The majority of these appliances are prescribed, designed and fabricated in whole or in part by herself and staff in an in-house laboratory. We cater to 'Zebras.' Today's tooth replacement options are more effective than ever before. Dental implants not only restore your appearance and dental function, theyalso help protect your oral and general health for years to come. Implant-supported restorationsare held securely in place by small titanium posts that are surgically embeddedinto the jaw. Dr. Arlene Kubit coordinates with a skilled oral surgeon to oversee all aspects of our patients' care. At Artistry in Dentistry in Erie, PA, we use only the highest quality dental crowns, bridges, and dentures to provide lifelike, long-lasting results.

Even a single missing tooth can have damaging effects. Dental function can benegatively impacted, sincenearby teeth are subjected to increased pressure, oftenleading to misalignment orincreased risk for temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder. The most serious concerns, however, lie below the visible portion of the teeth.

Healthy dental roots stimulate the jaw, prompting the body to deliver vital nutrients to the jawbone. Once teeth fall out or are extracted, this process is interrupted and the area will quickly begin to deteriorate. This deterioration can cause other teeth toshift, loosen, or fall out. Widespread tooth loss can also severely impact one'sdiet and overall well-being.

Implant-supported restorations are the only treatment option thatcan haltbone loss. Sinceimplants areinserted directly into the jaw, the body reacts by treating them just like tooth roots. Titanium fuses with the jaw, causingthe posts to be permanent once the healing phase is complete.

Implant-supported restorations can be cared for just like your originalteeth. Many restorative options are fixed, meaning there is no daily cleaning required other than brushing and flossing.Compared to traditional dental bridges and dentures, dental implants allow patients to:

Dental implanttreatment generally consists of two phases: placing the implant and attaching the restoration. OnceDr. Kubitdetermines you are a good candidate, she can refer you to a trusted oral surgeon. During dental implantsurgery, incisions will be made in the gums and one or more posts will be placed into the jaw. The soft tissue may be sutured closed or a temporary restoration may be attached.

After aboutfour to six months, the implant posts fuse with the jaw in a process called osseointegration.Oncefully healed, patients can have their permanent, customrestoration attached at Artistry in Dentistry. Although your crown, bridge, or denture mayeventually need to be replaced, dental implants are considered permanent with proper care.

Dental crowns are a trusted and versatile restorative dentistry solution for damaged teeth. Dr. Arlene Kubitmay recommend all-porcelain crowns for their natural-lookingappearance, since these restorations are virtually indistinguishable from your originalteeth. In fact, patients sometimes choose porcelaincrowns simplyfor their cosmetic benefits. At Artistry in Dentistry in Erie, PA, we use only the most advanced materials and techniques for attractive, long-lasting results.

Over time, teeth can become chipped or cracked. Some patients may sustain a fracture while chewing ice or hard candy. Other times, structural damage may have occurred without any noticeablepain or symptoms, which is why it is so important to attend regularcheck-ups. For example, silver fillings can fracture the teeth but these fissures are often undetectable by a patient.Crowns can provide protection in these cases and minimize the risk of further damage.

Dental infection requires the removal of the soft pulp inside the tooth. Although this is a necessary treatment to save the tooth, root canal therapy can leave the tooth'souter portion considerably weakened. Dr. Kubit will typically place a dental crown in these instances to provide strength and support.

Teeth grinding, a common side effect of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder, can lead to wearing of the enamel. In the right patients, crowns can serve two purposes: improve the strength and appearance of damaged teethand restore balance to a misaligned bite. This, in turn, can reduce the effects of TMJ disorder.

Patients who are missing teeth may chooseadental bridgeor an implant-supported crown. This second option boasts several benefits. Combined with a dental implant, this type of restoration replaces a missing tooth from root to crown. Implant-supported crowns fully restore dental function and guard against the bone losslinked to missing teeth. In some cases, crowns are also used infull mouth reconstruction.

In order to place a traditional crown,Dr. Kubitwill first need to remove a small amount of enamel from the treated tooth. This will ensurethat your bite is not affected and that the crownblends seamlessly withyour smile. We use an extremely precise, computer-assisted anesthesia system and also offer oral conscious sedation for patients who feel especially anxious. Next, we will take impressions to send to an offsite laboratory, where your permanent crown will be fabricated.

Today's dentures are more comfortable and lifelike than ever before. Dr. Arlene Kubit offers a range of options at our Erie, PA, practice, including full and partial restorations. Depending on your needs she may recommend a traditional denture or an implant-supported prosthetic, which offers unparalleled stability and several health benefits. Dr. Kubit has been in practice since 1985. In addition to her decades of experience, she has a genuine interest in yourwell-being and will work closely with you to precisely tailor your restorative treatment. If you already have a restoration and it has become chipped or broken, we also offer denture repair.

Traditional partial dentures rely on nearby teeth for support and often have metal clasps. Full dentures are designed to replace an entire upper or lower dental arch. Traditional full dentures rely on a combination of special adhesive and suction to remain in place.

In contrast to traditional dentures, which rest on the gums or attach to remaining teeth, implant-supported restorations are fixed in place and self-sustaining. Dental implants are small titanium posts surgically placed in the jaw thatintegrate with the surrounding bone. Both partial and full dentures can be attached to the top of dental implants.Dr. Kubit can refer patients to a trusted oral surgeon if they choose this option.

To begin fabricating a traditional restoration, Dr. Kubit will first make impressions. Work will begin in ourdental laboratory, taking into consideration detailed instructions regarding the appearance of your denture. Your denture will be customized to provide a natural look and comfortable, snug fit. It will take four to six weeks to receive your permanent restoration. Wewill typically provide you with a provisional denture while you heal from extractions.

If you undergo surgery to receive dental implants, you will need to wait at least four to six months before having your permanent denture attached. Similarto traditional dentures, a temporary can be provided to maintain your appearance and dental function. In select cases, Dr. Kubit can work alongside your surgeon to immediately placea customized denture using the All-on-4 technique.

I needed extensive work done. My experience was by phone. I couldn't be seen for months, payment is up front billing insurance for reimbursement, and the person I spoke to was uncompassionate and condescending. I went to their competition were I got the consultation in days, not months, worked out a reasonable payment plan, and was treated with respect.

Dr. Kibitz truly is an Artist and a wonderful Dentist. She designed a perfect set of dentures for me. They were made to give me back the natural look of my teeth in my younger days. I can once again eat, speak, and smile like normal. Without a doubt Dr. Kubit has allowed me to once again eat in restaurants, and given me confidence to resume my social life. S. Eastman
