Their billing practices are SCAM. This company requires you to pay more than double the actual cost of your services based on horribly inaccurate estimates upfront just to book the services and say they'll refund you the difference of the actual out of pocket cost. They don't bother to mention it'll be at least 3 months until you actually receive the refund. They required me to pay an estimate of $1317 (actual out of pocket cost was $575) to book my wisdom teeth removal procedure. I knew this estimate was not at all accurate because I have a DHMO plan, which provides me with a charge sheet for all dental billing codes so I know my costs ahead of time, and when I brought this up to the office manager who was assisting me, she said I could wait for an accurate estimate to be submitted to and processed by my insurance company, but it could take up to 90 days and then I'd have to wait even longer than that because they won't book the procedure until you've paid for it beforehand. I asked the office manager how long it normally takes to receive the accurate estimate from the insurance company, she said she couldn't say. I was in a lot of pain, so I was not able to wait potentially several months to have the procedure. Essentially, I was coerced into paying over double the actual out of pocket cost of my procedure. When I had to schedule another procedure for some cavity fillings, the office manager again told me I had to pay the entire cost upfront to book the appointment, and the estimate was way over the actual cost again. So that time I said I will wait for an accurate estimate to be processed by my insurance, I will wait up to 90 days to receive an accurate estimate so that I don't pay more than I am supposed to again and have to wait a ridiculous amount of time to receive the refund I am owed. The insurance company came back with an estimate within the week. So, the office staff knew it would not take 90 days. They are forcing people to pay over double the actual cost of their procedures a month in advance and then saying it'll take them 90 days to process the refund you are owed. This entire billing process is fraudulent and should be investigated. It is not normal practice for a dental office to charge patients over double what their actual cost of the procedure is just to book an appointment for the services. When your company is receiving 2x the payment they are owed in advance of the services, it is not acceptable to then take 3 months to refund the patient's money back that they are owed. Aspen Dental does not care about the patients, just about the money. How many people do you think that have gone here went without the care they needed because they couldn't afford the cost of the ridiculously overpriced estimate they force you to pay upfront? It's messed up. I have nothing against the clinical team, they are kind people and do a great job, but unfortunately I will have to seek care elsewhere because these billing practices are irresponsible.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, the doctor chipped my front tooth. Which can't be replace now until my Invisalign is finish. They want to charge me to rescan my teeth for there mistake. On top of that I had three doctors for one treatment process because they can't keep good staff. I'm so disappointed in this place. Customer service is also just ridiculous.

Very poor customer service. Tried several times to contact the office staff and no response after leaving messages. I finally get a hold of someone and had questions about my procedure that was 2k dollars and someone again was going to call me back and never did. Very unprofessional and my wife just canceled her appointment.

Run away from this place, worst then a car dealership. Just wanted a simple cleaning, they spent 1 hour taking 360 X-ray + 18 invasive X-ray + a 3D X-ray. Doctor comes over tells me I need a root canal and a filling. Gave me information of their friendly root canal specialist. I said please give me a filling and a cleaning. But No Without seeing a specialist they won't do a filling. Ok no problem How about a cleaning? She said I'd need to see their front office, they give me an estimate of $1050 just for a cleaning!! After my dental insurance. Unbelievable & unheard of, simple cleaning is just a way to gouge a customer. Staff were friendly So you can feel better about giving them outrageous amount of money. Wasted 90 minutes of my life Run run away from Aspen

Scam scam scam run while you can worst dental experience I ever had. They will try to squeeze your hard earned money not your advocate for your health. Read what you sign on before you sign They tie you in and no way out All procedures here are over priced and not needed. They exploited the "subjective" assessment. R U N

My first appointment at Aspen was great! Got a cleaning, new to the area and super close to home. Second appointment was good as well. I made an appointment for my husband to have a consultation, and as we were not yet married the price was just too high. We were able to find another dentist for much cheaper close by. Today I have decided to join my husband at the other dentist, as I have not been able to keep an appointment with Aspen! At my last appointment in January, I made my routine cleaning appointment for July. I also wanted a consultation for their brand of invisible aligners. When I came in for my July appointment, I realized I never received a confirmation. They told me there must have been an error in the system, my appointment had been cancelled due to non confirmation, three months after I scheduled it (3 months before my appointment). I made another appointment for September, no big deal just a cleaning. Made myself a reminder for the week before to make sure I'm still on the calendar. Called in today, and I am not on the calendar. They have no record of my appointment. Wasting my time, did not have any care when I politely stated I would not be rescheduling but going to a new dentist. No loss for them - but seems I'm not the only one with these issues. Taking time off of work is hard, and frustrating when it turns out to be pointless. I do not recommend if you value your time.

Mostly concerned with how well your credit card is doing. New patient exam on 8/22/2022. Technician was great for x-rays, etc. Hygienist really pushed me hard on an electric toothbrush (I tried one once and my teeth were far worse at my next 2 cleanings) - this is relevant later. Dentist came in to do the cancer screening/checkup. Not one of these people recognized that I have an extra tooth. I pointed it out on the x-ray and the dentist remarked that she thought my wisdom tooth just curved! It was impacted, but there was a clear distinction on the x-ray. Somehow, after 25 years of only ever needing a crown (not a single filling in that time), I had 4 fillings that needed to be done, a possible root canal or crown, and I needed scaling/root planing. Total bill: $1,700+ Was told I had to have the scaling/root planing done before they would "allow" me to have my teeth cleaned. Not sure if this is illegal or not. Definitely unethical at the least. Cost for that: Over $300. I've had the procedure done before, it was under $100. When I asked for an itemized list: $135 for an electric toothbrush that they claimed "came with" the procedure. $34 for a special toothpaste. $72 for antigingival irrigation (should be less than $40 even out of pocket). Another $36 for a rinse. None of this covered by insurance, surprise surprise. How much the procedure should cost according to my insurance, after they pay: under $50. Virtually all of that cost was for profit and it was "mandatory" before I could get a cleaning. If you do go here, make sure to wear your absolute worst work clothes. Do not wear a collared shirt or look like you have any ability to pay whatsoever.

The office staff and in general staff were friendly. I liked Aspen dental when we first started, however, they continually have a hygienist that doesn't show up and end up moving my appointments. I had an appointment scheduled in March, then rescheduled to May, then rescheduled to July and then rescheduled to August. Then I receive a call today to reschedule my August appointment to another time and they have almost nothing available. It's beyond frustrating to be rescheduled a few times but now to be rescheduled 5 times over an almost 5 month period is poor business. My husband and I will be finding a new dentist that isn't run like a corporation and actually cares for their patients.

Went in about a month ago with extreme pain in my lower right jaw. Sitting there in pain they wrote me up a dental plan for 33,000 dollars. Obviously I didn't go for that, then they offered me a 3,000 dollar cleaning service, again I was in a lot of pain and unfortunately made a decision in duress. So now I have to get on the phone with synchrony bank and plead to them that I cannot make payments on a 3,000 teeth cleaning charge, that's not even the worse part. The interest rate on these payments are 26.99 percent. And my tooth is still abscess. I did not feel helped, I feel taken advantaged of.
