Dr. Erin Maturin, owner of Ascension Childrens Dental, was born and raised in Franklin, Louisiana. She attended Louisiana State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors degree in Biology. She then went on to LSUs School of Dentistry in New Orleans to receive her dental degree, where she received the Chancellors Award, AAPD Predoctoral Student Award, AAO Interest in Development of Oro-Facial Complex Award, andthe American Dental Society of Anesthesiology Horace Wells Senior Student Award. While in school, she was a member of the C. Edmunds Kells Honor Society and was an Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor student.

After graduation, she decided to pursue her passion in pediatric dentistry and completed a Pediatric Dental residency at LSU School of Dentistry. She won first place in the LSU School of Dentistry Post-Graduate Research Award for her research project on the effect of smokeless tobacco on oral cells.This research was recently published in theJournal of Periodontologyin August of 2014.Dr. Maturin also received the Richard C. Pugh Achievement Award which honors the top 3 percent of all pediatric dental residents in the nation. She was one of 15 recipients in the nation to recievethis award in 2013.

To stay on top of the latest industry news and developments, Dr. Maturin is a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Louisiana Dental Association. She has hospital privileges at Childrens Hospital in New Orleans to help with the Childrens Hospital craniofacial team.She will be attending craniofacial clinics in Baton Rouge and New Orleans and working with oral surgeons, plastic surgeons, ENTs and speech pathologists to provide care for these patients.

In September of 2014, Dr. Maturin became board certified by theAmerican Board of Pediatric Dentistry, an accomplishment that demonstrates a pediatric dentists pursuit of continued proficiency and excellence. The certification process involves a written Qualifying Examination and an Oral Clinical Examination covering all areas of information on which a pediatric dentist should be knowledgeable.

After graduation, Dr. Maturin practiced as a pediatric dentist in San Antonio and Austin, TX. She then moved back home to Louisiana and opened Ascension Childrens Dental in 2015. The office just celebrated its sixth anniversary!

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, Dr. Josh Parker, who is an orthodontist in Baton Rouge and can be found spending her Saturdays watching football and cheering on the LSU Tigers! She is the mother to a 4 year old son, Jackson and a 2 year old daughter, Jolie.

Dr. Josh Parker was born and raised in Baton Rouge and graduated from Central Private High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. While in dental school, he was inducted intoOmicron Kappa UpsilonNational Dental Honor Society, C. Edmunds Kells Dental Honor Society, received several scholarships and awards for academic excellence, and graduated at the top of his class.

After dental school, Dr. Parker decided to further his education in the field of orthodontics to help change peoples lives by creating beautiful smiles! He completed his three-year orthodontic specialty residency and received a Masters of Science degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, which was ranked the #1 dental school in the country by U.S. News. His graduate research was on lingual orthodontics (braces behind your teeth) and worked closely withDrs. SalomeandComellawho together have treated thousands of patients with lingual orthodontic appliances.Dr. Parker was recently chosen to present his graduate research project atOrthoVOICE 2014, an Orthodontic International Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas.

Outside the office, Dr. Parker enjoys golfing, running, and cheering for the LSU Tigers with his wife and pediatric dentist, Dr. Erin Maturin. They have a 4-year old son, Jackson and a 2-year old daughter, Jolie.

Hello! My name is Jessica and I have been working with Dr. Erin since March of 2017. I graduated from Riverside Academy High School and then attended River Parishes Community College. I am also a graduate of Medical Training College, where I obtained my CPR and EDDA certificates. I have been working in the dental field for the last 10 years. I enjoy working with children in our community. They make each day different and enjoyable for me. We strive to make their dental visits as fun and exciting for them as possible.

I became a mother to a beautiful little girl named Presley in May of 2016. I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter, along with our family and friends as much as possible. I look forward to meeting you and your family!

Hey yall! My name is Lindsey and I have been working with Dr. Erin since December of 2018. I graduated from East Ascension High School (Go Spartans) and then attended River Parishes Community College. I am also a graduate of Dutchtown School of Dental Assisting where I obtained my EDDA, radiology and CPR certificates. I have been a dental assistant for 6 years. I love getting to spend every day with children and see their smiles when they leave our office.

I enjoy spending time with my husband, Jared, and my two beautiful daughters, Caroline and Cambree. On the weekends you can find us at the ballpark we love a good ball game! I cant wait to welcome you and your family to our office!

I was born and raised in Pierre Part, graduated from Assumption High School, then attended Ascension College. I have been a dental assistant in the Ascension area for the last 13 years. I have the pleasure of working alongside Dr. Erin while watching the children in our community grow up. My husband and I stay busy with our daughter who is very active in sports and enjoy spending our weekends outdoors. I look forward to getting to know our patients, parents and families!

Hi! My name is Valencia. I am from Darrow, LA and graduated from St. Amant High School (Go Gators!). I have been an EDDA dental assistant for the past 5years alongside Dr. Erin. Fun fact I started doing an externship with Dr. Erin after graduating dental assistant school and never left. I am the mother of a handsome boy, Tre Jr., and a beautiful little girl, Ire. I love football and Nick Saban. When Im not watching sports, I love spending time with my husband, Tre Sr., and family. I love working with children and watching them leave our office with BIG SMILES. It has been a joy watching the kids in my parish grow!
