Ashley Orthodontics located in Staunton,VAis proud to be a Premier Provider of Invisalign. The leading clear aligner system is a modern orthodontic treatment that straightens your teeth without metal brackets or wires. Using a series of clear, removable aligners, custom made to fit your teeth, Invisalign gradually moves your teeth into proper alignment giving you a beautiful, healthy smile.
Traditional metal braces remain the most popular choice of orthodontic treatment today. The goal of braces is to move the teeth into their proper alignment to improve the function of the jaw and bite and to create an attractive smile. The benefits of orthodontic treatment will last a lifetime. Did you know having properly aligned teeth can have a direct impact on your dental health? Straight teeth are easier to clean which reduces the risk of future decay.
Early orthodontic treatment, also known as Phase 1 treatment, or early interceptive treatment, involves using an orthodontic appliance to widen the upper arch to create enough space for all of the permanent teeth. The goal of early treatment is to guide the growth and development of the jaw and face before all of the permanent teeth have erupted. This growth can be accomplished with an orthodontic appliance known as a palatal expander.
You may be thinking I am too old to have orthodontic treatment. Teeth can move at any age and a straight smile never gets old! A healthy bite is equally as important at 45 as it is at 15. When your teeth are in proper alignment, you will experience less decay and periodontal disease which will help you keep your natural teeth for much longer. Orthodontic treatment is also much less invasive than some cosmetic dentistry procedures that require shaving down your natural teeth.
