My passion and excitement, as adentist, is derived from being able to provide insight and understanding into the root of each patients dental concerns. Often these issues have gone undiagnosed or have been neglected, patched up, or left untreated, which has led to serious problems. I am happy when Im able to map out a successful plan to remedy these problems and set the groundwork so they do not reoccur.
Many patients enter our office feeling hopeless or lost with regards to their oral health, after having experienced failed attempts at care from other practitioners. I take pride in helping these people through their negative experiences and having them leave empowered, with knowledge and a clear path to oral and overall health.
Many of my patients travel from out-of-state to be treated here. I love and cherish the trust and loyalty these people have in me and our team. I treat all of my patients as family and ensure they receive the excellent care they deserve.

Since completing dental school, I have attended numerous continuing education courses, pursuing dental excellence and striving to master my craft. With my passion to advance the art and science of dentistry, I am able to serve my patients by meeting all of their needs here in our office, in a relaxed and family-oriented environment. In doing so, I provide continuity of care and treatment, for the most effective, pleasant experience and outcome.
Naveen Ghannam joined the Artisan Dental team in 2013 as our Patient Care Coordinator with over 10 years of customer service experience. Her determination and efforts to ensure every patient has an exceptional experience, exceeds expectation. From warmly welcoming new patients to the practice to courteously working with patients insurance to maximize their benefits, Naveen stops at nothing to put our patients first.
Her passion and dedication does not go unnoticed as she has become a favorite amongst our patients and staff. Outside of the office she enjoys spending time with her Husband, their three beautiful daughters and focusing on her side business as a professional freelance makeup artist.
In September of 2021 we welcomed our wonderful Hygienist Hiwota Berhane to the Artisan Dental Family. With her 23 years of experience, graduating from the University of Commonwealth in 1997 with her Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene, Hiwota is a wonderful asset to our Practice! Living in Alexandria, VA with her 2 children she often enjoys visiting the many parks and museums in the area on her free time. She also loves to dance and has a passion for eating clean. In Hiwotas own words, The best part about being a hygienist is the interaction with my patients. I love educating them on their dental health, learning about them and making their hygiene experience as comfortable and pleasant as possible.'
Sunita joined our team in 2005 and has provided exceptional service as a Practice Administrator. A Dentist in her native India, her commitment to excellence is noted in part through her various educational achievements which include - a dental degree from Mysore University in Karanataka, India, successful completion of Implant Placement and Bone Management in Washington DC and Sinus Lift practicum in Las Vegas, NV. She is also a member of the American Implant Dental Association. Sunita integrates her passion for dentistry and patient care by staying updated with current developments through diverse continuing education courses, also volunteering her services internationally through joint efforts such as the Medical Mission of Mercy in Rombolon, Philippines. Additionally, Sunita has been sponsoring a child since 2002 in Zambea who also aspires to change the world through medicine by becoming a doctor. Her passions outside of dentistry include traveling abroad and cooking up new recipes in the kitchen! Sunitas knowledge and experience is a valuable asset to our team while her friendly nature and kindness are what truly speak to our offices ultimate goal in servicing our patients.
Tiffanie joined the Artisan team in 2019 as Dr. Ghannams Dental Assistant. She completed her CDA course in Connecticut in 2015 and shortly after moved to the Northern Virginia area. Tiffanie quickly became a favored member of the Artisan Family with her outstanding chairside manner and dedication to patient care. On her free time, Tiffanie enjoys riding her motorcycle with her husband, trying out fun attractions in the area with her children and cooking up a feast in the kitchen!

Dr.Ghannam and other staff were very friendly, and professional. The doctor was patient and explained procedures and answered my questions in detail. Dr. Ghannam seemed very knowledgeable in his expertise as witnessed during my visit. In addition, the office was clean and very modern. I would most definitely recommend this practice.

My follow up appointment was just as comforting as my first one (two days ago). Which says a lot because during this appointment I had oral surgery. Dr. Ghannam took the time to explain every single step to me. He made sure I fully understood before he proceeded. I have had oral surgery before but those dentists never took the time and care like Dr. Ghannam. He made sure to check in with me during the procedure several times. I left the office today feeling not one iota of pain and felt really good about my decision to choose Artisan Dental. So, if you are scared of the dentist, if you are embarrassed about your smile or dental hygiene, if you have dental issues/concerns that you've been putting off because you don't want to feel judged, ARTISAN DENTAL is the place you need to come! The staff is very professional, they listen to you and all of you concerns, they make you feel at ease and confident that you made the right choice. Then Dr. Ghannam comes in and seals the deal with his excellent "bedside" manner, gentle touch and knowledge broken down so all can relate. He reinforces everything his staff says with his actions. I would've done my dental work years ago if I knew about this practice & Dr. Ghannam's gifted hands. MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT TODAY & THANK ME LATER!

I had pleasant experience at my first visit to Artisan Dental of Chevy Chase. Dr Ghannam and his assistants create very relaxing atmosphere. Dr Ghannam explained well in details what is my problem and the plan how to proceed with the treatment. I am very comfortable to follow the proposed procedure.

Had an extraction for four impacted wisdom teeth. Came out with only little pain and soreness with almost NO SWELLING. This speaks greatly of Dr. Ghannam's technique. Great value. Super friendly staff. They've got it down.

Doctors and staff were very professional , however was not happy about the way the financing situation went. Was told 1 thing and then it was another. Wish it would of worked out though. I was confident I had the right person for the job at hand

I'm a patient coming with a lot of bad experience from other dental offices and terrified of even a thought of dental work but at Artisan Dental I felt truly cared for and confident that I'm getting best help possible. Dr. Ghannam took time to listen to me, then identified the problem and explained procedures in great detail, without any rush.
