A typical Invisalign treatment uses a series of anywhere from 18 to 30 trays, which are switched out approximately every two weeks. Typical treatment with Invisalign can take anywhere from twelve to eighteen months from start to completion, depending on the severity of the misalignment.

These digital impressions are entered into a computer system to provide a 3D image to show both patient and dentist the process by which the aligner trays will straighten the teeth. The lab then creates the aligner trays in accordance with the digital impressions, and sends them to the dentist for the patient to pick up. Instructions are given as to how to use and care for the aligner trays, and the patient makes periodic visits to Dr. Port for check-ups.

Dr. Forest Christopher Port received his dental training at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, graduating in 1998. After dental school, he moved to Western North Carolina and in 1999 purchased his dental practice from Dr. Eddie Cranford in Hendersonville, NC.

In 2000, Dr. Port pursued training in cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry from the internationally renowned Nash Institute in Charlotte, NC. He later became a clinical instructor at the Nash Institute and spent a year working side-by-side with Dr. Ross Nash and Dr. Robert Lowe, widely recognized as innovators in cosmetic and restorative dentistry.

Dentistry is in my blood. I grew up as the son of a dentist and the grandson of a dentist. I also have two uncles and three cousins who are dentists. My grandpa established our family dental practice in Sacramento, California in 1948 and the Yee's have been practicing there ever since.

After graduating from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 2016, I began practicing with my dad as the third generation of Yee dentists to practice in that office. After a few years, I had the desire to explore outside of California, which eventually led to my wife and I settling down in Asheville where we have loved living ever since.
