We understand dentistry may not fit into your budget when up against other priorities. We scrutinize every dollar spent and strive to pass those savings on to you. We also take care credit to allow another way to cover those expenses.
Dr. Arter graduated from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in Denver. CO. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, and actively participates in two local groups: the San Juan Basin Dental Society and Montelores Oral Health Coalition.
Dr. Arter is passionate about dentistry and is very detail oriented, caring and loves his patients. He prides himself not only in the high quality of his work, but the patient experience as well, striving to provide a gentle and judgement free environment. Dr. Arter is personable, kind and thorough and will work together with you to achieve your dental health goals. Dr. Arter is married and has three beautiful children. When not dentisting, you'll find Dr. Arter playing his guitar, mountain biking, mountaineering, skiing or camping.

I called them and left a message... never recieved call back. I called them again a month later, and did get the receptionist. I was informed they are not accepting new patient adults with medicaid.

Where to start....... Away from home and having a "dental crisis" (toothache anyway) It begins at the front desk with the friendliest most helpful person I have met in a while. Got me right in and immediately began my care. From the radiology personnel, the dental assistant, and the dentist, first class care from start to finish. Would highly highly recommend !!! Thank you guys for taking care of me.

Was looking for a good dentist for my two girls. They did not disappoint! Very gentle and nice and fun with both my girls. So glad we found these guys! Very great people and great atmosphere!

Everyone at Dr. Arter's office is wonderful! I'm not the easiest patient and yet they are getting my teeth all fixed up. I'm grateful for all their help. I don't get the normal "dentist office" anxiety when I go see them. They seem to make it easy. Thanks!

The doctor and his staff are amazing, the dental hygienist is caring and very skilled at her craft and the doctor is as pain free as I've ever experienced. I highly recommend this office and would trust them with my dental health. He had a few extra minutes so instead of having me reschedule another appointment he repaired an old filling at the same time as my exam and cleaning. Awesome job

The dentist will not remove teeth he deems "savable", regardless of patient wishes. Not everyone wants a root canal since they know within a few years they will be back at the same pain and agony. Thankfully other dentists are willing to help.

I am way happy with Arter Family Dental Care. I highly recommend coming to Dr.Arter and his team for all of your dental needs. They have never been rude and they always made sure my family and I were comfortable. What really won me over is Dr.Arter's compassion and gentle hands when my daughter had to have her tooth pulled. I'm thankful to have a dentist that actually cares. 5 stars for sure!

Dr. Arter is amazing with my kids. My son has anxiety and he was so patient and talked to him about everything he was doing and put my son at ease. He is very good at getting to know and understand his young patients in order to give them the best experience. He also helped us find the best options for orthodontist when my daughter needed braces taking into consideration what my family needed. His staff is also kind and patient. I'm so thankful to have them in Cortez!

My initial visit was super! Having to find a new dentist can be nerve racking. I felt so comfortable there with the staff and Doc Arter. So far so good! Update: after a few visits my experience is just as good as the first. Never have to wait, and has really helped me up my game in taking care of my teeth. Thanks Doc Arter and your awesome staff!

Dr. Arter and his team were hands down amazing. My little girl had pain form an abscessed tooth and they got her in that day to assess it. The care and professionalism were outstanding. My little girl will feel so much better now.
