Dr. Calvin Bessonet is dedicated to providing families in his hometown community with quality dental care for a lifetime of healthy, beautiful smiles! He graduated from Ascension Catholic High School in 1994, received his bachelors degree from Louisiana State University in 1998, and went on to earn his dental degree from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 2003.

Dr. Bessonet is committed to lifelong learning in the dental field and has been recognized by other general dentists as a leader who exemplifies the importance of quality continuing dental education. He completes more than 100 hours of continuing education courses each year. He has participated in an intensive, 400-hour implant and bone regeneration program with the esteemed Dr. Hilt Tatum, one of the pioneers in the field of implant dentistry and inventor of many of the advanced surgical techniques used today. Additionally, advanced training in cosmetic, restorative, and implant dentistry, as well as Invisalign and traditional braces, allows Dr. Bessonet to work with you on a wide variety of dental concerns, forming a partnership in achieving your optimum oral health.

Dr. Bessonet is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He has also achieved Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) by completing 500 hours of continuing education and passing an extensive comprehensive exam. He is passionate about using new technology to improve the comfort and quality of dentistry for you and your family. With the help of todays intraoral camera, digital X-rays, 3-D technology, and sedation, he can provide dental care that is more comfortable and less invasive than ever before!

Outside of the office, Dr. Bessonet enjoys spending time with his wife, Toni, and their two beautiful children. They currently live just two miles from the practice in Geismar. Dr. Bessonets hobbies include fishing, outdoor activities, and attending LSU sporting events.

I grew up in St. Amant, La and Im the mother of 2 sons and a daughter whom I love dearly. Spending time with my family brings me a ton of joy and I always look forward to my weekend to spend with them. Ive been in the dental field for over 7 years working mostly as a EDDA & X-Ray dental assistant until I was hired at Ascension Premier Dental. Im currently positioned as one of their front desk receptionists and I couldnt be happier with the transition. My previous dental assistant training has made it much easier for me to understand each patients case to help identify and assist them with their dental needs. Lauren is originally from Donaldsonville, LA. She has lived there her entire life and has no plans to move. Despite her commute, Lauren loves the small-town atmosphere and finds safety in being rooted with so many good people from the area. She graduated from Ascension Catholic High School in 1981 and attended Nicholls State University for a short while before she realized God was calling her elsewhere.

Lauren has worked in the medical field for 20 years. Ten of those years have been for Dr. Bessonet. One of the things she enjoys most about working at Ascension Premier Dental is helping patients with scheduling, financing, and filing their insurance. Lauren also enjoys greeting the patients as they come into the practice. She loves to strike up casual conversation because she truly finds interest in all people. Lauren loves calming those who are fearful by gaining their trust.

Logan is from St. Amant, LA. She is a newlywed with no children, but she has a black Lab that she spoils like a child. Logan graduated three years ago with her dental assistant certification. She has been working for Ascension Premier Dental since 2015 and has never been happier. Logan loves all that Dr. Bessonet has taught her over the past year, and she enjoys watching him treat patients with quality care and service. He is truly the best dentist in town.

Logan loves being an assistant and easing the fears of her patients. She pays attention to their emotional needs along with their medical situation. If a patient wants to talk, Logan will make sure to comfort them with conversation, but if they would rather be quiet and just relax, she will make that happen. I live in Gonzales, La with my two sons and a very spoiled yellow lab. I have been a dental assistant for over 7 years now and absolutely love working for Ascension Premier Dental.
