I believe it is critical to stay at the forefront of clinical and technological advances in orthodontics. I attend numerous educational courses throughout the year, so I can offer my patients the best treatment options that fit their needs and lifestyle.
I feel that it is important to give back to the school where I received my education and training so I am actively involved with the Orthodontic Alumni Association of Illinois where I serve as executive director. I am proud to say that there are many alums, who like myself, help support the Orthodontic Department at the University of Illinois. I have been practicing orthodontics since 1996, and have taken over a tradition of excellence from Dr. William Newell and Dr. John Wollney. It was in 2002 that we moved into our current location which Dr. Wollney started in 1972. I feel so fortunate to be part of this profession and the legacy of two excellent orthodontists. It is rewarding to see the second and third generation of patients come to us for the orthodontic care of their children and grandchildren.
My treatment philosophy focuses on providing individualized, highest quality care in a friendly, fun, and warm environment. I always strive for excellence in my clinical results, but also try to make each patient feel at home and make sure everyone gets the personalized attention they deserve. I respect your time and promise to try to never keep you waiting.
I enjoy getting to know my patients over time, and I treat each one like part of my family. My best reward is when former patients stop me in town years later just to say hello and show off their beautiful smiles!
I live in Libertyville with my wife,Tina, who I met in dental school and is a dentist in Libertyville and Arlington Heights. We have one son, Vincent, who will hopefully follow in our footsteps and a dog, Baxter. When not in the office, we can be seen out and about in Libertyville. During the school year, you can usually find my wife and I at a baseball or football game, cheering on our son.
Its more important than ever to brush and floss regularly when you have braces, so the teeth and gums are healthy during orthodontic treatment. Patients who do not keep their teeth clean may require more frequent visits to the dentist for a professional cleaning. Adults who have a history of gum disease should also see a periodontist during orthodontic treatment. Watch the two videos below on the proper care of braces during orthodontic treatment.
What can you eat? Lets talk about what you shouldnt eat! For the first day or so, stick to soft foods. Avoid tough meats, hard breads, and raw vegetables. Before long, youll be able to bite a cucumber again. But youll need to protect your orthodontic appliances when you eat for as long as youre wearing braces.
When you get your braces on, you may feel general soreness in your mouth and teeth may be tender to biting pressures for 3 5 days. Take Tylenol or whatever you normally take for headache or discomfort. The lips, cheeks and tongue may also become irritated for one to two weeks as they toughen and become accustomed to the braces. We will supply wax to put on the braces in irritated areas to lessen discomfort.
To successfully complete orthodontic treatment, the patient must work together with the orthodontist. The teeth and jaws can only move toward their corrected positions if the patient consistently wears the rubber bands or other appliances as prescribed. Lack of cooperation following instructions and damaged appliances lengthen the treatment time so please follow instructions.

I love coming to work with people who make me feel so at home. My husband, Jake is in the military and we do not live near our family, so Arpino Orthodontics is truly my family. Jake and I enjoy spending time with our sweet dog, Piper.

A HUGE shoutout to Dr. Arpino !! My bottom retainer broke and was cutting my tongue. I went in there bc I work at Mickey Finns and he's right there. Came to find out that he took over my old orthodontists practice. I talked to the receptionist she said he didn't have any openings for 5-6 weeks. I said ok I'll call you if I can't find anyone else. I left. No only a few minutes later I got a phone call asking me to come back and that Dr. A would take it out for me bc he felt bad!! Not only did he not charge me but my teeth feel better than ever!! Thank you so much for what you did for me! Karma is a thing and it worked out awesome for me. I highly recommend you go to him bc he didn't have to do anything for me, a stranger. I'm so pleased you have no idea. Thanks again I will recommend you to everyone I know

Got my braces off years ago but my permanent retainer has acted up once or twice. Whenever it does, they are always happy to help out as quickly as possible. They are always very helpful and friendly!

Dr Arpino and his team are the best! They are excellent at what they do, but the things that really makes Dr Arpino's office extraordinary are the attitudes of him and his employees and the general atmosphere of his office! It is a very relaxed environment and I can tel his staff genuinely love their jobs. Everyone is so kind and pleasant! From my original experience getting braces as a teenager almost ten years ago to fixing a broken permanent retainer now, I would never go to another orthodontist! PS: kids will love playing with the arcade games in the basement while they wait for their appointment! I used to look forward to going to the orthodontist so I could play the with them lol

Dr. Arpino and the entire office is incredible. I get complimented on my teeth regularly. When I had an issue, over a decade after my braces came off, Dr. Arpino saw me to check in free of charge. I'd insist that anyone who needs an orthodontist in the north suburbs go to Dr. Arpino.

My family and I have been going to this ortho for years! It has been awhile since I got my braces off, but recently had some unexpected damage to my permanent retainer - they were able to squeeze me in and take care of my issue in a very timely manner.

I had my braces taken off in 2004, and 15 years later, they are still able to help me with the same love and care they always displayed. Due to natural wear and tear, my permanent retainer came loose. Was able to get this resolved easily and efficiently. Will send my own kids here if they ever need any type of tooth correction! Great place with a great business.
