He credits his 5th grade teacher for instilling in him a love for science. Combining this love with a desire to help others, he knew he was destined for the healthcare field at a young age. After high school he attended the University of St. Thomas where he received his Bachelor of Science in chemistry in 2012. He conducted research at 3M before pursuing dentistry in 2014. He received numerous scholarships and recognitions before receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota in 2018.
Dr. Heinleins passion for dentistry fuels his dedication to finding new and innovative ways to better serve his patients. His favorite aspects of dentistry are the relationships he establishes and restoring both smiles and confidence.
He currently resides in St. Paul with his lovely wife, Jacklyn, and their rescue dog, Dallas. When not in scrubs, he can be found in an ice rink, on a golf course, or in the kitchen trying out a new recipe.

I love the dentist here. They have never made me wait for more than a couple minutes if at all. Everyone is pleasant and kind and I never feel any pain. It's great because i always dreaded through dentist and I don't anymore!

This is the best Dentist I have ever gone to... The staff is wonderful, fun, and very friendly - the Dentist even more so. I love the music playing during procedures but sometimes find it hard to not sing when hands are in my mouth :) I am impressed with the amount of work they do themselves as you usually get a referral to get other things done (which sucks). Not here .. they have new technology and know how to use it well. More so, getting me in so fast to help fix my front teeth for my daughters wedding - priceless!

Ascent Family Dentistry is amazing! I have struggled to find a dentist I feel comfortable with and trust. Dr. Heinlein made me feel comfortable and explained the dental issues I was having in detail, he even offered to show me what he was explaining. He is very personable and listened to my concerns - he approached my dental care with a positive tone and made me feel hopeful my dental health can be improved. Kate was also amazing. She was very personable and made me feel comfortable during my cleaning. She also was very knowledgeable and helped me understand how to better care for my teeth. She did not shame me for my dental issues, but instead offered solutions and even comfort regarding my teeth. I could not recommend Ascent Family Dentistry more!
