Dr. Sheldon Sullivan Dr. Sullivan has dedicated his career as a dentist in Gilbert and Mesa, AZ, to providing his patients with a standard of care that exceeds their expectations of excellence. He graduated from University of the Pacific in San Francisco, CA, in 1996 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Since graduation, Dr. Sullivan has pursued numerous post-graduate educational courses and has received advanced training from the worlds leading educators in dentistry.
Dr. Sullivan is a Fellow of theAcademy of General Dentistry. He is a graduate ofPacific Aesthetic Continuum, one of the most recognized cosmetic dentistry training programs in the nation. He has also completed numerous courses at the esteemed Seattle Institute of Advanced Dental Studies and theKois Center for Dental Excellence. He has mastered the art of restorative and aesthetic dentistry including dental implants and complex restorative dentistry. Labeled as a perfectionist by his patients, Dr. Sullivan is passionate about his profession.

Dr. Sullivan has successfully treated hundreds of restorative and cosmetic cases. He has also served as a clinical mentor atSpear Education, a postgraduate education program to improve skills in cosmetic and restorative dentistry under the direction of the renowned Dr. Frank Spear. As a recognized speaker and dental educator, Dr. Sullivan lectures nationwide at conferences and workshops on the topics of implant and complex restorative dentistry.
Outside of dentistry Dr. Sullivan enjoys spending time with his wife and five children. He enjoys traveling, reading, and taking trips to the lake in the summer time. His family and friends will tell you that he always has several projects in the works: whether it is restoring vehicles, coordinating service projects, or perfecting his talents in the culinary arts, Dr. Sullivan is known as a jack of many trades to all those who know him.

If you have any missing teeth, its important to get it fixed as soon as possible. With a hole in your smile, not only do you run the risk of your other teeth going out of alignment, but your jawbone also begins to decay wherever it is not supported by a tooth root.
Dental implants are small titanium rods that are medically inserted into your jawbone to act as a new tooth root and keep your jawbone stimulated to prevent that facial decay. Here at our office we can place both single-tooth implants as well as preparing your mouth for a full set of implant-supported dentures.
You need a viable amount of good jawbone for us to place the implant, which in some cases may require a bone graft. Dr. Sullivan can determine if you are a good candidate for dental implants. We use our CBCT machine to accurately scan your jaw and safely plan the perfect place for the implant, so it doesnt interfere with your other teeth.
Placement | After you have been approved for a dental implant restoration, we work closely with a trusted oral surgeon who performs the procedure of placing the implant in your jaw. Dr. Sullivan may even go with you to the surgery if you have more involved needs.
Restoration | When the implant has healed as much as it needs, you will then come back to our same office again where we will replace the visible surface of your missing tooth with a beautiful crown or a set of dentures that are custom-made to match the color and shape of the rest of your smile. After this procedure, you can eat, brush, and floss your new teeth just like your natural teeth!
Before we begin an implant for you, well make sure that your jaw is ready for it. If necessary, well even clean your teeth and eradicate any gum disease. Using our CT scanner, well find if your jawbone has the right bone density to support an implant or implants.
When youre missing a tooth or teeth, it can negatively affect your long-term healtheven if those effects may not be immediately visible. You may not be able to eat your favorite foods, and it can affect your speech. Besides that, not replacing missing teeth can cause your other teeth to shift out of place and your jawbone to shrink away.

They redefine the expectation and experience for dentistry (I've never experienced this level of detail and treatment at a dentist). Core services were elevated with professional staff that educates, newer technology/equipment and attention to detail that goes beyond just the teeth. To take it further, they make your experience comfortable during the visit with optional aromatherapy, warm neck roll and a hand wax. I believe they specialize in restorative and cosmetic work but I went in as a new patient with just the need for routine cleaning and left impressed.

