felt the whole thing was sketchy and started over at a different office, where it turned out I did NOT have periodontal disease, nor did I even have two cavities that Aspen was planning to fill. I went to Aspen because they were in-network for my insurance. I am now going to an out-of-network office and am much happier. Long review: I hadn't been to a dentist in a couple of years, and a filling broke, so I needed to get in quickly. There are only two clinics in all of Salem that are in network for my insurance, and one of them couldn't see me for three months. So I was grateful Aspen could get me in same-day. I can see my gums receding, so I wasn't surprised to be told I had periodontal disease and that I needed deep cleaning. The dentist also found three cavities that needed filling, and the tooth with a broken filling needed a crown. After the exam I went to the financial office. There I learned that even in-network, my total was $2700. $1200 of that was my periodontal cleaning. I was freaked out, and asked why I wasn't told the price when they brought it up. "They don't do financial. They take care of the health of your teeth, and I do financial." Okay, but why is this so much? What is the difference in cleanings that I should pay this much for the deep cleaning? "I just do financial, I don't know the dental end." Meaning I don't get to talk to anyone about costs AND care, and find a balance between the two that I can manage. I was also told, when I said maybe I just needed to do a regular cleaning, that the hygienist *would not* perform a regular cleaning on my teeth, now that I had been diagnosed with periodontal disease, as it could come back on her. She did finally bring the hygienist back to answer questions about the procedure itself. I asked for a printout of the costs, and when she gave it to me, she said, (previous quotes were approximations; this is an exact quote) "Well, I'm not going to go over every code with you." So I did my best to look at it alone and try to understand it. I found a smart electric toothbrush for $135 which no one had spoken to me about. "Your hygienist prescribed it for you." I decided to go ahead with everything, as I am worried about my teeth. The next morning, before I went in for my first procedure, I was looking again at my dental plan, and more and more things were jumping out at me. A bite guard which I had said I wanted more information on was on the plan at a cost of $368. The deep cleaning included $600 worth of "bacterial decontamination" which wasn't covered by insurance at all. I called the financial person and asked why, if it was a necessary part of periodontal treatment (which my insurance covers) it wasn't covered. She said that was a question for my insurance. I had a bad gut feeling about everything, and canceled my upcoming treatments. I started over with a different office that had great reviews, which was out of network for me. The new office measured my gaps at 3s and 4s, not 5s and 6s as the Aspen hygienist had done. They said I do NOT have periodontal disease, and that although they are receding a bit with age, my teeth and gums are clean and healthy. They did a routine cleaning. I have an appointment for a crown and one cavity - the other two cavities the second dentist could not find, even though we redid x-rays especially to look for them, to make sure we didn't miss anything. My new hygienist didn't even know what the "bacterial decontamination" code was supposed to be for, so apparently not a routine part of periodontal care. I feel like I had a really narrow escape, not just financially but from a lot of unnecessary dental work. The one 5-star thing at Aspen was the x-ray technician, who tried really hard to make my x-rays less agonizing than they always are.

Called Aspen because I had a dental issue while in Salem for business. They got me in the next day and corrected the problem immediately. The only negative was that they handed me a mask as soon as I approached the desk for sign in. Time to ditch the mask!!!!

I'm one of those people who can't afford to go to the dentist more than once in a blue moon, so my teeth aren't the best. I've had bad past experiences with dentists because of this so I'm always really scared to go. I called looking for urgent help because I broke one of my molars down the middle and wanted to make sure it wouldn't be infected. They got me in the next day, took a look at it, and told me it was severely infected and needed to be removed before the infection spread and cause damage to the rest of my mouth. I was scared I wouldn't be able to afford a full extraction, but they were extremely kind and understanding, and helped me get approved for a financing plan so I can pay off the bill over 12 months. As soon as money stuff was settled, Dr. Berger did an excellent job removing the dead tooth. He was very nice and took good care of me here. The entire team was wonderful, and if I could afford to go back more often, I would. From now on I'm gonna do everything I can to take better care of my teeth, but I couldn't have asked for better urgent care. The extraction only took about 30 minutes. Thanks so much!
