As parents ourselves, we know how important it is to speak to someone during an emergency. It is for this reason we have installed a state-of-the-art phone system that can put you through to your dentist. If you are unable to reach us and do leave a message, our system will continue to page us until the voice message has been heard. Emergencies can happen anytime, and sometimes parents just need some reassurance or someone available to see their child.

We have many parents who say, Wow, my child wouldnt even open his mouth at my dentists office. Because we specialize in kids, we want to make our office fun and inviting, where they can come and feel at home! We have interactive toys where kids can utilize their imagination, touch, and of course test it out for durability. We even have a kid door that patients just love.

A board-certified pediatric dentist, or Diplomat, is a pediatric dentist whose credentials have been validated and has successfully completed a two-step examination process administered by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD). A dental practitioner with this level of certification exhibits a drive and determination for excellence in the field of pediatric dental health. All of Around the Mountain Pediatric Dentistrys dentist are board certified or board eligible, which represents the highest possible credentials within the field of Pediatric Dentistry.

We received our dental degrees at Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) and returned to Southern California to attend the pediatric dental residency program at the University of California, Los Angeles. After enjoying the Northwest, with the pedestrian-friendly walks, urban trails and cooler climate, we soon found Flagstaff. It was our match. We love the outdoors, being so close to lakes, rivers and a community with sustainability in mind.

We love the small town feeling of Flagstaff and are so grateful to raise our two children in such a wonderful community. Because of this, we feel it is important to be a part of and give back to our community. We are actively involved with the Coconino Health Department through Give Kids a Smile and the Flagstaff Medical Center Breastfeeding Center.

I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful community! I moved to Flagstaff from Prescott, Arizona, in October 2011. Born in Taiwan, I moved to Toronto, Canada at the age of 15, and I have found that I like the cooler weather in Northern Arizona. There are so many interesting places to explore and hike with my wife and two German Shepherds.

I met my wife in 2004 at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry where I attended dental school from 2002-2006, and she studied Dental Hygiene from 2003-2005. We enjoy traveling and spending time together with our families.

I then went on to complete my General Practice Dental Residency at the Medical College of Ohio in 2007, and received my certificate in Pediatric Dentistry as well as my Masters in Biomedical Science from the University of Toledo Medical Center in June 2009. After relocating to Arizona in July 2009, I received my Diplomate from the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 2010.

Im pleased to have found a practice home that mimics my personal philosophy and work ethic here at Around the Mountain Pediatric Dentistry. I will always listen and learn about your childs needs by recommending and providing treatment in the safest manner. The care your child receives will be gentle, informative and educational. The stars aligned when I became a part of the ATMPD family! Our group of Pediatric Dentists and team members we have serving Northern Arizona are truly amazing and I am honored to be a part of it all.

The journey to get here was quite the ride!I was born in Stevens Point, WI and raised in Mankato, MN. I moved to Arizona at the age of 20 and graduated from NAU in 2003 with a degree in Microbiology and minors in Chemistry and Spanish. During college I also lived in Argentina for a semester abroad. Since Id become accustomed to not having the full-body numbness you experience in Minne-snowda about nine months out of the year, I decided to continue my education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas to complete a Degree in Dental Medicine in 2008. Upon graduation I worked as a General Dentist with a wonderful team in Tucson, AZ. It was there that I became interested in dentistry for children. I wanted to be able to provide the highest standard of dental care for kids, so I went on to complete a Residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. I guess I just needed a taste of the cold again too.

Having been a GoldenGopher, Running Rebel, and Lumberjack, I vowed to myself that I would return to the high country one day. Although I will always love my Midwestern roots,Iamgrateful to be able to call Flagstaff home.I really enjoy the beautiful mountains and sunshine of Arizona.

I have worked with so many intelligent and caring people along the way. I have even had the opportunity to own my own practice, which has added to the level of care I can provide for patients. For me it IS all about the journey AND the destination. My husband, two kids and I are very excited to continue growing our roots in the community of Flagstaff. We enjoy the outdoors, fine dining at kid friendly places, all things music and generally keeping our vibrations high!