9/29/2022 I need to update my review. I've been having some strong sensitivity on my upper right side due to gum recession and it had been really bothering me over the weekend. The office is going to be closed for vacation for a week, but they still squeezed me in on Monday. And then 2 days later, out of nowhere, a crown on my upper left side falls off due to my bad habit of teeth-grinding which apparently is really hard on crowns. I looked at the clock and it's 4:18pm. Uh-oh! I called the office and there was no answer, so I just left a message asking for a referral to another dentist. Within 15 minutes Brittany called and told me that there had been another emergency and she was still in the office, but Dr. Sullivan had just left. But she told me if I came over right away she'd call him back and they could take a look at it for me. I was already having a bad day and this was the last thing I needed. Looking at the crown in my hand I'm thinking the worst, and it turned out that it just needed to be glued back on which is actually an involved process. What a blessing Dr. Sullivan and Brittany were to me today. To come back to the office - after everybody else had left - when they needed to pack for their vacation - was above and beyond what most other doctors would have done. What a gift! Thank you so very much!! A few months earlier... I needed a crown redone and another crown built up to reduce a gap to prevent food from getting caught. I had put it off as long as I could and I was REALLY anxious when I came in. I've had some bad experiences in healthcare and dentistry before, but Dr. Sullivan and his staff are very patient and concerned with my comfort, and they understand people have anxiety about dentists and don't make you feel bad about it. Emma was such a sweetheart and explained things as they progressed so I knew what to expect. She made sure I was okay every step of the process. I've been going to Dr. Sullivan for years and he really is an artist in dentistry. Thank you Dr. Sullivan & Emma!!

Dr. Sullivan and the team at Artistry in Dentistry are truly amazing. I was in search of a Sleep Apnea Oral Device and a friend recommended I speak to Dr. Sullivan because he's the best in Phoenix and they were right! I had never had a spa-like experience at the dentist and was wowed from start to finish! I was so happy that I also had him help me with some clear aligners which I had been putting off for far too long! These guys are the best!

I've had some REALLY bad experiences with dentists over the years. I'm almost 50 and this is the FIRST time I've ever been to a dentist and not felt any pain. They have cutting edge technology. They mill, fire and put your crown on the same day. The entire staff is extremely professional. Every time I'm there they go above and beyond to make sure it's a great experience. They gave me a stress ball, which I didn't even need after my first visit. They give me lip balm every time I go. They put essential oils on my bib. They offer paraffin wax for my hands. They give a choice of either a warm or cool neck roll. They give me noise canceling headphones to listen to music. They even go so far as to massage my jaws with warm stones. I know it's hard to believe that you could have a spa like experience at a dentist's office but I'm telling you, you totally do!! Thank you so much Dr. Sullivan!!

Artistry in Dentistry has the best staff around. They are friendly, welcoming, professional, kind, and make me feel very comfortable. Scheduling has been efficient and easy. I have gone often this past year because of having Invisalign to straighten my teeth. Every step of the process has been satisfactory so far. Dr. Sullivan seems competent, skilled, friendly, and very well spoken of by his staff. My visits with him have been brief, yet adequate. I highly recommend this office for cosmetic and routine dentistry.

Been a patient for a couple months and had some sensitivity. Went in and they evaluated me same day, the Dr said I needed a root canal and got me in at 4pm. I was really overwhelmed with life in general and that was a tipping point. The entire staff was incredible, kind and just so helpful. I will never go to a different dentist. This office is immaculate and the staff really just makes it 12/10.

I have been going to Dr. Sheldon for over 6 years now and have loved each and every experience! I always feel well-taken care of, seen, and heard. Dr. Sheldon and his team really take the time to make each visit comfortable, not only with their expertise and professionalism, but are also very accommodating for a relaxing experience. They offer soothing essential oils, a warm neck pillow, and hand waxing! They also take the time to get to know you personally and welcome you with a smile. I highly recommend!

Our family has been with Dr. Sullivan and staff since he started. We are all treated like family with care and respect. Everyone in the office is friendly and personable. We receive the best in dental hygiene and complete dental care. We highly recommend Dr. Sullivan and his staff for all of your dental needs. They are very meticulous and believe your smile is your best asset. This review still stands. Outstanding staff and service. Dr. Sulllivan is very thorough and concerned with his patients' health, especially their dental health. I love visiting with the staff. Feels like family.

I just had to get two cavities worked on and the experience was amazing. I expressed concerns about becoming numb and how it doesn't usually numb during the first try. They took the time to triple check and numb again before any work was done. The procedure was quick and the assistant was sweet by keeping me informed throughout the whole thing.
